Chapter 1: The Incident.

Chapter Text

Ao'nung was just five and Tsireya was just three when it all happened. They were just playing in the water until they saw unfamiliar objects floating in the water. It looked like...They were coming toward them? They both get out of the water fast, terrified. Ao'nung protectively and instantly put his hand in front of Tsireya, but he was a mere child. He couldn't do anything, and that made him terrified.

"Reya! Go get Mama and Baba, now!" He said in a quick tone. He was only five, and his sister was three, of course, he would be terrified of the threat! Once their parents arrive, rushing, they take a hold of their kids. They see a man in weird clothing. He had unusually short hair and clothing for a Na'vi. Then Ronal saw it. Demon-blood. Her expression became more fearful. She was terrified for her village and her family. Then the Dreamwalker spoke.

"Have you seen a man named Jake Sully?" He spoke, he was terrible at speaking Na'vi. It sounded chopped up and the accent wasn't right at all. "No, we haven't!" Ronal spoke quickly, her voice tone changing from terrified to fierce and worried. "Are you lying?" Tonowari and his mate shake their heads. The man shrugged. "Have it your way."

Quaritch suddenly held up a taser, tasing Ao'nung. Ronal screamed while being forced, along with her family, to be forced to the ground. Other demons hold up tasers to their heads. Soon after being tased, Ao'nung fainted and fell. He was put into a familiar object. It was a net. A net that didn't look like the Metkayina nets they make. It looked so unfamiliar yet familiar at the same time. Once the Na'vi left, Ronal immediately called her Tsurak and rode to find her son. She quickly caught up to the ship, she went underwater as soon as she saw the "thing" her son was put in. She looked in horror. Her son was floating, unconscious. His mouth was open and his eyes were closed. There was no breathing whatsoever. She quickly unsheathed her knife and started to cut through the rope. Once she made a huge enough hole, she got her son out. She held on to him tightly and quickly rode back to their village. Once she rose up from the water she couldn't find a pulse.

Ronal wasn't going to give up on her son yet. She quickly took him to the Healing Marui and started to remove water from his lungs. Still no pulse. All the water was removed, and she finally found one. She smiled with tears in her eyes. He was still unconscious. Ao'nungs family came to visit him every day, hoping he would wake up.

It has been a month and he still hasn't woken up. Tsireya and Ronal would still visit him. And Tonowari would visit with them whenever he could.

"Mama, what if he doesn't wake up? I'm worried for him."

"Don't worry my Ilu, it will be alright, I hope..." She whispered the last two words. Suddenly, they saw one of the clan members, panting. "Calm yourself, Ela'eta." Once she had calmed down, she fixed her posture. "Tsahik, it is your son. He has awoken."

Ronals eyes widen in joy. She could feel tears starting to form in her eyes. She rushed over with her mate and her toddler. They saw Ao'nung sitting up. They were quick to notice that he had formed some sort of marking. Ronal knew that the mark had represented Eywa's blessing. The mark was darker than his skin and on his cheek. However, it was very noticeable to see and his stripes didn't really blend in with it. Then it reached down all the way to his arm. His eyes widened once he saw his family. They quickly hugged him, whispering sweet words and thanking Eywa.

Ao'nung wasn't treated like a normal Na'vi anymore. It has been five years since the incident. All his friends except Rotxo left him. Every kid his age called him "freak", "Zombie Boy", etc... Rotxo and Tsireya became protective over him. And I mean very protective. Each time Ao'nung went out of the shared Marui, Tsireya and Rotxo would protect him. If someone was picking on him or bullying him or pushing him around on purpose, they would either hiss at them, beat them up until bruises were formed, or they would give off death glares. Tsireya became the most protective over her older brother. Her protectiveness soon became a part of her personality. She would be rude to anyone she didn't like, or she and her friends would pick on a few Na'vi. Ao'nung was grateful that he was able to live. Ever since he became ten, which was a few months ago, he has been helping around the village a lot. He would help feed the Ilu, he would help the older Na'vi with weaving, and he would usually swim around in the reef, finding shells to bring to Tsireya since she loved when he brought her favorite shells to her. He didn't particularly mind being picked on now. He was used to it. But it made him happier to know that his sister and "brother" will always be there for him.

A month later, Ronal went into labor. It took her a few hours, but she gave birth to a beautiful girl. "Her name is Kuwain." She announced to her family. Ao'nung and Tsireya loved her. They were glad to be given such a blessing by Eywa.

It's been a total of ten years since the incident. Ao'nung's mark was covering the left part of his face all the way down to his torso. This only resulted in him getting bullied more. Only the children would come up to him in curiosity. They all loved him because of his sweet personality and markings. Ao'nung grew to love children so he decided to start teaching them. He taught every child the ways of water. If the children wanted to see him dance, he would oblige, only because they asked so kindly, and he loves kids. Can you blame him? He has two sisters who he loves so dearly, and he has another on the way! So it would make sense he is amazing with children.

                                                                                                                                 ☾⚕︎☽

Ao'nung was teaching children how to sign. Suddenly, they heard a horn blow. Ao'nung knew that it meant that there was a threat or a new arrival. He quickly got the kids out of the water and he realized he had forgotten something in the reef so he connected with his Ilu and went underwater.

                                                                                                                                 ☾⚕︎☽

Tsireya and Rotxo were hanging out until they heard the horn. They noticed large creatures nearby and Na'vi. Wait, Na'vi? They saw the crowd that was forming and started to head to it. When Tsireya and Rotxo finally made their way through the crowd, they saw six dark blue Na'vi. Tsireya saw two adults, three teenagers, and one child. She saw the taller Na'vi who seemed like the eldest sign 'I see you' to her. She didn't have time to sign back, she was too curious. When she was behind them, Rotxo pointed out their tails.

"What is that? Is that even a tail?" He said, laughing. Tsireya laughed too as she looked at their thin body. She thought that they were built like twigs and that their bodies would be so easy to snap in half. They looked fragile. She and Rotxo kept laughing at their tails until they heard a splash from the water. She turned to look at the noise, noticing it was her brother. Once he entered the crowd, Tsireya saw the taller forest Na'vi look at Ao'nung. He had a shy smile and the freak had the audacity to look at her brother like- like he was all over him! She heard him say, "Hey," to him. As she turned to look at Ao'nung, she saw him smiling shyly and even blushed a little. She shook it off and continued to make fun of their tails along with Rotxo. Ao'nung slapped Rotxo's hand and looked at them sternly.

"Do not, Rotxo, Tsireya." He said, soon sighing. Their parents soon came, and Ronal disconnected from her tsurak. The older Na'vi with dreads finally spoke. "We seek Uturu." Tonowari noticed that he was the famous Jake Sully, and he was worried that they might bring the war to their peaceful clan.

Ronal was surprised. "Uturu?" She questioned as she examined them. "Your tails are too thin. Your bodies are too slim, you will be useless here." She started to examine their bodies from the front. She grabbed the boy with hair on his forehead's hand and held it high into the air for the whole clan to see. "These children are not even true Na'vi. They have demon blood!" Tsireya's expression changed to intimidated and scared. Soon after, the Na'vi that seemed like their mother, hissed at her mother. She hissed back, and after a couple of minutes, both of their mates pulled them back. Tsireya saw the man with dreads raise up his hands. He was also a demon. Soon after, Tonowari and Ronal came to an agreement.

She heard her father say, "Jake Sully and his family will stay here!"

Hold on.

Tsireya felt like she heard that name before. Suddenly, everything connected.

Oh.

Him.
