Working with the god of lightning with a fear of lightning

Summary:

I always had a fear of lightning even before my trip to Yashiori island with a couple friends. That trip left me with a lightning scar down the right side of my face and my left arm. Then one day I was offered to work with the Almighty Shogun. Not a love story. A Story of Friendship and trauma.

Too lazy to read: A 25 year old trying to make an isolated goddess of lightning open up with teas and sweets, but the 25 year old has a fear of lightning.

Yeah this will be fun. oh and the Wanderer will making his appearance at some point. Also please don’t expect a lot this is my first and I didn’t proof read anything. Sorry for the bad grammar :(

I also have a really bad writing schedule = only writing at 3am

Notes:

Hey welcome this is my first and I hope you like it.

The Main character Ai Léi Li was offered a job from the Almighty Shogun and is now going through the interview process.

Please enjoy ^^

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: “Interview with the Goddess of lightning”

Chapter Text

I always had a fear of lightning even before my trip to Yashiori island with a couple friends. That trip left me with a lightning scar down the right side of my face and my left arm. Then one day I was offered to work with the Almighty Shogun. Apparently the Almighty Shogun requested this from the Tri-Commission and the Yashiro Commission took it up and sent it to the Komore Teahouse then they sent it to me. So here I was Ai Léi Le, the same girl who quit the Adventurers guild a few months ago to work with a dog and tea. Yes, She did love to make tea. Hell the one thing she got for her 15th birthday was a teapot.

The love of all things tea had me making and serving tea. And now I'm doing the same ,but with a literal god, not only a god, but a god of lightning.

“Ah f**k f**k f**k- “ the same thought that was running through my head, when standing at the door of the Shogunate with my bag full of my supplies.

When the door opened, the Shogunate stood in the middle of the room.

“Uhh Hello?” I said with an afraid voice.

“Who goes there?!” The voice boomed.

“Uhh I'm the tea maker” I said with the sound of my racing heart in my ears. “Let’s just all hope I don’t have a panic attack” I take a big gulp.

“Do you have a vision?” She said with the same booming voice.

“Uhh yes why?” I asked more confused than afraid, but still very afraid.

“Give it here!” She said as she walked over to reach it.

As she reached for it “Well this is where I die not being struck by lightning or falling into a 15ft cave, but being killed by a god. Not bad” These were the last thoughts that ran through my head before she closed her eyes.

When I opened my eyes to a bright sky and many torris( the red arches) scattered around the floor. When she finally got off the floor.

“Ah Hello, you're finally awake.” Said a voice that came from nowhere.

“What the f**k? Where the f**k am I?” I thought confusedly. “Hello?” I ask as confused as she’ll ever be.

When she looked at where the voice came from. I saw the Shogun. “ The f**k is she floating” I thought even more confused.

“Uh what’s happening?” I said with my head spinning.

“Ah yes you're in my Plane of Euthymia.” Said the Shogun. I think I didn’t know there were two of them.

I respond with a confused face. “Uh yes I totally know what she is talking about.” I thought to herself.

“So this is the tea maker the Shogunate was recommend?” She asked as she got off her floating state?, and helped me help.

“Uh yes ,but aren’t you the Shogunate?” I question even more confusion as took the hand she stuck out for her to grab. “What in archons’ name is happening” The spinning in head finally ceased.

“Oh yes sorry I’ll explain everything about where you are and how you’ll do this job.” She explained to her and the same “her” was trying to understand.

The “room” or space changed and a couple of seats and a table appeared in the middle of it. The “Shogunate” Gestured to one of the seats. I took the seat very cautiously. After I took the seat she began.

“Let’s start with you and your name. What is your name?” Shogunate asked with a smile. Wait, that was a smile. It was quite small but It was still very much a smile.

“Uh yes my name is Ai Léi Le and I’m 25.” I was kinda stocked by the minuscule smile she gave me.

“It is nice to meet you, Miss Ai Léi Le.” She said back to me. She sticks out her hand for me to take.

I took her hand and shook it with the most confidence that I could build up. Which was no confidence. Haha.

“You can call me Ai Léi.” I said as I took the tri- color dango that also appeared with the seats and table. After I took the dango I realized “Did I suggest that too harshly”I thought to myself before looking at her. “Oh archons, did I make her mad?” I thought again.

“I mean if you want to.” I said quickly as I quietly laughed anxiously while rubbing the back of my neck. “I’ve never been so anxious in my life.” One of the many thoughts running through my brain as I sweated bullets.

“Oh no please don’t be anxious. Can you show me your résumé?” She asked as she sat with her legs crossed and her arms on the knee that was higher.

“Yes, of course. I have it here.” I regain my composure and hand her my résumé.

End of résumé)

I sat there with sweat running down my back as I watched her look through my life's work. I was doing the unconscious thing called fidgeting with my hands. This always happens when I get nervous.

After a while she finally spoke. “I have looked over your résumé and it looks good.” She said with the smallest smile.

“Thank you, but I have a couple of questions I would like to ask if that’s okay?” I asked, trying my best to remember what Thoma taught me when I asked him about how to get a job.

“Okay, What are the questions?” She asked back. She moves closer trying to hear what I am trying to say. This makes me very uncomfortable.

“What days of the week do I have to work?” I ask, feeling my confidence draining.

“Everyother day is that okay? And no work on the weekends.” She answers, it seems like she is kinda nervous too.

“Yeah, that's okay, thank you.” I reply as I write down what she said in my small notebook that I keep in my pocket.

After I write that down I think of another question.”Do you have a favorite tea? Or do you want something pacifically? Or a pacific taste?”

“Uh I don’t really have a favorite tea, but just anything that goes well with sweets.” She replies while moving to grab one of the tri-color dango on the table.

I write this down quickly. Before thing “So anything that goes with sweets. Okay yeah that is not that hard.” I smile with my confidence back at full force.

“Is that it?” She asked as she stood back up.

“Yes thank you the almighty Shogun for the Interview.” I said as I bowed deeply as to show my respect towards her.

“Yes of course.” She responded before sending me back into the dark abyss where I came from. When I got out I was slightly dizzy and I was in the same room where I thought I was going to die.

Let’s just say that I got out of there as quickly as possible. I kinda didn’t want to try dying again. This was like the 3rd time.

Well I’m gonna have a lot to talk to Ayaka and Thoma about this at our hot pot night.
