A soul shattered.
It was so quiet, barely above a whisper and yet it felt like every other noise stopped just so that one could be heard.
Several heads turned towards the noise in sync, all sensing the importance of what had just happened without knowing what exactly just happened.

Error heard the noise and his full body turned towards it.
Briefly he forgot he was in the middle of destroying an AU.
An over confident Undyne tried to strike him in the back but Error killed her with less than a single thought after all the way that sound ran out was so intruding as much as he was enjoying his battle with the fish monster he would much rather know what made that noise.
He needed to know what made that noise.
Every single bone in Error's body told him he needed to know right this very minute.
Before he could second guess it he left the half destroyed AU.
He needed to find it.

"Shut up" Nightmare hissed suddenly as he turned his attention away from the report Cross was giving him.
Nightmare felt confusion radiating off of Cross but he didn't pay attention.
It took the guardian a moment to realise that he had stood up in his surprise. He had pushed his chair back and was looking in a random direction as his tentacles flicked with a sense of annoyance.
"A new piece was just added to the board." Nightmare said with a sense of certainty.
Surprise shot off of Cross like light shoots off of a bulb "What? Like a new AU was created? I didn't think new ones were being made anymore"
"Tell the others to be on the look out" Nightmare ordered and in the same breath dismissed Cross from his office.
"Look out for what?" Cross asked in stead of leaving.
Nightmare just shot him a glare which was invitation enough for his underling to quickly vacate the room. Because the thing was, nightmare had no idea what he was telling them to look out for.
The only thing Nightmare knew about this new entity was that he wasn't going to let them take away his throne.

Dream's eyes opened foggily. He wanted to turn in the direction of the sound, he wanted to see so badly what could have made a noise that rung out across the entire multiverse.
"Did...?" his voice is cracked and broken from lack of use but he pushes on anyway.
Blue sits up alert as the guardian attempted to talk "Dream- you're awake" he states the obvious in a moment of stupor.
Dream pays him little mind and tries to force himself to sit up "Did you...?"
The guardian's arms give out and he falls back towards the mattress but Blue catches him and steadies him "Don't exert yourself" Blue orders with a concerned tone.
"Did you hear it?" Dream finally manages to get out as his eye lids struggle to remain open.
With the same amount of struggle Blue tries to hold back tears as he notices how dim Dream's eye lights are. "No Dream, it's been silent for hours."
Dream can only let out a grunt of disagreement before sleep drags him back down.

Core snapped her mouth shut mid sentence as she felt the soul snap rather than hear it.
Instantly she reached out trying to find it but her awareness brushed against a wall, whatever just happened she was unaware of it's true nature.
"HEY!" An underfell papyrus variant yelled at her "Are you even fucking listening!? I swear you pulled us into this shitty ass Omega timeline BULL SHIT AND NOW CAN'T EVEN FIX OUR GOD DAMN PLUMBING"
"I am not your landlord" She tried to explain but her voice was too soft to get through to the skeleton.
"I don't care what you are just fix this." the papyrus hissed
"Someone will be here very soon to fix everything." She almost felt like the words weren't hers.
She wasn't sure exactly what had made her say that exact sentence but something rang true in it.
Papyrus also seemed to feel the lingering truth in the sentence because he seemed mildly stunned before he walked off without another word. Probably content with the promise of someone coming to fix their plumbing, though that was not what Core was referring to.
