revival
the first thing you felt when you broke free from petrification was a warmth surrounding your upper body. as pieces of rock peeled off of you in quick succession, you tried to adjust your eyes to your surroundings, only for you to see nothing but a blurry darkness. there was a fearful thump in your chest when you almost thought for a second that you had become blind-
until you realized that you had been pulled into…a hug? you were in the arms of a person- a guy, your head cradled into his chest. in what felt like a millenia, you took your first breath. judging by how slender their body felt and knowing that there could be no one else that could have pulled you into a hug as intimate as this one, you already knew whose arms you were in before having to gently to pull away and gaze up into his eyes.
crimson eyes.
“senku.” you had barely managed a whisper. “senku.” you said again, but a bit louder this time.
there was a look of acknowledgment on his face and a small understanding nod that followed after reading your lips. “hey,” his hand landed atop your head. “welcome back, doofus.”
there was now a different kind of thump in your chest.
secrecy
“huh? who’s that, senku?”
you peeked out from behind the scientist’s back, seeing his familiar brown haired friend walking around carrying massive logs over his shoulder. you remember senku telling you about this guy before the petrification. he always seemed to be doing all the grunt work whenever they were together.
“eh, don’t worry about it, ya big oaf.” senku puts a pinky to his ear. “she’s important though, so make sure that doofus doesn’t accidentally stumble into any trouble if i’m ever away, can ya do that?”
“huh..?? important!?! wait, but i’ve never seen her befor- WAIT, is she a secret girlfri-”
before you and senku could hear the rest of that phrase, the two of you had already invited yourselves into the lab.
as you looked around at all the stuff that was already gathered in this small makeshift lab your genius partner had made for himself, you couldn’t help but crack a smile. “he figured it out,” you remarked, earning a glance from the leek headed scientist. “taiju.”
senku, working on whatever concoction or apparatus you couldn’t understand, replied with a casual chuckle. “pf, ‘course he did. when we wake up yuzuriha, she’s gonna know instantly.” he shrugged nonchalantly. “don’t mind it though.” he pauses his work to look at you with a smug smirk on his face. “at least i know now that ten billion percent of everybody who’s been revived knows you’re mine.”
aa sprinkle of pink scattered on your cheeks as you grinned. you weren’t sure whether to be flustered because of his sudden coy comment, or to laugh because that ‘everybody’ he’s talking about is only taiju so far.
“yeah. i don’t mind. not at all.”
affection
the two of you were always each other’s companions; you were that bookworm, and he was that nerd. no words had to be said when the two of you were together, you both just did your own thing while basking in each other’s peaceful company. after monitoring your behaviour for a while, senku gathered that you were quite the intelligent person- not as much as him of course- but you, you were different than him. you were the timid type; a stark contract from his passionate go-getter attitude. perhaps it was your greatness, a greatness that was so well hidden within you, one that you might not even be aware of, that caused him to all of a sudden one day ask you to ‘measure hand sizes’ for an ‘experiment.’
senku is the type of guy who doesn’t spend too much on romance. it’s not his top priority, and he’s definitely not into that pda stuff either. but still, somehow, he’s able to show you his affection for you whenever the right time arises, in his own way.
“hey doofus,” senku called you. he had a knack for calling you that nickname.
the two of you were currently in the observatory by ishigami village, spending a chilly night together. you scooched over to him, glancing at him questioningly and uttering a small ‘what’s up?’
the warm light of a torch fire would peek through the windows of the wooden hut. the two of you sat side by side against the wall, and an adequate amount of silence would take place as you waited for him to continue his words. but there was a point when you started to get a bit confused when he wasn’t saying anything. senku was usually direct and straight to the point, so it wasn’t like him to-
you felt his arm wrap around you. his rough calloused hand held onto your open shoulder to pull you in close. it was right then and there that senku had leaned in to give a small delicate kiss to your temple. it had been quite a while since you received anything like this from the scientist.
your heart thumped once again.
“just a little reminder.” he told you.
and you simply smiled. “a nice one.”
