Work Text:
As she stood atop of the hill , Wind blowing ash in her face and hair, she looked back one last time, looked at the fiery rain falling from the sky, setting everything it touched ablaze without a care for what it was . A tear streamed down her cheek.
But not for the people who lost their homes or even their lives or families, no she didn't care for them, they could die for all she cared. That single tear was for the memories she left behind, that burned beneath the rain.
But, she contemplated, it served them alright for they were built on lies, deceptions and fraud. So she stood there, sword in hands as she watched her kingdom burn to the ground, destroying the life she lived so far.
What once was a happy flourishing Kingdom, wich she loved with all her heart and soul, was barely recognisable. She contemplained it all started when her advisors started cutting her out of important meetings more and more as time progressed, wich in it self should have been a warning. But she never realised how bad it had become.
Greed, selfishness and hunger for power and gold corrupted the people of this kingdom so she had to do something. She couldn't and wouldn't let them live on like that.
Never would she made such a drastic choice if I'd hadn't been necessary but any hope she had was crushed upon realising that the greed had consumes every single person in her kingdom. No one was spared.
She admired the beauty that was once her castle as it collapsed into a blazing inferno, with the city beneath it roaring with flames as they ate everything in their way.
As the Sun set it was a fascinating view, the whole kingdom painted a glowing red and gold. She chuckled and turned away, that was all in her past. She didn't even realise she was burning, her skin sizzling and glowing and her hair aflame.
She played with the fire coming out of her hand with a smile on her lips. Ash still rained from the sky. But at last the screams had stopped.
Her armour clinked as she rode away, away from the burning inferno of flames. Away to a new life. Suddenly she remembered something her teachers used to say about a prophecy: A saviour would come to give them their deserved gold.
Seems they were right, someone would come and give them what they deserved, their gold. But if she was a saviour? Well there was no one to ask, was there? Wich should explain it.
