Chapter Text
The Wizard sat in his cave, hunched over a dented copper bowl. This was not a cauldron, boiling with an impossible potion that promised the caster more power than he could imagine. It was a simple stew that carried with it a very tangible smell of salt. He dipped his hands into the scalding hot soup and began to greedily drink it from his palm. He was beyond proper eating. When you come to be a wizard of his calibre, magic bends how you view reality. For the wizard, Shazam, the magic simply made his hunger for soup unmatched.
A great explosion rocked the entire cave and light flooded in, revealing to him the great statues that were the seven deadly sins. It knocked over his bowl of soup, spraying chicken stock all over his wizard robes.
“Noooo!” he shouted to the sky that wasn’t there.
One by one they came in, men in camouflage who had their eyes hidden from god by dark sunglasses but at their head was a man dressed in a top hat and a waistcoat. The man brandished a long black plastic wand with a white head. His name is Mumbo.
“You’ll be coming with us, Wizard,” he said.
With a flourish, Mumbo produced a flock of doves from thin air and they flew around dazzlingly the assembled soldiers.
“I will do nothing, foolish child!” he said to the old man in the top hat.
Shazam rose and began to try to hit Mumbo, but as soon as he rose, his ears were met with a single word, “Dnib!”
Shazam’s entire form was suddenly wrapped in powerful rope that had not been there before and when he tried to speak, Mumbo spoke for him.
“Gag!” and in his mouth appeared a mass of plastic that he could not dislodge with his tongue.
The soldiers surrounded him and dragged Shazam out of his cave home in the Rock of Eternity.
