Chapter Text
It was Christmas time yet again. December and the end of the year was near. The time of the year where people would spend time with their loved ones and try to make the good that they can. It was also the time of the year where many were extremely busy. It was also the time of the year when people give back and are more grateful. Many have various ways of celebrating Christmas. But there are also various ways of making preparations for it as well.
Goku was seen writing up a Christmas list for all of his friends. Each of them was various gifts that he knew they would like even if it's something they didn't say they wanted. His job in the Time Patrol allowed him to afford that luxury. Truth was he never really thought about what he wanted for Christmas. In his mind, he was more concerned about giving than getting. He wasn't really thinking about gifts for himself that he would want people to give him nor was he expecting him to receive gifts. He was clearly trying to get as many gifts as possible.
Finishing up his list, the Earth Raised Saiyan then quickly started to rush to the stores he needed to go to, in order to get the gifts. It took him a little bit and a few complications to get the gifts for everyone but he managed to pull it off. Somehow.
Chi-Chi had also been doing some Christmas shopping of her own. The benefits of running the education board of Conton City really paid off here. Various discounts as well as a very decent pay. The mother of all of Goku's children didn't hesitate in getting as much as she could. Not much of an issue there. And there was a 4-day Christmas party coming up that would end on the 26th of December. It'll be held at Capsule Corp like it was every year. The mother of the Son Family household also had a habit of gaining as many recipes as possible as well as a few other members of their family. Came in handy with various Saiyans both pure and hybrid in her family.
Meanwhile the entire Briefs family was getting ready for the big party as they already got the gifts that they were willing to give everybody. They were preparing for many games and buying tons of food for all their guests.
And the different versions of Videl and Gohan had already got the gifts they were going to give to everyone. Many other families such as Krillin and Android 18's family, Yamcha and his wife, Martzia, and even their sons and daughters. Goten and Marron, were shopping with Goten's “GT timeline” counterpart and his girlfriend, Valese. Along with both their versions of Trunks, GT Marron, who was GT Trunks' girlfriend.
Tons of holiday shopping having to be done ever since Thanksgiving. All the way up until Christmas Eve. The shops were filled to the brink for the most part and the various couples were seen all over the place. Our main Trunks was with his version of Mai, though unlike the timelines that many of you readers and viewers are used to, this version of Mai is the daughter of the original. She was around the same age as Trunks and Goten. Only a year younger than the younger Demi Saiyan. Her counterparts were also with them along with Goten's adoptive brother and sister.
Son Chi-Chi II, better known by her nickname, Chia, and Son Kakarot Goku Jr. Despite being perfect clones of their mother and father respectively, that personalities are what give distinction from them. As well as certain features like the fact that Chia prefers shorter hair than her mother and the fact that Goku Jr still has his tail. Goku Jr was doing some holiday shopping for his two sons, Son Gohan Jr, named after the oldest of the Son family, and given the nickname Hano as a distinction. A clone of Gohan just like how his father was a clone of the son of the children's father, Goku. Chia figured she would use this as the opportunity to do some holiday shopping of her own to get the gifts that she still needed to get. The gifts for all the nieces and nephews.
“Thanks for coming with me today to help out in getting gifts for Hano and Ryu, guys,” Goku Jr said and it was impossible to hide his gratitude towards his family and friends. “You guys have no idea how much of a lifesaver you guys are.”
“Hey no worries, Kaka,” Goten said with an energetic smile. “Me and Marron have to get gifts for them anyway, so you could say this actually helps us both.”
“You know I could send you guys a copy of their Christmas lists, to help make it easier,” Goku Jr reminded his brother as he figured it would make it a lot easier for them to look for something related to what they want for Christmas. “I'm sure you guys don't want to have to guess what they want.”
“That would be helpful,” Marron agreed. A lot more cheerful than usual and it was actually very normal for her to be cheerful. Although she had a lot of her feisty moments. “Luckily Gohan and Videl gave us a copy of Pan's wish list so it'll be easier to get her gifts.”
“And knowing mom and dad, they must likely have gotten all the various clothing gifts settled on the first day,” Chia added. And her two brothers could tell that there was a sense of reminiscence in her tone. “Perhaps Gohan and Videl too.”
“Well they are going to need more clothes other than just hand-me-downs,” Goku Jr said in agreement. “And knowing then, they're going to make sure they have more than enough to last a few growth spurts.” Everyone chuckled from that last remark. However Goku Jr did appreciate the gesture of his parents helping him out with this. Especially when he was raising the boys on his own. Even his brother and sister-in-law were a great help. “Luckily I got everything else I need for Christmas, I just need to get my gifts for Hano and Ryu. And maybe at some point next year, I'll have to buy gifts for a few nieces and nephews from you, Goten.”
“Hey one step at a time, Goku,” Goten remarked before chuckling. “The two of us may live together, but Me and Marron aren't fully married yet. Wedding isn't until next year.”
“Spring to exact,” Marron chimed in. A hint of excitement was heard in her voice. “So Goku, when are you and Yamelia going to tie the knot?”
Goku Jr quickly blushed from this. His face was an extremely bright crimson. Causing his sister and future sister-in-law to giggle a little. “W-well,” the second Earth-raised Saiyan of Mount Paozu started with a flustered tone in his voice and a flustered expression on his face. “I just haven't found the right time to ask her!”
“Give him some time guys,” Goten butted it in as he calmly mentioned the next parts. “They've been dating for 2 years at this point, and she only just recently moved in with him. While that's a huge step forward in their relationship, give the two some time to enjoy it before they decide to take the next step further.” It was clear that Goten was helping his ‘twin’ brother avoid any more teasing. “Anyway right now, we should probably focus on buying everything that we still need for the holidays.”
“All I have left to get is a few gifts for Bulla,” Trunks mentioned. “I’m probably going to get her a few nice gift cards, to use for the mall or something. She would definitely make use of those gift cards.”
“I'm buying her a decent laptop for school,” GT Goten mentioned.
“I bought her a few gift cards myself,” Goku Jr said. “Same with Pan. I figured they'd be more useful for her. Especially when she can use it for various things.”
“Goten and I got everything we need to get aside from the gifts for Hano and Ryu,” Marron then chimed in and she then looked at her counterpart and her boyfriend, GT Trunks. “What’s left for you guys’ holiday shopping, by the way?”
“Just some wrapping paper for everything,” GT Marron explained. “Along with a few last minute additions to what we were bringing for food.”
Valese couldn't help but giggle a bit. “Also taking the Saiyan appetite into account I see,” she said, causing all the other girls to chuckle.
“You could say that,” GT Marron said in agreement.
“It was her idea,” GT Trunks explained. “We almost got everything but we just need to get a few more snacks.”
“Just like how my mom and the rest of the Pilaf gang were so insistent on getting the desserts,” the “DBS” Mai explained. Her voice showed a hint of observation. “People must want this to be the perfect Christmas for everyone.”
“You said it,” Chia said as She pulled her phone out. “Anyway you should probably send us the wish lists of the little ones, Kaka,” she calmly told her brother. “It'll make it a lot easier for us to buy gifts for them.”
“Let me send it to you guys now,” Goku Jr said before pulling out his phone and copying his list and sending it to Goten and Chia. Goten quietly sent it to Marron, just in case he and she separated during the shopping, and Chia saved it.
“We should probably split up and do our shopping and then regroup after we're all done,” Chia mentioned. Clearly taking the fact that they could cover more ground this way. “well actually cover more ground that way too. And we can all do our own shopping individually, as well.”
There was no argument there. Once that was all settled too, everyone split up to get everything else they needed for Christmas. With Goten and Marron starting their end on the toy section as they were specifically there to get gifts for Hano and Ryu, their little nephews. With Marron taking a look at the list and specifically starting looking for something related to Pokemon. Goten actually thought about getting a few Star Wars books from the Legends material to read since Hano was actually able to read them. He'll order those online though. Perhaps get a means for him to listen to the audio version as well.
"Oh look, Goten!" Marron called out as Goten approached his fiance. "These Pikachu and Eevee plushies are so adorable. Little Hano and Ryu will love them."
"Which ones should we get though?" Goten asked with thought being put into consideration. Looking at the plushies as well. "We obviously can't get them all," he added. "We don't want to cause problems for parents who want to get stuff for their own kids, and we also want to get our nephews other gifts that they'll like.”
“That's a good question,” Marron agreed. “Now that I remember, most of these are some that the two already have. Maybe we should get the ones they don't have. Like those two big plushies of each of the two right there.”
Goten saw where she was pointing at and she mentioned all of that. “All four of them?” he asked with a smile on his face, clearly not objecting to this. They did have the money for it after all.
“We might as well,” Marron said but then specified. “But maybe just one of each, we don't want to go overboard after all.”
“No argument from me, dear,” Goten said, still smiling in the process. He then slowly grabbed the bigger plushies while Marron grabbed the smaller ones and put them in the cart that they did have. After that day then slowly but surely started to head to other areas of the kids section to find good gifts for their nephews. Deep down, they both knew that they were eventually going to have kids of their own. But right now, perfectly fine just being the Uncle and Aunt at the moment. As well as being godparents.
Meanwhile Goku Jr was seen at the electronic section as he remembered he still needs to get something for Beat, and remember his mother, Chi-Chi mentioning that each of the siblings could use a TV in their rooms, to avoid fighting amongst themselves. This would be perfect. Taking the time to look around, he carefully observed the quality of the TVs they had. That's when Goku Jr saw someone he knew all too well.
“Yo Puck!” Goku Jr called out to the man, causing him to turn around
"Oh hey Goku, buying yourself a new TV, I see," Puck said with a grin. Unaware of the true reason why the saying was buying the TV for sure.
"Actually, it's not mine," Goku Jr calmly said. A hint of reassurance in his voice and clear intent to explain the situation at hand. Clearly a response from Puck raising an eyebrow m "It's a gift for my little brother, Beat. He finally managed to get a room of his own but he couldn't get the TV in the room he shared with his two twin brothers, due to Erito and Basaku fighting for it. He wanted to get out of that mess so I figured I'd buy one for him. Not to mention Mom and Dad mentioned it would be a good idea to get the quadruplets a TV for their own rooms, as well as other forms of entertainment for them. I know Gohan and Videl bought one for Erito and Viola, already. So I don't need to worry about them.”
“I'm guessing Z and Tekka are still sharing a room?” Puck asked but didn't want to assume the answer.
“Yeah, but the difference is the fact that those two don't fight as often as the quadruplets do,” Goku Jr answered, his voice was calm as he said all that. “That's why Mom and Dad tried to make sure that the quadruplets had separate rooms for the most part, as soon as Goten, Chia and I moved out. Viola got her old room, but she actually was sharing the room with her, due to both of them being the only two girls.”
“No wonder why it was so easy for her to get her own room,” Puck said as he rolled his eyes.
“Given how unpredictable we boys can be at times, it was very much for the best that she got her own room first,” Goku Jr reminded him and there was certainly no hesitation in that. “And besides, Viola and Chia rarely fought. It was mainly the three boys of the Quadruplets. Mom, Dad and Gohan mainly had to break up fights between me and Goten, aside from those three. And you are probably aware how nasty those fights ended up being at times.”
“No kidding,” Puck mentioned as he actually put some thought into it. “I remember a few times were you two were literally at each other's throats, and out for blood.”
Oh there were plenty of times where that happened. More times than either Goku Jr nor Goten would want to admit. Luckily now that they have places of their own, those fights have become significantly rare. Almost non-existent and whenever they did happen they never got anywhere near as bad as they did before. “Anyway, I should probably get going,” Goku Jr finally said. “I got to finish up some last minute Christmas shopping, before that party at Capsule Corp, a couple weeks from now.”
“All right,” Puck said. “Say hi to little Hano for me.”
“I'll tell him when I pick him up from my parents,” Goku Jr told his old friend as he gave him away before walking off to finish up his holiday shopping.
