The Light at the Night (Shift)

Summary:

Camila Noceda is having financial troubles and has two weeks to pay the rent, her daughter Luz decides to help out and get a job.

Unfortunately that job is being a nightguard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

Notes:

I've been going through a fnaf phase lately and this started out as a character.ai roleplay that I decided to make and actual fic out of.

So here's my first ever fnaf fanfic and first crossover fic! Think of it as my way of celebrating the movie's release.

I'd like to thank @discord12395 (GMachina) for helping me with a lot of the ideas you'll see in this fic.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

"Oh man, this episode is gonna be awesome!" Gus exclaims as he sets down his and Hunter's drinks.

"I know! I can't wait to see how Captain Avery gets out of this situation!" Hunter was bouncing in his seat with excitement as he grabbed the remote and set it on the correct channel. Soon the intro began playing, Gus and Hunter squealed in excitement. They were completely in a trance as the episode played out.

Eventually, the episode cuts to the ad break, and the boys immediately start to gush over how amazing the episode was already. As the two nerded out, a fun time music played on the screen.

"That's right! Freddy is back better than ever!" Someone in the ad said, catching the attention of Camila who was in the kitchen. The screen showed a brown bear wearing a top hat and bow tie above a logo saying "Freddy Fazbear"

"And we would like to invite you to the grand reopening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza! After 30 long years!" This had fully caught the attention of Hunter and Gus, along with everyone who was nearby. Luz, Amity, Vee, Willow, and especially Camila. "It's bigger! It's fun! It's delicious! With our state-of-the-art animatronics and arcade games you'll never be bored!" The advert then showed kids playing and having fun inside of the very large-looking place.

Then the camera cuts to show what the kids all assume were the animatronics, the brown bear front, and center, along with a blueish-purple rabbit with a red guitar and bow tie, and a yellow chicken wearing a bib reading ’LET’S EAT‘, holding a goofy-looking pink cupcake with big eyes and buck teeth.

"It's back...?" Camila muttered, causing the teens to look at her with some level of confusion.

"Come down to Freddy Fazbear's to eat delicious pizza, play Faz-erific arcade games, and catch Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica perform on stage! Or you can go on a pirate adventure with Foxy in Pirates Cove!"

As the guy in the ad spoke about Pirates Cove the screen showed a pirate-themed play area with a red fox who had an eyepatch over its right eye and had a hook on its right hand.

"What is this?" Luz asked to no one in particular knowing that no one had an answer-

"This is my childhood..." Camila answered, sounding like she was in a nostalgic-filled trance.

"You used to go to this place?" Vee asked, leaning towards her human mother.

"I loved that place! Especially the animatronics." Camila sighed with pure nostalgic bliss.

Amity looked between Camila and the TV. Least to say, the little witch was perplexed.

”I'm confused,” Amity admitted, not to say the feelings weren’t mutual amongst her friends. "You liked those things? They look so creepy."

"Nonsense, they were great when I used to go there. The pizza was delicious, the games were fun, and there were a lot of great prizes."

Hunter and Gus' faces lit up at the word 'prizes'. What sort of items could they win in such a bizarre-sounding place? The boys were determined to find out.

"And you can join in on the fun tomorrow at 8 a.m.! And at a discounted price to celebrate the return of Freddy Fazbear! We hope to see you there!"

"Hm... Why don't we go tomorrow?" Camila offered to the group of kids, Hunter and Gus immediately agreed. The woman laughed a little at their enthusiasm, and soon enough everyone agreed to go to the grand reopening, even Amity despite the hesitation.

Luz couldn't help but notice that in her mother’s excitement, she looked a little sad about something. However, she decided to ask her about that tomorrow.

"Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where fantasy meets fun!"

The Next Day

Camila stopped the car right in the parking lot for Freddy's, there were a ton of families at the restaurant waiting for the place to open. One by one, they all got out of the car and made their way over to the entrance. Right as the place opened up, all the families started to pile inside the pizzeria.

The pizzeria had a mix of 80s and modern aesthetics. It gave Camila a very nostalgic feel for her, remembering the days when she came here.

After waiting in line for a while, Camila paid for everyone's admission, all given a wristband with a barcode on it. Once that was over with, she allowed them all to run around and have fun.

Hunter and Gus immediately ran over to the arcade along with Willow and Vee while Luz and Amity went off on their own to check out the place.

Camila sat down at one of the tables and looked around, feeling the nostalgia running through her entire body. The countless days she spent in this dining room, eating pizza and watching the animatronic characters perform on stage. It made her smile brightly knowing that Freddy's was back.

Luz and Amity first checked out Pirates Cove, it was a decently sized indoor playground that was all pirate-themed.

"This is pretty cool!" Luz looked around in pure awe at it all. Even though she was a bit too old for it, she couldn't help but feel a bit impressed by the restaurant, seeing all the little ones having fun.

"Where are the robots?" Amity looked around and noticed the Cove’s stage was covered by a purple curtain with a star pattern on it. Is the robot hiding there? She still got chills from the commercial the other day.

"They're probably getting them ready," Luz answered, while Amity was curious to look under the stage to see one of the robot characters but ultimately decided against it.

Suddenly, Amity yelped in pain as she felt something poke her arm "OW! What the-?"

She turns around and sees a little kid with a pirate hat and eyepatch, brandishing a little toy sword.

"Yar!” the kid yelled in a pirate accent. ”Avast ye wench! Lest ye walk the plank!" Amity glared at the kid, causing the boy to yelp and run away. The cotton-candy-haired witch may be good with children, but she had her limits.

"Awe come on Amity! That kid's just trying to have fun!" Luz gently rubbed Amity's shoulders with the hope of calming her down.

"It's not fun when I didn't want to be a part of it," Amity said back before turning around and was greeted by another kid wearing a Freddy Fazbear mask. "GAH!!!" The little masked girl giggled and walked away. Amity folded her arms and grumbled. "I hate this place."

"It's okay." Luz rubbed Amity's shoulders even more. "How about we play some games? That'll take your mind off things." Luz takes Amity's hand and leads her to the arcade.

Meanwhile, Hunter, Gus, and Vee were at the prize counter looking at all the prizes they could win, there were candy, shirts, toys, and plushies. And next to the prize counter was a large box that looked like a present with a sign reading 'COMING SOON'

"I want to win something for Willow..." Hunter murmured to himself, looking over all of the prizes to see which one was the best fit for Willow to have. "It has to be perfect..."

"Dude Willow will love anything you give her just pick something like that rabbit plush!" Gus said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"He's right y'know?" Vee agreed with Gus while Hunter scoffs.

"Neither of you know what you're talking about."

"Yes, we do." Both Gus and Vee said simultaneously.

"And what do you know?" Hunter turns to the both of them, crossing his arms.

"I've been Willow's friend for years."

"And I'm a basilisk."

"Shut up," Hunter muttered, annoyed, and walked off with Vee and Gus behind him.

The three of them walked around the arcade to see the games that they could play and win tickets.

"Hm... What should we play first?" Gus asked his companions

"Why not skeeball?" Vee suggested pointing to the row of ski ball machines lined up against the wall.

"What's... skeeball?" Hunter asked. He looked at Gus, hoping one of the smartest guys he knew would give him an answer. The prodigy only gave him a shrug, just as confused as he was. Vee gasped in surprise.

"You..." Vee muttered slowly. "Never played skeeball before!?" Vee then grabbed Hunter and Gus' hands, dragging them both to the machine. "We're playing skeeball right now!"

Meanwhile, Willow was also walking around the arcade looking for something fun to play, unfortunately, none of the games seemed to interest her.

That was until one particular game caught her eye, a game called 'Fight Fighters' that had a group of kids surrounding it.

She looked over their shoulders and quickly realized that it was one of those fighting games that Luz showed her and the others for game night the other week.

Two kids were fighting against each other in the game, the first kid was winning against the second kid.

"I’ll beat you this time!" The second kid said as they selected their characters. The first kid selected a character named Rumble, then the second kid selected Dr. Karate.

Once the stage was selected a cutscene played on the game.

"Dr. Karate!” Rumble yelled at his opponent. “You killed my father again!"

"HHNNGHHH!!!" Was all Dr. Karate could say in response which seemed to be somehow understood by Rumble.

"You take that BAAACKKK!!!" Rumble shouted as the round began.

The kid playing Rumble was easily beating the kid playing Dr. Karate with little to no effort. He wasn't even a single health point. As the fight went on, Willow studied the screen, the characters’ movements, and the buttons being mashed. Soon enough, the match was over. With one swift kick, Dr. Karate was down.

“K.O.! THE WINNER: RUMBLE MCSKIRMISH!”

"Winners don't lose!" Rumble said as the kid cheered for his victory.

"Yeah! Who wants some!?" The kid challenged all the nearby bystanders. None of the kids were ready to face him, not prepared to face the humiliating defeat. Some of them tried to avoid eye contact, others whistled away, pretending to be inconspicuous. One person stepped forward.

"I'll play," Willow said, raising her hand as the kid scoffed, he selected Rumble again. The plant girl looked through all the characters.

Dr. Karate? No. Czar-barian? Yawn… Ooh, she looks fun.

“RUMBLE MCSKIRMISH VS SUGGESSICA”

“Suggessica, you broke up with me!?” Rumble cried.

“We weren’t even dating!” Suggesica fired back.

Round one began. Willow struggled with her character at first. Which button is to kick again, she internally thought. She looked up from the screen and down at the buttons, struggling to keep up with her opponent. Sure enough, Suggessica was down.

"Ha! In your face!" The kid said arrogantly, Willow only laughed a little.

"That was fun!” Willow cheered, only causing the kid to be confused. Little did the child know, the all-time Flyer Derby superstar learns from her mistake. And this time, she was determined to obliterate this brat.

"See Amity? This isn't so bad!" Luz said as she inserted the quarters into the air hockey machine for another round.

Amity had to get used to this weird game, but she quickly found it fun and completely forgot about the fact that she was in Freddy Fazbear's, laughing along with Luz as they went a couple of rounds in the game.

Luz looked around after their 10th game and noticed a claw machine filled with plushies and had an idea: recreate those romance scenes where the main character wins a plushie for their love interest! She runs over to the claw machine and puts her quarters in as Amity stands beside her.

"Didn't you say these things are rigged to steal as much money as possible?" Amity asked her girlfriend.

"Yeah, but I've gotten better at these games! I can win you a plushie easily!" Luz said with absolute confidence, deciding she should get a Freddy plush. She positions the claw over the Freddy doll and presses the button making the claw descend and grab her prize easily.

The claw rises with the plush in its grasp and drops it down the chute, Luz claims her prize and presents it to Amity. "Tada! For you my lovely!"

Amity giggled at the gesture. "Awe, thank you!" Ignoring whose likeness the plushie was, she never refuses her girlfriend’s gifts. She took the plushie in her hands, and then the lights dim. An announcer can be heard in the speakers as he enthusiastically began the show.

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, put your hands together for the one. The only. Freddy Fazbear!" Soon after, the curtains on the front stage opened up revealing Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica.

"Hello everybody!” Freddy greeted with delight in his voice, and the kids cheered in excitement. “It's good to be back! Now let's get this party started!" He, Bonnie, and Chica started singing some really catchy song.

Cause it's Freddy Fazbear's Pizza

For kids, it's number one!

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza

Where fantasy meets fun!

"Well let's meet the band!"

My name is Freddy, I'm the singer in the band!

Got a hat and a big bowtie!

I'm a big brown bear, but don't be scared!

I'm a real fun lovin' guy!

Bonnie's my name, I'm hopping along

Floppy ears and a cotton tail!

My guitar is blazing, this rabbit's hare raising

Just listen to me wail! (Take it, Bonnie!)

Bonnie does a guitar solo, barely moving his large robotic fingers.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza

Get your pizza by the pound!

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza

Where all the kids are safe and sound!

Hey, I'm Chica, the lady of the group

My singing is a treat! (So sweet!)

But keep an eye on your pizza

'Cause I'm a bird who likes to eat!

Nam-nam-nam-nam!

Finally, there's Foxy

One eye and a hook for a hand!

He hangs out over in Pirate's Cove

Now you've met all the members of the band!

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza

The fun just can't be beat!

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza

It's time for us to eat!

The stupidly catchy song was over and Freddy began to speak. "It's good to be back to entertain kids again."

"I'll say!” Bonnie said to Freddy. Then he turned to the crowd. “Howdy kiddos!"

"I can't believe we've been gone for that long!" Chica commented.

"I agree, it's been way too long," Freddy added on.

Amity was even more freaked out by Freddy and friends. They looked even creepier in real life than on TV. Just when things couldn’t get any worse, she looked down to avoid seeing the disturbing robots, and noticed more children wearing masks looking right at her. Freaked out, she tried to back away, all the way to Pirates Cove and bumping into the small stage.

"Argh matey!” the recently revealed animatronic fox shouted as the curtains opened up. “Who dares disturb Captain Foxy?!"

Amity turns and screams as Foxy comes out of his cove.

"Argh!” the robot continued. “I'll make ye walk the plank for disturbing me alone time!" Foxy turns his robotic head back and forth and raised his hooked hand.

Amity quickly grabs a nearby plastic knife from a table and attempted to stab Foxy as Luz quickly held her back.

"DIE YOU MONSTER!!!" Amity screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Amity stop, it's just an act!!" Luz shouted trying to calm her girlfriend down.

"Keep it down, ya scallywags! I'm trying to sleep!" Foxy shouts angrily as he turns his head towards where Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica are.

"Aw, calm down Foxy,” Bonnie said in a very mellow tone, like he didn't take anything that was happening seriously. “We're just trying to entertain the kids."

Foxy was silent for a few seconds, looking around as Amity was still trying to attack him with the plastic knife.

"Children are here!?" The curtains quickly closed like he retreated back into his cove.

Amity stopped her attempted assault, baffled by Foxy's reaction to children being present before the cove opened back up again.

"Welcome to the Pirate Cove, landlubbers!” Foxy said with absolute showmanship in his voice, sounding very excited to be there. “Who here be ready for an adventure worthy of the Seven Seas?"

"See? Just an act." Luz reassured Amity again, rubbing her shoulders to de-tense her.

Amity breathed for a few seconds, stunned by Foxy retreating back into his cove. Realizing he wasn't going to attack her.

"Oh..." She slowly lowered the plastic knife. She suddenly realized that she made such a scene, and her face turned red as a tomato before running off in pure embarrassment. A little girl next to Luz ate a piece of her cotton candy, witnessing the whole event.

"Your girlfriend is weird," the child said before she continued eating her sweet treat.

Luz groans before walking over to where Amity ran off to, she was still covering her face while she sat at one of the tables

"I can't believe I got freaked out over something so stupid," Amity muttered to herself.

"Hey, c'mon. I remember when I first came to the Demon Realm, I wasn't exactly at my best either. A fairy wanted to eat my skin." Luz chuckled at the memory. "She had pointy teeth like that thing." Luz then sat down next to Amity.

"Luz, I know you're trying to make me feel better, but I-" Amity tried to say before getting cut off by an employee setting down a couple of slices of pizza in front of the couple

"Uh, sorry, we didn't order any-" Luz tried to say before the employee interrupted her.

"It's on the house,” the employee quickly said. “You're not the only one creeped out by that pirate." The employee winked at Amity before walking off to do whatever his job was.

Luz and Amity looked at each other before Amity grabbed a slice of pizza and began munching on it while Luz popped a lactaid pill in her mouth before grabbing a slice.

Camila was overflowing with nostalgia as Freddy and friends sang their song. They looked just as she remembered them. Admittedly, their voices were different, which unsettled Camila a little, but she understood that times changed. It must have been a new voice replacement because it was so rustic, or even needing some new friendly sounding voices for a new generation of kids. Either way, she felt right back at home in her deepest childhood memories.

And when Foxy came out she heard someone scream out of pure terror, shouting, "DIE YOU MONSTER!" It was unmistakably Amity's voice, which made Camila laugh a little and made her remember the first time she saw Foxy. Out of all the animatronics, it was almost universally agreed upon that the pirate robot was by far the creepiest one, at least upon first sight.

Seeing the band again was amazing to Camila. However, she noticed something odd.

"Wasn't there a fifth one?" Camila asked herself as she looked around.

She got up from her seat and walked up to an employee.

"Can I help you ma'am?" The employee asked her.

"I was wondering if you had a fifth character here," Camila stated clearly which made the employee raise an eyebrow at her.

"Uh… There is no fifth character here. We just have the four." He answered honestly, which made Camila even more confused.

"But I remember meeting a fifth character when I used to come here. A yellow one."

"Sorry, but even back then we just had the four." It disappointed Camila that she couldn't get an answer so she thanked the employee for the help and decided to ask a few more employees, only for all of them to say the same thing. There was never a fifth animatronic.

Camila was getting confused now, she could have sworn that there was a fifth member of Freddy's band, she remembered meeting him right before the place closed for good. Could she have been mistaken? No, she thought. She was sure there was another one. But what was it?

Hunter counted his tickets and sighed, only 500.

"Check it out, Hunter. You could get a small candy or a little finger toy." Gus points to the items behind the glass counter.

"I can't believe this is what I have to show for it,” Hunter complained. ”It's impossible to get thousands of tickets." Just as he lamented his failure, Vee walked up to the prize counter.

Vee places several stacks of tickets on the counter, stupefying the blonde teen.

"What can I get for 5,000 tickets?" Vee beamed in excitement.

The employee's eyes widened a little from how many tickets the kid managed to win before answering her question. "Oh, you could get a laser gun, a board game, or some plushies."

Vee looked over all the prizes she could get, she thought about getting a Bonnie plushie until her eyes landed on a doll.

"Ooh! I'll take that one!" She points to the doll worth 5,000 tickets

"That thing? Uh... You sure you don't want a Freddy Fazbear plush? Or anything else?" The employee seemed genuinely confused that Vee wanted that specific prize.

"Nope, that one" Vee points to the doll again.

"OK, it's your tickets." The employee grabs the doll and hands it to Vee.

The doll had a white face that looked like a mask, with black, hollow eyes. Its face is similar to that of a Pierrot, with rosy red cheeks, purple stripes that stretch from the bottom of its eyes to the top of its mouth, and red lipstick painted on in an exaggerated pucker.

Its body is somewhat reminiscent of a sock monkey's, with its round, oblong shape, thin waist, three white buttons, rounded hands that feature three spindly fingers each, and white stripes on the wrists and ankles, along with a thin, long neck. It has no feet, but its legs are tapered to a point. It has neither hair nor head accessories, and it was quite lanky too.

Vee beamed with excitement and hugged the puppet tightly before turning to Gus and Hunter. "Well go ahead and get your prizes!"

Gus spent his tickets on a Bonnie mask while Hunter spent his on a Foxy finger puppet.

Camila has made zero progress on the whereabouts of that fifth character she met all those years ago, but she did spot her daughter and her girlfriend eating pizza.

"Are you two having fun?" Camila asks the couple as she sits down across from them.

"Yeah, although Amity didn't react to that fox character too well," Luz responded as Amity groaned with embarrassment.

"Aw don't feel bad, I thought Foxy was creepy at first too." Camila comforted, stroking Amity's hand to make her feel better.

Amity looks up at Camila. "You tried to attack that pirate guy with a plastic knife too?"

Camila chuckled nervously a little. "Uh... No... But I did cry when I first saw him." She laughed at the memory. The woman looked to where Foxy was as little kids ran around him. "Now he just looks funny."

Some time later Gus, Hunter, and Vee found the three girls.

"We're back!" Gus announces as the three sat down with the others.

"Did you guys get anything with your tickets?" Camila asked with genuine interest in her voice.

Hunter sighed a little. "I only had enough for a small candy or a finger toy." He holds up the Foxy-themed finger toy he bought.

Gus holds up his Bonnie mask. “Check it out! Pretty cool, huh?

Luz, Camila, and Amity then notice the small toy that Vee had in her arms, all confused by it.

"What character is that?" Camila asked, having never seen that doll before.

"My puppet!" Vee said excitedly like she was a small child with their favorite toy.

The six of them all talked about their day at Freddy's until Amity realized that someone was missing.

"Hey, where's Willow?" Amity looked around the pizzeria trying to find her friend

"Uh... We last saw her wandering around the arcade." Hunter pointed towards the arcade.

The kid was struggling to keep up with Willow's combos in the second round… of Game 5. Willow was on a roll. After her first-round loss, she quickly dominated in the second round and beyond. She was insanely good for someone who claims to be playing Fight Fighters for the first time.

Tried as he might, Rumble was no match for Suggesica.

"FINISH HIM" The game announcer says

Willow moved her character erratically, making Suggesica punch Rumble's face, perform helicopter and bicycle kicks, pummeling him with her swift feet.

"SUGGESICA WINS"

Suggesica made a mocking peace sign like an anime heroine.

"You win some, you lose some." The character said.

The kids cheered as Willow shouted in victory!

“I WIN AGAIN! Let’s go another round!”

"I'm sure we'll see her eventually," Gus said before taking a big bite out of his slice of pizza.

Hunter puts on the Foxy finger puppet and wags his finger around. He looked over to Amity and had an idea. He gently poked the jittered girl’s cheek with the Foxy puppet several times teasingly.

"Can you not?" Amity said after Hunter poked her a few times.

"What ye gonna do?” Hunter asked in a hilariously bad pirate accent. “Stab me with a plastic knife?"

"Keep it up, and it'll be a real one." Amity threatened however Hunter just looked past her and tried to keep in his laughter.

"Hey Amity..." Gus said Amity turned to her right only to be met with Gus wearing his Bonnie mask. "BOO!"

Amity screamed and almost fell out of her chair while Hunter and Gus laughed like hyenas.

"Boys stop teasing her." Camila scolded the two. Luz looked around and actually spotted Willow amongst a crowd of kids playing against another kid, she got up and walked over to where Willow was and noticed that she was playing Fight Fighters and was winning.

She looked at the wins and realized that Willow had 49 wins compared to the kid's 20 wins.

Soon after Willow won, Luz made her presence known and told her friend to come eat. Willow, being the good sport that she is, thanked the kid for playing with her. Luz looked back to see that the kid had a flabbergasted look on his face.

"Did you see me out there!? I was like ’POW! KICK PUNCH! TURN AROUND! WHAM!’ Luz, we gotta get that game!" Willow bounced up and down with excitement as they arrived at the table.

Willow immediately noticed Hunter's little finger puppet. "Oh, that's a nice toy you got there Hunter, where did you get it?"

"Um... it was a prize?" Hunter answered honestly.

"Awe, it's so cute!" Willow genuinely meant it, but Hunter thought she was patronizing him.

Willow sat down and grabbed one of the nearby Chica-themed bibs and examined it, making a small comment on how silly it looked before putting it down and taking a bite of pizza.

The kids had lots of fun just talking to each other about things that have happened in recent memory, so much so that they didn't realize that Camila had left for a while before Luz wanted to ask her something.

Luz got up from her seat and went to look for her, she found her mother standing in front of the stage looking at Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica with a sad look on her face.

Luz wasn't blind, she noticed that Camila looked sad since yesterday. "Mom...? Are you okay?"

"Oh... yeah I'm fine, really, go have fun with the others-" Camila tried to assure her daughter but she wasn't having it.

"You've looked down since yesterday, what's wrong?" Luz stepped a little closer to her human mother.

"It's fine, really." Camila tried to assure Luz again but to no avail.

"If there's anything I learned since coming to the Boiling Isles and stopping Belos, it's that you shouldn't bottle up your problems... Remember how I was after the Day of Unity?" Camila sighed, her daughter had an excellent point.

"The truth is..." Camila let out a heavy breath. "We're behind on some bills." Luz instantly knew what that meant, they could lose the house if they weren’t paid soon.

"Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Luz felt her emotions rising, she didn't want to lose the house even though she knew Eda would let them stay at the Owl House in a heartbeat.

"I wanted you kids to have at least one last day of fun without worrying about me." Camila ran her fingers through Luz's curly hair.

Luz stayed silent for a moment, letting this information sink in. "How long do we have?" She quietly asked.

"Two weeks mija, I'm going to work overtime in hopes of getting extra money." Luz's heart sank when she heard that, she didn't want her mom to be stressed and tired from all of this. She needed to think of a way to help and she needed to figure it out now.

"Would it be fine if I tell everyone now?" Camila asked, looking over to where the other kids were, all laughing over something.

"Yeah... I guess. If you don't then, I'll probably tell them..." Luz was trying to think of a way to help her mother, just then a light bulb went off in her head. "What if I get a job?"

"That would actually help me a lot," Camila admitted, though hesitantly. “But who’d be willing to hire a teenager right now?”

"Well, if you need a job,” a charismatic voice said behind the two, “I got a place for you right here." The mother and daughter turned around and saw a man in his mid-40s, wearing a black business suit.

"Uh... I'm sorry who are you?" Camila asked the man, tilting her head to the side.

"Oh sorry, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Matt Parvesh, the manager of this establishment." A manager showing up out of the blue to offer the girl a job? Safe to say, the two women were a bit suspicious.

"... What kind of job?" Luz curiously asked Mr. Parvesh

"There's an opening for a night guard,” the man explained. “I need someone to look after the building after closing. Y'know, making sure everything is alright before opening." Camila was a little concerned.

"That sounds a bit much for a teenager." Camila expressed. That kind of job sounded too stressful for Luz.

Mr. Parvesh however assured Camila "C'mon, it's the summers. She's gonna need the experience. Plus, after she finishes the week, we'll move her to the day shift."

One thing didn't make sense to Luz though, and as such she expressed her question. "You're open, but you just need a night guard?"

"Well, we had one, but we're switching him to the day shift. So hey, think about it." Mr. Parvesh gave Camila a card that had his phone number on it before walking off.

Luz's face turned into one of excitement, knowing that this was the perfect opportunity. Camila told everyone about her money problem soon after and that Luz was offered a job as a security guard at night. Luz said that she was going to get that job and help her mom with paying the bills, to the dismay of Amity...

"What!? You want to work here... At night?!" Amity could not believe what she heard her girlfriend say.

"That's right, but only for a week,” Luz explained to her friends. “And if I do a good job then they'll switch me over to the dayshift.”

Hunter then wrapped an arm around his sister figure and gave her some advice.

"If you spot an Intruder, go for the leg first. That'll incapacitate them."

Luz gave out a nervous chuckle, knowing that he was being serious about the advice. "I'll be fine Hunter, besides who breaks into a children's pizzeria?"

"You never know, dear sister…” Hunter said, deathly serious. “You never know..." Luz removed his arm from herself.

"Look I'll be fine, I'll just be looking at cameras for 6 hours straight with nothing interesting going on, and certainly no life-threatening situations," Luz reassured her friends and family.

Camila sighed, ultimately giving in to the idea of Luz working at her childhood restaurant. "Well, if you're really sure about this, then I trust you. If anything happens, be sure to call me. I mean it."

"I will mamá." Luz kissed Camila's and Amity's cheeks before running off to find the manager's office.

Luz knocked on the door and heard Mr. Parvesh called her in. She entered the manager's office and sat down at the chair in front of the desk.

"You'll take my offer I'm assuming?" He asked Luz, putting down the document he was reading.

"Yes sir!" Luz said with excitement in her voice. "Do I get the job?"

"I understand you're excited, but you still need to be interviewed. Do you think you can come by tomorrow morning?" Luz thought for a moment before nodding. "Alright then, I'll see you tomorrow!"

With the interview secured, Luz's friends all decided to give her a full makeover to ensure she gets the job.

Willow and Vee went off to find Luz a nice outfit to wear, coming back with a beautiful-looking red blazer dress. Amity combed Luz's hair and washed it. (and definitely did not spend an hour just playing with Luz's hair). Gus asked Luz several mock questions, going over them multiple times. And finally, Hunter presses Luz's dress and makes sure that it looks presentable for her to wear.

Luz checked herself out in front of the mirror, spinning around a few times. Her best friends and siblings gave her assuring thumbs-ups while Amity's whole face was red from just looking at Luz.

Luz soon saw everyone off and went off to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

"I'm glad you decided to apply for the job Ms. Noceda,” Mr. Parvesh said as he sat down in his chair, followed by Luz. “I promise that this will be over quickly."

"I'm glad I could make it Mr. Parvesh! I'm extremely nervous about this though..." Luz said sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Well, this will be a good thing for someone of your age... If you get the job..." Mr. Parvesh chuckled a little. "Now for your first question: Can you stay up all night?"

"Yes sir! I can absolutely stay up for however many hours you need me to!"

"Good good... Second question: Are you willing to watch cameras all night?"

"Yes... sir...?”

Mr. Parvesh then stood up and said, "Congratulations, you're hired!"

"Wait, huh?? That's it!?" Luz made a few confused noises as she processed this. She could have came in with a letterman jacket and bed hair, and she’d still get the job. All that work her friends put into was apparently for nothing.

"Yes, you begin tonight. Your shift lasts from 12 am to 6 am, I'll go grab your uniform." Mr. Parvesh walked over to the nearby closet and pulled out a purple uniform similar to what the employees were wearing and handed it over to Luz.

"I... uh..." Luz was still confused as she stared at the uniform.

"I'll be here before your shift starts and show you where the office is. Have a good day..." Mr. Parvesh gives Luz her name tag. "And welcome to the Fazbear Family."
