Sing the Sun in Flight

Summary:

A fallen prince is found on the shore of the God's Eye lake just as the region's new overlord arrives at the nearby cursed castle with his natural daughter. Together, the three will scheme to restore a dead house and seek vengeance against those that should be, but it will be a long and perilous journey to gain the friends necessary to achieve their goals, while questioning if those they've considered friends from the start can truly be trusted.

Chapter 1: Arc I: The Making of a Prince

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

In Arc I, a prince will fall one hundred and seventy years into the future. He will have lost much of himself during the journey – his name, his memories, his grief, his rage – but he will not have lost his ambition.

Fortunately for him, he will land in the arms of a most cunning man and a most influential woman, both of whom are willing to help a fallen prince if only he agrees to return the favor. Justice is their price, or so they claim, but how much can he know of others when he doesn’t even know his own name?

With limited knowledge of the world in which he has awoken, and even more limited options available to a nameless, friendless, penniless man, he agrees to the arrangement.

At least one part of it shall be no burden…

Notes:

Sorry to get you excited if you got the alert that there's a new chapter. I've decided to add arcs to this fic, each a brief summary of what will happen in the chapters within that arc (careful not to spoil anything, of course).
