Work Text:
Kim Roksu grew up being abandoned by everyone he loves.
His parents. His relatives. His friends.
He grew up poor. Barely getting by. Scraping a living in the dregs of society. He did anything and everything just to live for another day.
Somehow he survives, barely.
When Roksu finally elevated himself above that poverty, he learned that he doesn't like being abandoned.
That it hurt to be abandoned.
He learned that if he doesn't want to be abandoned then he's got to be useful. So he got to work. Did his best. Gave it his all so he will be indispensable.
Then he learned that he will be abandoned anyway, even if they say they won't. That no matter how useful he is, just one mistake will cost him all.
And that hurts even more.
Roksu doesn't want to hurt.
And so Roksu became obsessed with keeping things.
Whatever it takes.
Everything Roksu likes he ends up keeping. He doesn't like much, but of the things he likes he takes really good care of.
The beautiful marble chess set sits in a special glass cabinet.
The rare bonsai tree has it's own greenhouse.
The blue diamond he stole in a secure safe.
The bones of his beloved hyung in a shrine in his home office.
Cale Henituse chained to his room...
Yes. Kim Roksu takes good care of anything he deems worth keeping.
And of all the treasures he's collected, he takes good care of Cale Henituse the most.
What Roksu wants, he gets.
It doesn't matter how hard it is to acquire. Once Roksu wanted something, he'll do anything to get it. Sooner or later he'd get it.
Like this ruby necklace.
Roksu likes it. It'll look great on his Cale. It would contrast so beautifully wrapped around his Cale's beautiful neck. It would complement so nicely on his Cale's beautiful hair.
Roksu wants it.
It's a bit pricey, but that's why Roksu works so hard. He has a ton of money now. He can buy this necklace.
But sometimes people take what's his.
It's not a problem though. Roksu just takes care of it. He's become really good in taking anything he deemed as his. Sometimes it takes a while, but he'll eventually get it.
What Roksu wants, he gets.
Like this ruby necklace.
Roksu goes home. His Cale is waiting. He can't let his Cale wait long.
There are a lot of things you have to remember if you take care of Cale. It's fine though. Roksu has always been good at remembering things.
"You're late." His Cale says, the moment Roksu enters his room. If Roksu wasn't late he'd get a "You're back" instead. Either way his Cale is waiting for him. Either way his Cale welcomes him home.
Roksu's eyes soften. He never gets tired of looking at his Cale. No matter how tired he is, just listening to his Cale and just looking at his Cale is enough to wash Roksu's fatigue away.
And look at his Cale now.
His Cale is wearing the sapphire encrusted chain today.
His Cale is wearing the sapphire encrusted chain and nothing else today.
"I'm sorry" Roksu kneels in front of his Cale. When Cale is upset the best thing to do is apologize.
Gingerly, Roksu holds his Cale's ankle, palming softly at where the chain rests on his Cale's beautiful skin, carressing his leg, placing a kiss on his knee.
"I'm sorry" Roksu breathes and his Cale shivers, "Forgive me"
Roksu takes good care of his possessions.
This is how to take care of his Cale.
His Cale bends forwards, frowning down at him, inspecting his clothes and removing his coat off.
"You're bloody" His Cale says, an inquiry.
"It's not mine." Roksu says, honestly.
It's best to be honest to his Cale.
His Cale is happiest when Roksu is being honest.
"Someone bought the necklace I wanted to give you." Roksu confesses, looking at his Cale's piercing eyes, "I wanted to buy it back but they won't let me, so I took it back instead."
A surprised look, and then a blush bloomed on his Cale's face. A shy smile. Beautiful. He is no longer upset. Roksu is glad.
"So you killed them? For me?" The smile brightens, and his Cale cups his cheeks. He looks happy. Roksu is glad.
"Yes. Just for you."
Roksu takes out the necklace, offering it up to his Cale. It's still bloody, but his Cale doesn't mind, lifting his hair out of the way as Roksu stands, unclasping the jewelry.
Roksu put the necklace on his Cale's perfect neck, and he's right. It's perfect. It wraps so beautifully around his Cale's perfect neck.
His Cale runs his fingers on the necklace, looking at the mirror by their bed, admiring himself.
And oh what a vision his Cale is, a ruby on his neck and saphires on his ankle. Roksu thumbs at his Cale's soft hair, and his Cale looks up at him underneath those long lashes, smiling at him with those sinful lips.
Maybe Roksu should get him some emeralds next, or maybe diamonds. Drape him in silks.
No amount of glittering things could compare to his Cale, though.
"Mine" Roksu breathes. Cale is his. His most prized possession. Only his.
"Love me" Cale demands. Roksu obeys.
He captured those lovely lips onto his. Left his mark on those soft milky skin. Acquainted himself on every curve and crevice. Drowned himself on a voice so tantalising, calling onto his name. Tasted every part of his Cale.
Roksu looked into those dazzlingly beautiful eyes looking down at him, and Roksu breathes again, "Mine."
Roksu takes good care of his possessions.
This is how he takes care of his Cale.
Cale wants to be desired.
Cale knows that he is desirable, but as he grew up he realized it's only because everyone wants something from him.
His family wanted him to be a good son. His friends wanted him to curry them favors for their families. His lovers want him because of the prestige and his body.
No one wants Cale just as he is.
Cale wanted to be wanted, but he can't be wanted if he doesn't have something to give.
So Cale gave, and gave, and gave.
Cale gave his all to be a good son, fulfilling his duties to the family. Cale gave his all to repay the kindness of his friends. Cale gave his all to the lovers that whisper sweet nothings to his ears.
He gave until he was empty.
Still everyone wanted more.
And Cale gave up wanting.
He let anyone do anything to him. He thought it is only right. He is only desirable when he has something to give, but now he has run empty.
So what if all he is is just a bargaining chip for his family's business? So what if his friends only remembers him if they want something? So what if his lovers only say they love him if they can bed him and show him off to others?
Cale just wants to be desired.
If he can give more after he is empty, maybe he'll finally be desired.
When Cale first met Roksu, he knew that Roksu wanted him.
It was obvious in the way his eyes would follow him everywhere in the room. It was obvious in the way he would linger everywhere Cale goes. It was obvious in the way he looks at him.
Cale had thought he was just like any other.
"I want you"
Those were Roksu's first words to him.
"Be mine."
Cale had laughed at that. Yes, that's right. Roksu wants him, but Cale was sure he wants what Cale could give. Everyone wants something from him.
"Why?" Cale had asked. It was not everyday that someone was so blatant with their desires afterall.
"I just do" Roksu tells him.
Nonesense. Cale would not believe it. Everyone wants something from him. They always do.
"Do you want me for my family name? My family's money? My family's influence? My body?" Cale had asked, had demanded to know.
Cale is tired of giving.
"I want you."
Cale could tell then, that Roksu was being honest.
And yet, Cale doesn't dare hope.
"You want me? Then try to get me." Cale challenged.
"I will." Roksu simply said.
Cale had scoffed, had doubted, but as he watched Roksu walk away it would be a lie to say he didn't feel a stirring of excitement.
Cale's fiancé died. Murdered.
Roksu had killed him. For Cale.
Roksu had then presented the man's heart to him on a silver platter.
Instead of being scared, Cale felt his heart flutter.
Roksu then kidnaps Cale. Chained him to his room. Demanded nothing from him but his presence. Showered him with endless attention and affection. Obeys his every word.
To go such lengths to be with him...
Cale is elated. He is desired. Desired beyond compare. Cale couldn't be more happier.
"If I scar myself, would you still desire me?" Cale had asked once. Surely, Roksu only wants his body?
"You are mine" Roksu says, "All of you. If a scar is part of you, then that scar is mine too."
"If I tell you to kill yourself, would you do it?" Cale asked once. Surely Roksu only wants him because he has power over him?
"Only if it will make you happy" Roksu tells him, "Only if you are still mine in the afterlife."
"If I kill myself, would you replace me?" Cale asked once. Surely Roksu only wants him because he's here?
"There is nothing like you, Cale" Roksu tells him, "If you die I'll preserve every inch of you, and I'll carry your dried up heart with me everywhere."
Cale wants to be desired.
And with Roksu, how much more desired could he be?
Cale removes the chain on his ankle, trotting to the mirror to admire the evidence of desire Roksu left all over him.
Roksu joins him, wrapping him in an embrace, breathing him in like a drowning man coming up for air.
"My Cale" Roksu whispers, and desire pools in Cale's very being. This is why he stays.
"No," Cale says, kissing the man that desires him in his entirety. "You are mine, Roksu."
Rosku will always desire Cale, and Cale will never abandon Roksu.
Together, they are happy.
