Work Text:

Wukong loved the night sky.

The stars locked him in a trance, each with their own beautiful splendor. He loved gazing at them, making up his own constellations instead of finding existing ones in the sky above. He rebels in the darkness, finding a strange amount of tranquility in it. Considering how bright he usually was, he found it a bit weird to love the night sky as much as he did.

But, most of all, he loved gazing at the moon.

He loved the moon, with its different phases, all just as beautiful. Yet nothing compared to the majesty of the full moon, and yearned for the time of month it showed him it’s full glory. It felt like it was meant for him and him alone, all its beauty and splendor saved just for him.

He only wished his Moon would show him that beauty once again.

Macaque loved the daytime.

He would always find time to sit under the sun and look at the blue sky above. He liked watching the clouds drift by one, loved listening to the soft wind whisper in his ears. Despite often sticking to the shadows, he liked to appreciate the brightness the world had to offer him.

Most of all, he loved the sun.

He loved the sun, with its warm, golden glow. Nothing compared to seeing the sun settle on top of the sky, shifting its hues as it moved by. He liked to think that it was always watching over him no matter what, always bringing him company when he was lonely. He wished to have the sun’s brightness as his own, its warmth reserved for him and him alone. He knew it was selfish, because the sun shared its warmth with everyone, but it was what his heart desired.

In the end, he only wished he could feel his Sun’s warmth once more.
