Chapter Text
Hall of Truth, Liveseyd.
3 figures walked along the halls of truth. A muffled laugh echoed through the chamber as a very annoyed pirate hunter glared at the lunatic who had his arms spread. The "lunatic" was doing his best to hold back his laughter.
" Look, that isn't cold enough, right?"
"Cold? Then I’ll directly press the Unshadowed Crucifix against your head! If you don’t want your Beyonder characteristic, donate it to the people who need it!" Without being able to use Cogitation to control his thoughts, Klein instinctively retorted.
"…" Audrey looked at Mr. World and then at Mr. Star, and her heart skipped a beat. "So they have so much drama in their hearts… I could only tell that was the case for Mr. Star, but I failed to read what’s under The World’s poker face. Uh… Jiant, Boss, Minnie…"
At crucial moments like this, the experienced Audrey forcibly manipulated her thoughts to begin reciting names so as to stop her thoughts from wandering off.
"Who are they?" Leonard’s attention was diverted.
"They’re the hounds and horses my family rears," Audrey replied politely.
"A hound costs 450 pounds…" Klein suddenly recalled Butler Walter’s suggestion of buying a batch of hunting dogs when he purchased Maygur Manor.
"Why is the first thing on Mr. World’s mind the price…?" This question floated into Audrey’s mind.
Leonard pursed his lips. Even though he didn’t say a word, he answered, "Isn’t this normal? This fellow has always been a little picky about this, I remember…"
Before he could "finish," Klein coughed lightly and said, "We’ll continue exploring the other areas, when we have time, we will inspect the murals.
"Sigh, this hall really complicates matters very easily. The main point is that everyone’s privacy is brought to the forefront if we aren’t focused…"
Upon hearing the last sentence of his complaint, Audrey and Leonard couldn’t help but laugh out loud-but not by their own will.
Seeing that Mr. World clearly didn’t want the situation to develop into chaos again, Audrey looked around. Her gaze lands on a peculiar mural in the corner of the hall. "Mr. World, Mr. Star, there's a strange mural over there. " she exclaimed.
Klein and Leonard followed her line of sight, the trio then walked cautiously, observing the mural. X blurred figures were circled below what seemed like a mythical being. Wings and a pair of horns erupting from its head.
Klein couldn't help but feel a strange sense of familiarity.
"could this be another incident like Groselle's Travels? A story before Groselle perhaps? No, not possible, the dragon of imagination only made one book, at least from what I have discovered. If Groselle's Travels were to start with a different story then it wouldn't be Groselle's travels, but a different title. Unless the title changed at some point. The mythical being also doesn't look familiar. If that's the case, then whoever made this mural- Mr. Star, what do you think you're doing?"
Klein's echoed analysis paused when he saw Leonard walk towards the mural. Leonard glanced back and grinned. "It's a wall, Klein, It's not like it's an enemy. Besides, what can go wrong?" Leonard stopped in his tracks as he examined the Mural.
"What is with these people? They look more like they are doing something they don't want to do. " Audrey spoke as she walked up behind Leonard, not too far behind her, was Klein.
" Maybe this person in the middle was their friend who lost control?"
"Perhaps, but why would they show this here. " Klein couldn't help but to scrutinize the mural. Something about the way these people looked was familiar to him, but he couldn't quite pinpoint why. He stood beside Leonard while scanning the mural, arms crossed with the Crucifix clenched in his hand.
Leonard regarded Klein for a moment. "Klein seems to be very curious about this mural." his voice echoed in the Hall, Leonard unconsciously covered his mouth. Klein glared at Leonard, causing the taller man to shuffle away from him. In fear of the previous threat. Klein sighed deeply.
" It's just odd, that's all. Let's continue forward-" a soft voice interrupted him.
"Mr. World, Mr. Star, there's something strange with the mural…" The two watched as Audrey got closer to the mural, Leonard followed not too far from her and the man, woman duo stopped a couple feet from the mural.
At a close distance, they understood what Ms. Justice meant by strange. The mural itself was moving ever so slightly as if it was the afterimage of a heatwave. Klein frowned as he got a warning from his spiritual intuition and pulled out a coin. He mentally chanted " is there something dangerous related to the mural." he flipped the coin. Audrey had looked back in hopes of hearing Mr. World's divination. Leonard however, was starting to get anxious. He knew Klein wouldn't do anything if he didn't think it was possible. He started slowly moving him and Audrey backwards towards Klein.
The coin landed in his palm, Positive , "shit step away from the mural!" Klein called out. Leonard quickly grabbed Audrey's arm and turned around to begin running. Meanwhile Klein bolted towards them, in hopes of grabbing them and sending everyone back to the Sefirah castle.
At that moment, a bright light erupted from the center of the horned figure in the mural. The light quickly engulfed everything in its surroundings, even the 3 beyonders. As Klein became blinded by the blazing light, everything faded to darkness…..
