Chapter Text
Ao’nung had been wanting to go on a date with his boyfriend Neteyam. The problem with that is that they're both very busy people. Ao’nung has his swimming training and competitions and Neteyam does track and archery. Plus the fact that he had siblings he took care of almost 24/7 or at least it seemed like that, Ao’nung was most definitely exaggerating. Of course they see each other at school and they often have sleepovers but they haven't had a date in forever.
Ao’nung had planned everything out this saturday. They'd go to the bookstore in the morning after that, get a drink at his favorite cafe, go to the museum they wanted to visit, after that get some lunch before heading to the movies. And then he’d let Neteyam pick where they eat dinner. It was perfect Ao’nung even looked into what movies would be playing seeing that John wick 4 was playing they had been talking about going together so this would be the perfect opportunity.
Ao’nung wanted to do it face to face. That was his first problem that occurred, asking him to go on the date. Ao’nung had been waiting for his boyfriend to show up to one of their only classes together but here he was in class that had in fact started and no boyfriend in sight. “Yo Rotxo is Kiri in school?” Ao’nung asked, lightly kicking Rotxo’s chair. “Dude stop i heard you, she said she's running late Lo’ak had to go to the hospital.” He said making Ao’nung shocked. “What?” He said a little too loud apparently.
“Ao’nung care to share?” The teacher asked. “No thank you.” He said back the teacher nodded and let it slide. He quickly wrote something on a piece of paper before he kicked Rotxo’s seat again to get his attention. “Dude.” Rotxo whispered, getting annoyed. “Read it and answer.” He whispered back. It took a little before he got the paper back quickly scanning it over.
“Idiot I swear, how does he do this every time?” Aonung asked once they got out of class. “Not sure but he needs to pay attention one day he’s actually going to die.” Rotxo said back. “Who?” Tsireya asked, pushing through them to stand in the middle. “Uhm your boyfriend.” Rotxo said hesitantly. “Woah wait what happened to him?” She asked, whilst also stopping them in the middle of the hall, receiving a lot of angry students who were also walking there.
“Nut allergy.” They both said in unison. “Is he okay?” She asked. “Jeez Reya, just call him. I'm sure someone will pick up.” Ao’nung said walking away to head to class. “What's up his ass?” The girl asked. “He’s mad his boyfriend wasn't in class this morning.” Rotxo said back slightly, laughing. “Ugh he’s going to be annoying to deal with then, anyways bye Rotxo good luck at class.” She said before also leaving.
Ao’nung was walking towards the swimming pool. Normally he’d sit in Neteyam’s class until he got sent out but now that Neteyam wasn’t there yet he had to spend his free period somewhere else. He laid down on the bench just listening to music not caring if he was going to miss his next period. “You know you could have done homework instead of just laying there” Someone said walking towards him. “Yea but then we couldn't do it together.” He said back sitting up. “Hi baby.” He added. “Hi Nung.” Neteyam said, kissing his lips.
“What are you doing here? It isn't your free period.” Ao’nung said, grabbing his hand. “Well I'm already late so it doesn't matter.” He said back, putting his bag down. “Hey, I have a question.” Ao’nung said. “Shoot.” Neteyam said back, playing with his hand. Ao’nung was about to ask him when the doors opened. “Oh hey dudes.” Van’tu said, one of my swim mates whilst walking towards them. “Van’tu not now.” Ao’nung said, trying to get him to leave. “What did I interrupt? I totally didn't mean to but if you guys need space you should probs leave other people are going to come.” he quickly added. “It’s okay I have to get going anyways, ask me later okay Nung?” Neteyam said, picking up his bag before leaving.
“Yo I totally cock blocked you didnt I? Shit man” The dude said. “I- no you didn't it’s whatever.” Ao’nung said back standing up to leave.
The rest of the day he didnt see Neteyam anymore until school was over. “Tey.” Ao’nung said catching up to him. “Oh hey Nung.” He said back, rummaging through his bag to find his car keys. “Here come I'll get it.” Ao’nung said, grabbing the bag from him to help. “Thanks oh what was it you wanted to ask.” he suddenly said, closing his bag once he found his keys. “Oh right i wanted to know-” He started before getting interrupted by Tsireya and Kiri.
“Neteyam good you're still here are you going to see Lo’ak?” Tsireya asked. “Oh yes, did you want to come?” He asked, back opening the car door for her telling her he already knew the answer. “Yes please, is it bad? or just like always?” She asked, getting in scooting towards the otherside to let Kiri in. “Uhh it's fine, could've been worse.” Kiri said.
“Sorry Nung, what did you say?” Neteyam asked, opening the driver's seat. “Ugh guys can you do this later? I kind of want to know if my brother is okay.” Kiri said, slamming the door closed. “Sorry Kiri, Nung you coming?” Neteyam asked. “Go on, I'll go with my car.” Ao’nung said, ready to walk towards his own car. “K see ya soon drive safe.” Neteyam said before driving off.
“You have really bad luck.” Rotxo said, coming up behind him. “Shut up and let's go visit that idiot.” Ao’nung said walking off. “Dude, hold on, let me get my bike.” Rotxo said, running to his bike. “Well hurry it up.” Ao’nung said, opening the trunk.

Once they got to the hospital Ao’nung stopped from going in. “Dude.” Rotxo said, trying to get past him. “I need you to do something for me.” He said. “Like what?” Rotxo asked, rolling his eyes. “Keep the others in Lo’aks room so i can ask Neteyam on a date i keep getting interrupted.” Ao’nung said, sighing. “Fine fine come on now let’s make sure our friend is alive.” Rotxo said, pushing Ao’nung inside.
“Yo.” Lo’ak said once they got into the room. “You good?” Ao’nung asked. “Not dead so yea.” He said back, receiving a slap from Tsireya. “For real, how are you feeling?” Rotxo asked, closing the door. “Fine, really feeling a lot better now that I can breathe and all they're honestly just keeping me here for observation nothing more.” He said. Light talking came over them before the nurse came in to ask for the paperwork.
Ao’nung silently followed his boyfriend in the hopes they'd be alone for a little. “So any reason you came out with me?” Neteyam asked. “Well yea but it can wait until the paperwork is done.” Ao’nung said back. “Nah just tell me you’ve waited a while now.” He said back slightly, laughing. “Nothing can escape you huh.” he said back rolling his eyes. “Well if you insist I wanted to know if you wanted to go on a date this Saturday?” Ao’nung asked.
Neteyam signed the paperwork before turning to look at his boyfriend. “Yes Nung, I'd love to go on a date with you.”
