similarities and differences

Summary:

The sun and moon are quite similar. They are both sources of light, have many gods attached to them, and are celestial bodies. However, some key differences are also there, mainly how they get their light and what they are made up of.

(or, the author compares and contrasts javid and jin qiu.)

Work Text:

The similarity is this: they are both cops of some sort. One is a warden, and the other is a persecutor of evil. They both claim to denounce evil, and claim to destroy it.

The similarity is this: they are both corrupt. Through beatings and whippings, to the unflinching gaze of the hot desert sun, they take justice and mold it into something other. Something else that is not quite right. And they march on.

The similarity is this: they are both dangerous. Sharp fangs, sharp claws, sharp eyes, sharp weapons that slice into skin. A rumbling voice that makes you accept your fate as “justice” cuts into you and leaves you bleeding out.

The difference is this: one is of the day. Warmth and happiness, lights that blind and the drenching heat that burns. Things that are standing in broad daylight and being ripped apart.

The difference is this: one is of the night. Acceptance and solitude, things you cannot (and will not) see and the cold gaze of the stars. Things that scream in the night.

The conclusion is this: both paths are the same. Both have lives lost and prison cells. The difference is how you get there.

The question is this: which path would you walk?
