Work Text:

If there’s one thing Suguru loves - it’s spending time with his boy.

The smell of chocolate chip cookies fills up their shared apartment they started renting after they graduated Jujutsu High. Suguru has taken a liking to baking, and while it relaxes him - it provides Satoru with endless of his favorite snacks : sweets.

“‘Toru! Cookies are ready!” Suguru calls out while putting on an oven-mit, and taking the cookies out of the oven, setting the sheet on the stove. He takes off the oven-mit, and opens the fridge, grabbing some milk and two glasses.

He waits for a moment, listens, and smiles to himself as he hears eager footsteps come down the stairs. They’re light taps, because Satoru had taken his shoes off when he arrived home earlier this morning. Now he rounds the corner in sweatpants and a hoodie along with his fuzzy socks, almost slipping but using Infinity as an automatic precaution to help balance himself. His stuffed cat is in his arms, and his blindfold is nowhere to be seen.

“Am here!” Satoru exclaims loudly, bouncing into the kitchen. “Smells good!”

“Were you playing upstairs?” Suguru asks, pouring the glasses of milk.

Satoru nods, eyes lingering on the cookies. “With my dinosaurs.”

“Did you clean them up?”

“... no.”

Suguru gives him a look, “‘Toru.”

Satoru groans, “Nobody is seeing them… but me, so… I don’t wanna.”

“You can clean them later. For now, we have milk and cookies to eat. Do you want to pick the movie?” Suguru questions, “the TV remote is on the table.”

“But I want..” Satoru points to the cookies. “Can I?”

“Sorry, sweetheart, but they have to cool down.” Suguru grabs his spatula because the other dishes are dirty in the dishwasher, and scoops the cookies, putting them on the plate. “Go pick a movie, honey. I’ll be there soon.”

“... Promise…?”

Suguru holds out his pinky, smiling with Satoru wraps his own around it. “Promise.”

Satoru’s face brightens as he turns around, heading back to the living room. Suguru takes his time in the kitchen, letting Satoru take his time to pick out a movie because for some reason it takes him forever. He watches from a distance as Satoru is rubbing one of his eyes as he scrolls through movies on the TV, a tell-tale sign of him getting tired. He’s had a long day, so has Suguru.

He finishes plating and carries the plate along with the tow glasses of milk to the coffee table in front of the couch. Satoru sits down on the couch, eyeing Suguru until he sits down on the couch with him. He smiles, scooting in close without any hesitation. “Wanna cuddle.”

“I know, I know.” Suguru presses a kiss to his forehead. “Let’s eat first, okay? We got cookies, and we don’t need to spill any, right?”

Satoru pouts, “but… I won’t spill.. I won’t be bad.”

He’s timid, when he’s so young. Suguru has come to learn this since they’ve started this dynamic. Satoru told him he got scolded a lot when he was younger, and sometimes those mannerisms he developed are so deep rooted they show through Satoru when he’s Little.

But, they’ve talked about this, and Suguru always does his best. He pushes Satoru’s hair back from his forehead, and presses a kiss there. “Just because you make messes doesn’t mean you’re bad, ‘toru. I make messes, and I’m big. Everyone does.”

“Ma did not like it..”

Suguru shakes his head, “baby, your Ma isn’t here.” He says, reaching a hand behind Satoru and rubbing his back. “I’ll never do what your Ma did. You know why?”

“Cause you’re ‘ru!” Satoru beams.

“That’s right,” Suguru smiles. “Now, let's watch some movies and we can cuddle all night since you’ve already had your bath.”

“All nice and clean,” Satoru hands Suguru the remote. “Here go.”

“Thank you.” Suguru presses play and sets the remote down.

Eating the cookies didn’t take very long considering it’s Satoru’s favorite snacks. He didn’t drink his whole glass of milk though, because he claims he doesn’t like the taste. He like chocolate milk plenty, however, it’s his favorite thing to drink besides apple juice. Just more sugar, Suguru thinks to himself.

Now that he’s full and tired, Satoru is cuddled against Suguru, practically mushing their bodies together. He’s trying his hardest to stay awake, blinking slowly, eyelids heavy. Suguru had moved so he laid on his back, bringing Satoru up to rest his head on his chest to hear his heartbeat. His sunglasses are on the coffee table, and Suguru is watching adoringly as Satoru tries so desperately hard to stay awake.

He fights sleep so often just to spend more time with Suguru, and it makes Suguru’s heart swell because of how much Satoru loves him. Suguru’s hand is carding through his pure white hair, swirling the strands between his fingers as he pretends to focus on the movie. Honestly, he’s trying to put Satoru to sleep because after being on missions for the last few days, he needs it.

Moving one hand down, he begins to pat Satoru’s back. This always gets him, and Suguru tries not to laugh when he sees Satoru’s eyes fully closed after a few seconds. The combination of fingers carding through hair, scratching his scalp, and a warm hand patting his back. He’s under a fluffy blanket since it’s the middle of winter, and in his favorite pajamas - full of milk and cookies.

Satoru brings one of his hands up and rubs at his mouth, and once he lets out a little whine, Suguru reaches for the coffee table. He grabs the clear plastic case, opens it, and brings a pacifier to Satoru’s lips. “Here, baby.”

When Satoru opens his mouth, Suguru pops the pacifier in, and Satoru nuzzles his face back into Suguru’s chest. Suguru pulls the blanket up to his chin with a smile, “are you fighting sleep?”

“Nu uh,” Satoru closes his eyes, letting out a sigh. “M’not…”

“You are,” Suguru kisses the top of his head. “You’re sleepy, so sleep, ‘toru. You’re tired, you worked hard this week.”

“M’strong.”

Suguru nods, “you are, honey. But the strongest needs to sleep. And you are, mister sleepy head.”

Satoru whines, and Suguru can feel a fit coming on. He squeezes his eyes shut, “I know!”

He just lets Satoru work through his emotions, continuing to pat his back and play with his hair. “Shhh… it’s alright, ‘toru.”

It can be pretty often that Satoru fights sleep. He doesn’t really like it either. Suguru wishes he did, because it would make things easier, but Satoru’s childhood has a lot of trouble revolving around sleep and having his Infinity off. He only sleeps around Suguru, a person that he’s found safe. He’s never had that before.

Which is one of the reasons why Suguru had him drink milk and eat  cookies and take a bath before, all to relax him. Putting Satoru to sleep can be a chore sometimes.

“Mask, p’ease?” Satoru asks after taking a few deep breaths, and peeks up at Suguru.

“Do your eyes hurt, baby?”

“No,” Satoru closes them. “Sleep better.”

There’s an extra eye mask to help block out external light in the same spot that Suguru keeps a pacifier for Satoru. He spikes up Satoru’s hair, putting the eye mask on, and smiling when he sees how much more relaxed Satoru is. He hums softly, embracing the warmth that is Suguru.

After that, it doesn’t take long for Satoru to fall asleep. His breathing changes deep, body relaxed, his full body weight against Suguru.

He decides they won’t make it to sleeping in their bedroom, because Suguru falls asleep right after him with no shame.
