Sara carefully held the straight razor in her hand, her gaze locked on the reflection of Gil in the mirror. Her concentration was unwavering; she didn't want to make a single wrong move that could result in harm. She glanced up at him, and in those loving eyes, she found the reassurance she needed.
"Do you trust me?" she asked softly, her voice barely more than a whisper.
Gil met her gaze with a tender smile and replied, "Yes, intimately."
With that affirmation, she turned her attention to the task at hand. As she delicately moved the razor across his beard, every stroke was an expression of her care and affection. She couldn't help but think about how much he must love and trust her to allow her to use such a sharp instrument on his face and neck.
While she was focused on the task, Sara's mind wandered to how much she missed him during his sabbatical. The beard was a look, but it wasn't the man she had fallen in love with. She preferred him clean-shaven, and that thought warmed her heart.
Gil, on the other hand, watched her intently as she concentrated on the delicate task. He loved the way her face transformed when she was focused, and he couldn't help but smile.
As she finished shaving the last bit of hair from his face and turned to wipe the blade for the final time, “done” she said with a contented smirk ,Gil rose from the stool. He washed his face and patted it dry, the fresh, clean feeling refreshing.
Sara's trademark smile spread across her face as she looked at him. "There you are, welcome back, my love."
He took a couple of steps towards her, his eyes filled with warmth as he leaned in to kiss her. In a soft voice, he confessed, "I missed you very much."
Sara replied, "I missed you too. I'm glad you're back."
"Let's not do that again," she added with a playful smirk.
Gil raised an eyebrow and looked at her quizzically. "What? Go on sabbatical?"
Sara replied with a playful smirk, "Sure, but I was talking about the beard."
He looked at her with a stunned expression eyebrow raised in question he could see the playfulness dancing in her eyes.
She chuckled, and he pulled her closer, their lips meeting in a sweet and passionate kiss. As they parted, her giggles filled the room, and in that moment, everything felt right.
