Chapter 1: A young star

Chapter Text

The house of his family’s was always so big for him. It always made him want to stay out and play. Something about the decorations and delicate colors made him want to wreak havoc. But he also knew that his dear parents would not appreciate it, so he went somewhere else.

But he never was to go anywhere alone. He had been ordered to always take someone with him, and he was not one to break rules. Only bent them.

His parents told him to take one of them with him if he wanted to play, but their idea of play has always been so dull. There was only person in this humongous house that he wanted to play with, and she was just as playful as he was.

She was never dull, and she would never force him to stay still and quiet.

They would play their favorite games all day, if it wasn’t for their parents.

So, he went to search for her. If he had to guess, she was forced to be with their father. She usually was the one who was forced to do that.

He never saw her, but he did hear her.

‘’But, Daddy!’’ her voice echoed in the halls.

‘’No buts, young star. You know it is for the better.’’ the voice of their father rang the halls without effort.

‘’No! Daddy, you can’t do that! If you have to send someone away, sent me! Leave him out of this!’’ her voice argued, and he creeped closer.

‘’We do not have to send anyone away, but he must go. He has to learn, unlike you.’’

‘’He is a special star! You just refuse to see it, Daddy!’’

‘’Our decision is final. You cannot change it.’’

‘’But…’’

‘’You need to understand, young star. You cannot stay as children forever. It is time you stop these meaningless games with him.’’

‘’If… If you sent him away, I will leave too!’’

He reached of the door and pushed. This room was just as huge as every other room.

It was clean.

It was perfect.

It was everything he hated and more.

His favorite person stood there, turning towards him, but he could not remember her face. The only thing he could remember clearly, was word that left her mouth when he was forced out of the house and into a realm that was to be his home.

‘’Brother!’’

-------------------------------

The Collector awoken from the little nap they had allowed themselves to have. Their breathing was tense, and a bit freaked out as they sat up and looked around.

Ever since the Day of Unity, The Collector had shaped the land to their desire. But no matter what they tried to do with it, it always felt off.

They had broken the bones, shaped them into walls and because of their actions, the people were suffering.

This realm The Collector called home…

No. It was far from home.

They had molted it to their will, trying to create an Owl House so that they could all play a game. They had no idea what an Owl House would look like or how the game was played.

The one who promised to tell them the rules was nowhere to be seen.

The people who worshiped them were going to bring them offerings that they didn’t want or need.

They didn’t even know what happened to those who resisted them. They hardly even cared what had happened to the man, who pretended to be their friend.

The Collector might have hated being captured and imprisoned into a round stone, but they found themselves hating this even more.

They had tried to go on with their life. They had created a home for themselves. They had people to play with.

But it was all wrong.

This was not their home.

And these people were not their playmates.

They would never survive the fun games The Collector wanted to play.

The Collector looked up at the sky again. The sun was beaming down from the clear sky. They looked down at the ground to see mist of something forming under the wall they were laying on.

Oh… How they hated it here…
