Chapter 1: Playdate

Chapter Text

Billie Joe was a Little, there had never been a doubt in his parents' minds.

As soon as he was a toddler, all the signs of his possible future presentation were there; at age 2 and a half, he was still small and needed the same attention he needed as a newborn.

The Armstrongs were a bit taken aback; none of their children had presented as Littles till that moment.

However, two of their daughters, Anna and Maci, had had presented as Caregivers; but Billie Joe, being the youngest of 6, was probably gonna be a Little.

By the time he was 16, it was official; his body hadn't developed the same way the body of someone with another presentation would have developed.

Ollie had taken him to his doctor, a woman who was specialised in the well being of Littles and she had run the usual blood test.

This time, it had come back positive; Billie Joe Armstrong was officially a Little.

She had enrolled him in a special faculty, in order for him to possibly find one or more caretakers and they had been incredibly lucky.

The matching program had paired him up with Adrienne Nesser, a gentle, slightly older girl who was a Caretaker and was waiting for the perfect match.

The first few meetings were for assessing the situation and if it was a right match; Ollie had been incredibly nervous, because it would have been the first time Billie would have been interacting with someone outside of the family.

Adie had been a pleasant surprise, however; after some initial shyness, Billie had warmed up to her immediately and had cried a lot when she needed to go.

When it had been clear that the Little was comfortable and attached to Adrienne, he had moved into her house.

It had been emotional for Ollie, seeing her baby leave home, but Billie was happy and content with his new Caretaker, so the older woman's heart was also at peace.

It was going to be okay.

Adrienne had been taking care of Billie for years now.

They had a nice, easy routine, which mostly evolved around the Little's needs.

There was also a new addition to the family; Mike Pritchard, one of Adie's oldest friends and also a Caretaker, had joined them some years before.

Ollie was happy that her son had also a male figure in his life, especially after the premature death of Andy, Billie's biological father.

Although she wasn't sure if he could remember him, as Billie had never grown out of the babyhood and toddlerhood phases, she knew how much Billie had loved him.

Mike had fitted in right from the start, even though he needed to be evaluated first to see if he was also a right match.

Billie Joe had grown incredibly attached to him as well, always seeking out his presence and Ollie and Adie couldn't be happier, especially as Mike treated Billie as his own son.

Aged 22, Billie Joe hadn't grown much, which was pretty normal for people with his presentation.

He was barely 4'9", making it a bit tricky for Adie, who was only 5'4", to carry comfortably, but they always made it work.

Mike, being 5'10", could carry him without any troubles, even when Billie was in his youngest headspace and wouldn't hold himself to aid his caretakers.

Little individuals usually had different ranges of headspace; some could grow as old as 10 years old.

Billie Joe, however, was in quite a young headspace range, his youngest being only a couple of months old and his oldest being around 2 years old.

He was usually around 18 months old, regressing to his newborn headspace when sick or hurt or scared, but that was incredibly okay with his family.

Adie and Mike had a lot of Caretakers friends, so they were often busy with playdates.

"Mommy!"

Sara Lipert was possibly Adrienne's best friend and was a wonderful Caretaker.

Her Little was a boy named Frank, who liked getting called Trè.

The Little was always older than Billie, being around 3 or 5 years old, so he was more of a handful and the other two had often babysat him.

Trè walked towards the two women, eyes wide and mouth full of cookie crumbs.

Sara giggled and gently wiped his mouth clean, making him whine and grunt grumpily.

She passed her boy a little plastic sippy cup full of apple juice, which made the Little beam; however, his head quickly fell to the side as he watched the other Little.

"Why is he doing that?"
"That what, Trè?" asked Sara, confused. Trè's eyebrows knitted, "Why is he eating from his mommy's boobie?"

Adie giggled, cradling Billie in her arms; the Little, who was currently in a headspace close to 7 months old, was often alternating between breast milk and baby food.

More solid foods were reserved for when he was a bit older and closer to 1 year of age.

He was suckling on her nipple, huge green eyes staring awestruck at his mommy.

She was amused by the other little boy's curiosity.

"He is too little to eat like you."

"But he ate all the baby food!" He exclaimed, eyes wide.

Adie nodded, "He did, yeah. He can and will eat soft foods, but he also needs his mommy's milk."

Trè made an 'oooh' sound, climbing on the couch between his mommy and friend, bringing his sippy cup to his mouth. He kept staring in fascination at the nursing little boy.

Sara cuddled him a little, making him giggle.

Suddenly, Billie unlatched from the breast, mouth still stained with milk and she sat him up, patting his back to make him burp.

"He burped!" giggled Tré, finding it extremely amusing and Billie immediately started giggling as well.

The black haired baby craved the physical contact with his mommy and nursing was her favourite time; having his body close to hers, knowing that she was nourishing him, and feeling his small hands hold onto her was always amazing.

Sometimes she was doing it for her own, selfish needs rather than Billie being unable to eat anything else. It always helped him relax though, so she never discouraged him from doing it.

Adie leaned down to kiss his forehead and then his chubby cheeks, making him beam in delight and kick his legs with a loud coo.

He was on the smaller side, with chubby, smooth skinned cheeks. Since he was a Little, his body was unable to grow any body hair aside from the head full of black locks and his long eyelashes.

His huge green eyes were his biggest way to communicate, as he was more often than not non-verbal.

His sweet little noises were sometimes turned into words when he was old enough to actually express himself.

Mama and Dada were two of his most used words.

Adie and Mike had tried to potty train him for a while, but were unable to do it, as Billie would just not remember to tell them his needs.

They were keeping him diapered, with the occasional training panties being worn at home when he was a bit older, but they hadn't bought him any big boy underwear yet.

"Mommy, I need the potty!"

Sara stood up and helped the Little on his feet, encouraging him to run towards the bathroom.

Adie stood up as well, "I need to change this stinky little boy," she said, kissing the Little's nose and Billie giggled, "Mama!"

They walked towards the bathroom and Sara helped Trè, while Adie laid Billie on the changing table.

Billie had put his thumb in his mouth and was sucking calmly, giggling whenever his mommy was tickling his belly.

"Ew, Billie pooped himself!" Exclaimed Tré, watching the other and Adie nodded, "He did. He wears diapers for that reason!"

"Can't he use the potty?" "He's not a big boy, he doesn't know better."

The smaller Little was now watching Trè, his thumb in his mouth and his huge innocent eyes staring at the other.

Trè looked at his mommy, "I use the potty cause I'm a big boy, right mommy?"

"You're right, honeybear. You're a bigger boy than Billie, he's just a baby."

"Can I still play with the baby?"
"Yeah, but you have to be careful. No hitting or biting, alright?"

Trè nodded eagerly; he wanted to show Billie his new toys.

Once they were back in the living room, Adie put Billie down onto the floor, letting him explore around.

Of course they needed to keep a close eye on the two Littles, especially on Trè, who was quite rough while playing.

Billie Joe crawled over the huge pile of stuffed animals and colorful blocks, a huge smile growing on his face.

He plopped down onto his padded bottom and cooed loudly, turning around a little to watch his mommy.

"Aaaah," he said, raising one of the colorful blocks. His green eyes were twinkling in happiness and he was making a lot of cheerful baby noises.

Trè crawled closer, holding a few toy cars and Sara immediately scooted closer, "Sweetie, don't give the car to Billie. He might put it in his mouth and get hurt."

Billie had put one of the block's corners in his mouth and was suckling on it, drooling a little; his huge green eyes were staring at Trè, who was racing the cars on the floor.

The smaller Little scooted closer till he could lean onto the other Little, small arms wrapping around the other's back.

Trè laughed and turned around to properly hug him, hands grabbing onto one of Billie's chubby thighs.

Sara and Adie couldn't help but coo at their little boys, at how protective and lovely Trè was towards a younger Little and how receptive of his love Billie Joe was.
