Work Text:

When he comes out of the bathroom after his shower, the dorm is silent. Zhang Hao walks into the dining room and sighs, exhausted, tossing his wet hair with a towel. In the dim room, lit only by the blue light from the muted TV, Hanbin is finishing tidying up the kitchen. His dreamy features glow in the dark, and not even the exhaustion that plagues everyone after their debut, can hide his sweet beauty.

Looking at him, for his eyes only, blissfully ignorant of his gaze, Zhang Hao feels butterflies in his stomach. An unexpected realization hits him. Hanbin is really his. And sometimes this dream doesn't feel real.

Zhang Hao considers himself greedy, and he is proud of his ambitions, but Hanbin... The boy awakens an unknown monster in him. A rebellious need to possess.

Only look at me.

Hanbin looks up, subconsciously aware of his presence, and smiles. An intimate and precious smile. Zhang Hao quietly approaches and caresses the line of his jaw, his cherry and bitten lips.

“Let's go to sleep, Hanbinnie. It’s been a long day."

Zhang Hao turns to leave, confident that Hanbin will follow him to his room. The company assigned them the shared bedrooms, but reality is that each member sleeps with whoever they want. And, of course, Zhang Hao's room has become Hanbin's room unofficially. Just don't tell the managers.

A gentle hand stops him by grabbing his wrist.

“Hyung. Let’s wait. It's almost time,” Hanbin shyly looks away, and a subtle blush colors his cheeks. “I want to be the first to wish you a happy birthday.”

It's endearing of him, and Zhang Hao really appreciates it, but he well knows that rest is their priority.

“Hanbin-ah, we’re tired. Let's cuddle in bed.”

“Please,” those eyes... Those damn kitten eyes melt him. They say Hanbin can't deny Zhang Hao anything. It also applies vice versa.

They sit on the sofa, practically entangled with each other. Zhang Hao rests his head on Hanbin's chest, rubbing circles absentmindedly. Hanbin's ever-warm hand wraps around his, and it's all so beautifully domestic, that Zhang Hao is terrified to wake up from this dream alone in his room in Fujian.

Zhang Hao focuses on the movement of Hanbin's chest as he breathes. Up and down. Up and down. His eyelids become heavy. He’s at peace. Here, in this little retreat of the world that is all theirs.

Exactly as the clock strikes twelve, Hanbin sits up straight, pulling away from him with a soft smile. Zhang Hao almost whines, missing his warmth instantly.

“Close your eyes, Hao-hyung.”

Zhang Hao laughs at him fondly, shaking his head as if to say "you're hopeless", but he closes his eyes as told, expectantly.

Hanbin is close, his breath on his neck gives him goosebumps. Zhang Hao takes the opportunity to inhale his scent. He smells like Hao's bath soap and roses. He smells like home.

And that's when he feels it. A light, cold weight against his clavicle. Zhang Hao opens his eyes and reverently touches the precious silver necklace that rests on his collarbone. A dandelion. The gift is as exquisite as Hanbin himself.

A lump rises in Zhang Hao’s throat and he looks up at Hanbin, who smiles back at him, blushing.

“Happy birthday, Hao-gege,” he whispers with his honey voice.

Zhang Hao's eyes fill with tears. He’s not a crybaby, but all of this is so silly, so cliché, so Sung Hanbin… His boyfriend is insufferably perfect. He feels loved. And it's the best feeling in the world. He feels protected by this cocoon of affection and warmth.

“I love you,” he tells Hanbin. Because it’s true, and because it’s necessary to say it. Zhang Hao gazes at him in wonder, finding it incredible that, for some strange reason, this sweet creature decided to give himself to him so selflessly.

Zhang Hao can't help but squeeze him in his arms, caressing his hair, biting his lips. Hanbin moans into his mouth, disoriented by the sudden outburst, holding on to his neck. Zhang Hao ventures a hand under his shirt, stroking his belly, knowing that Hanbin is sensitive there.

“Be mine tonight, angel. You’ll be my best birthday gift,” asks Zhang Hao between kisses. Hanbin sighs with his eyes closed and tilts his neck, giving him better access.

“I’ll be forever yours, Zhang Hao.”
