Work Text:
So.
...
This was awkward.
...
Papyrus was staring at you, jaw open.
...
To be fair, you probably would've been staring as well. You'd turned down every date offer in the past few months, your room was a mess, and there was an abnormal amount of blood running down the arm of your non-dominant hand.
...
...Well, any blood was an abnormal amount of blood, wasn't it?
"...WHY?"
It was kind of funny, in a sense. While his voice wasn't that loud, it always sounded like Papyrus was talking with caps-lock on. He typed like that, as well.
"WHY... WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ANYONE?"
Your boyfriend was an edgy bastard, but he cared about you when it mattered. Faintly, you could hear the sound of his footsteps approaching you. That was normal. Papyrus had a habit of walking near-silently.
Was it concerning that your thoughts felt... static-y?
The vague feeling of the blade being pulled out of your hand, and hidden away somewhere, was barely registered. You... you could feel the faint warmth that came off of his bones while he inspected your arm, it just... wasn't processing very well in your brain.
Just like how you barely reacted when he cleaned you up, and bandaged you.
...
This... you didn't feel. What didn't you feel? You could feel, sure, but it wasn't... it didn't feel like you were feeling. It didn't feel real.
...
Papyrus was talking about something. You couldn't particularly tell what, his voice just... existed. Of course, you could hear him, but the words were lost on you.
"...STAYING OVER TONIGHT..."
"...OW LONG HAS..."
You could pick out a few of the sentences.
Not all of them, but a few.
...
At some point, you'd been tucked under the covers. There was a gentle warmth from behind you, accompanied by the faint rise and fall of a chest. Papyrus.
Right. He... he'd said he was staying the night.
Your eyes closed, and the static of your thoughts ebbed away into the darkness of sleep.
...
There was a little bit of comfort in the fact that your boyfriend hadn't pried too much. He trusted that you'd open up. At some point.
You were happy for that.
