The wings

Summary:

Just... well, that wasn't the first time she looked at her wings that night, and Vaggie wasn't completely sure of how to feel about that.

Like, she'd said she liked them when she saw them the first time, just... well, she didn't expect her to be that interested she guessed?

But, looking at the way her eyes widened at the sight, stare narrowing on the feathers, it kind of made sense.

Work Text:

What a day.

What.

A.

Day.

Vaggie, pinching the bridge of her nose, her eye closing for just a moment, couldn't really think of much else as she learned against the first floor's railway, hands tightening ever so slightly around the cold metallic material she's learned not to think about the actual origins of.

Like... a part of her liked to think it was gold, thing she'd never really managed to shake off of herself, but, really, she knew it couldn't be.

Actually, knowing hell (and that hotel especially), that railway could as well be made out of radioactive material some contractor had paid very little for.

...

The angel gave a look at the scene unfolding below her.

Or, well, the scene that had been unfolding until not too long ago, so... well, all she could really do was staring at what remained of it.

Raise an eyebrows at the way Sir Pentious would cry out orders for his eggs to perform even though they somehow managed to fuck everything up even more (and, well, all things considered it was pretty impressive she guessed?), like those two, she believed one of them was called Frank, that had managed to make Husk trip while running with a wood board, or grimace at Niffty, who...

...

What was she doing exactly?

Cleaning the boards?

No, not exactly, she... she was decorating the boards with fur.

Tufts of fur Vaggie was pretty sure she'd never seen around there, though she was positive some of those shades were not completely new to her... just not from any of the hotel staff or patreons.

She decided she really didn't want to know.

Angel seemed to see something she didn't though, especially considering how amused he looked at one of the tufts especially.

The fur in question had been pinned to one of the boards Angel and Husk were securing to the windows on the ground floor, so Vaggie wasn't completely sure of what was so special about it, all she could see was that it was white.

Snow white with a hint of black she couldn't be completely sure was there without getting closer.

Still... she wasn't going to ask about the fur, or where it came from.

One could never be too sure when it was about Niffty after all, and... well, they already had enough on their minds without also having to think about their maid having pieces of-

...

And now she was stabbing something.

She wasn't completely sure of what she was stabbing, but, considering it was Niffty, probably bugs, nothing they would've needed to fight off the exterminators once the day would've been there.

Which... was close.

...

Oddly close.

Maybe even too close, which...

The angel shrugged to herself, her left wing hitting the right one and almost making her fall to the side as she did so, which...

Well, Vaggie, her eye now open wide, was pretty lucky she was holding that railway so tightly.

...

Fuck.

When she'd first lost her wings, Vaggie had felt like a part of her had just been ripped away, which, well, no shit, those wings really had been ripped away and hurt like a bitch as it happened, it had also been, though, like losing a piece of her identity, something that defined what she was.

Who she was.

An angel.

An exterminator.

A soldier doing her job for the sake of a sistem she barely knew.

God only knew how many times she'd found herself sulking, grieving the loss of what made her...

Her.

Of her possibility to just touch the sky like she used to, run to what had been her home, knowing that she would've found Lute there, ready to finish the sloppy job she'd done in trying to kill her.

Of course, over the course of the years she'd learned how to live without them, she'd gotten used to the new balance, to the absence of weight on her back.

She'd learned to fill the void left by her missing pride and sense or self with something else... someone else.

Switching the pride with loyalty, learning to take new pride in her new loyalty.

Now, the weight on her back was there again, and...

If you told Vaggie years ago that getting her wings back would've been uncomfortable, she would've laughed.

And that would've probably been the first genuine laugh she would've been able to spit out.

Instead, now, here she was.

Having her wings back was kind of like having a backpack twenty-four seven, and, worst of all, she was rusty.

She... she was not used to walk with them anymore, and... God, were they heavy.

Every swink to the side threatening to make her balance and fall.

Earlier, when she'd tried to use them to help, trying to bring one of the boards up to a second floor's window, she'd ended up slamming her right wing against said window and falling out of the hotel as a whole, which...

Not a good result.

Angel absolutely laughing his ass off for her 'vagina dive fall', as he'd called it, didn't help.

...

She passed a hand on her face, hoping the circles under her eyes were not as deep as they felt.

The angel let her head slump in her shoulders for only a moment, eye closing only for it to notice something in the corner of her field d of view as soon as it opened again.

Or, well, someone.

Now, don't get her wrong, Vaggie knew Charlie was there with her, like, hell, the two of them had gotten up there together, just...

She didn't remember her girlfriend staring at her wings like that.

Like...

Well, that didn't really look like a special way?

Just... well, that wasn't the first time she looked at her wings that night, and Vaggie wasn't completely sure of how to feel about that.

Like, she'd said she liked them when she saw them the first time, just... well, she didn't expect her to be that interested she guessed?

But, looking at the way her eyes widened at the sight, stare narrowing on the feathers, it kind of made sense.

Like...

In a Charlie way.

Plus, she'd just found out she was an angel, maybe... she needed to get used to them?

She really wouldn't have blamed her to be honest... Vaggie would've taken some time to get used to herself too in that situation.

...

Actually, Vaggie was pretty sure she would've been way less forgiving, which...

The angel pressed her lips tight, a finger twirling a strand of gray-ish hair around itself until it started feeling like it was being pulled.

Then she twirled again, something in her brain just telling to keep doing this.

Keep doing this keep doing this keep doing this.

Pain pain pain pain pain pain pain pain pain pain pa-

"...-ed?"

Charlie's voice, though she hadn't really understood a word of what she'd said, snapped the angel out of her trance, head snapping towards her girlfriend as the strand escaped from her finger.

She blinked, eyebrows raising as she gave a look to the princess of hell.

The bright red eyes still jumping to the wings from time to time as she brought a strand of unruly hair behind her ear, cheeks more than slightly reddened.

She'd taken the blazer's jacket off as she helped with the works, leaving her with the white dress shirt, sporting two huge sweat stains where her armpits were; one of her suspenders had fallen from her shoulders, and it was now dangling at her side in an almost pathetic way.

...

She was beautiful.

Absolutely stunning.

And Vaggie, like an idiot, hadn't understood a single word she'd said.

She parted her lips, trying to find some kind of answer that would've been good for any kind of question.

...

...

...

Okay, that wasn't working.

And she was staring.

Actually, she'd most definitely had been staring for too long, she should've said something or that would've been weird, but Vaggie had nothing to say, 'cause she wasn't listening, but she didn't want Charlie to think she wasn't listening, but that was the truth, she wasn't listening, and-

"... What?"

...

Wow.

Smooth, Vaggie.

Very fucking smooth.

Fuck, God only knew how much Vaggie would've wanted to slap herself right now.

Charlie, though, seemed to find it amusing.

Actually, from the smile she gave her, the demon even seemed to find it endearing, she...

...

She didn't deserve her.

"I said..."

Charlie got a bit closer, the rigid soles of her shoes leaving a soft and dry noise against the tacky moquette.

"Are you feeling tired?"

...

Tired?

Between the whole matter with paradise, the cat getting out of the bag and the training with Carmilla Carmine, Vaggie hadn't really gotten the time to think about it, but...

She took a deep breath, barely a yawn to come out of her mouth.

Yeah.

She most definitely was tired.

"... A bit"

"Want to come to bed?"

The demon took her hand, the smile on her lips looking more sweet than anything she'd ever had the possibility to try.

Vaggie, her thumb mindlessly drawing circles on the back of Charlie's hand, gave a quick look at the ground floor, where the others had ditched the wood boards in favour of what looked like an exchange of experiences, something about Pentious being dragged into a... sex room?

What the fuck had she even missed while she was in fucking Heaven?

Like-

One leaves for a few hours and-

Well... that wasn't the point.

They seemed okay, and...

Vaggie smiled, gently squeezing Charlie's hand.

"Sure"

Before she could add anything, Vaggie was getting dragged, almost falling to the ground as one of her wings made her lose balance.

Oh...

Oh!

Well... that most certainly didn't look like sleeping, but... well, it wasn't that often that Vaggie was the one getting slammed against the wall.

She fucking sure was not gonna complain about it happening right now.

Not when her legs felt like they were jello.

Not when her girlfriend's hand's were so up under her shirt already.

The angel moaned softly into the demon's mouth, tongue colliding against her lover's sharp teeth as the other's own easily made its way into her mouth, the warm and wet muscle making it hard to formulare full coherent thoughts.

Not that it really mattered.

Charlie wasn't that often the one in charge, but when it happened...

No.

Right now, all Vaggie could do was press herself against the wall, holding herself to her girlfriend's waist for dear life as she moaned softly into the other's mouth, face burning as a puddle of arousal started clustering in her lower abdomen, familiar yet always feeling like a stranger greeting her for the first time, shivering as the princess' hands rubbed against her sides, the left one tracing the slight protrusion of her ribs as it made its way up to her breast, sending shivers down the angel's spine.

She...

She...

Charlie's mouth parted from hers, nibbling at her lower lip in the process as she left her slightly stunned and with a heavy breath, brain still trying to process informations about the kiss in the first place.

Then, the demon kissed her at the corner of her mouth.

On her cheek.

She traced her jawline with slow wet kisses Vaggie's breath hitching in her throat as she did so.

The angel brought an arm behind her girlfriend's back, drawing her even closer as she went down to her neck, getting a groan out of her.

Them, the teeth came.

Sharp pointy teeth, graspinga against the delicate skin.

That wasn't the first time, Vaggie was quote used to having Charlie's teeth on her throat, it...

It was a trust fall.

And Vaggie trusted her more than anything.

So, as Charlie gently bit her neck, nibbling and licking like she would've done to a popsicle, a groan left Vaggie's throat, fingers clawing slightly at the button up, tagging it as her wings-

God her wings.

Vaggie didn't even notice she'd moved them until they were wrapped tight around her girlfriend, the demon making a surprised noise as she noticed the feathers tickling her naked forearms.

Vaggie felt her face flush red, awkwardness fitting her like a glove as she let out a little uncomfortable laugh.

"I- sorry, I'm not really used to-"

"Don't"

The angel blinked, noticing for the first time how much her girlfriend's cheek had become red, eyes getting bigger and bigger as She gently felt one of her wings under her fingers, taking her right hand out from under Vaggie's shirt.

It... it tickled a bit, but Vaggie didn't really dare say anything.

"Charlie-"

"I like your wings"

Uh oh.

She... she knew that grin.

The way Charlie wouldn't completely open her eyes when thinking about something.

Then, her lips were back in Vaggie's, hungrier than ever.

The kisses were short, rough.

The kind of kiss that left her to hunger for more.

Just a bit too late she noticed being pulled by her shirt, the small steps Charlie would make in order to not make the wings open, so in need of that hug Vaggie didn't even know she could give.

But she did notice.

And when she did, it was too late, the two of them already falling on the soft mattress the soft noise of covers being crushed almost deafening to her ears.

Not that she really cared.

As soon as the two of them impacted, the angel's wings opened, to Charlie's disappointnent, spreading all through the mattress, taking up a huge portion of their shared bed.

The princess of hell looked at them for a few moments, almost seeming hypnotized by the view.

Then, her 'O' shaped lips turned into a smirk, the pointy fangs shining against the room's artificial light.

Okay, that... That was hot.

"You're beautiful"

As she said that, Charlie started unbuttoning her shirt, going fast enough for Vaggie to worry she would've made some of the buttons come off.

"I-..."

She stopped, realizing she didn't really know how to answer.

To be honest, words had never been her thing.

Even when she was an angel.

Exterminators weren't supposed to be too diplomatic after all, she guessed.

Act, don't speak.

Letting her actions speak for her had almost become kind of a second nature for her, and...

"... Thanks, you..."

She tried to swallow, just to find her mouth was completely dry.

"... You too"

Charlie's shirt was completely unbuttoned at this point, that one suspensor holding on for dear life being the only thing holding it up.

Charlie didn't seem to care.

Instead, the demon bit her lower lip, a finger tracing her stomach from under the shirt, lower and lower, until it came to the rim of her skirt, fingertips gently brushing against the sensitive skin.

Charlie looked at her.

Vaggie nodded.

The skirt, together with the underwear, fell somewhere next to the bed.

The next thing Vaggie felt was lips.

On her pelvis.

The angel inhaled sharply, fists balling around the covers.

Then Charlie's mouth passed to the tighs.

Here... That got a groan out of her.

It was like a thousand of fireworks has just fine crazy inside of her, her whole body shivering, goosebumps making her feel as if feathers had started growing on the rest of her body.

Her wings fluttered, which made the demon smile against the inner thigh.

Vaggie took a deep breath, slowly applying force on her elbows so that she could raise her waist, eye widening just a bit as she could finally give an image to her sensations.

Charlie's blonde head was between her legs, leaving wet kisses higher and higher, oh so close to her lips, the heat in her lower abdomen now almost hurting her as she let out a shaky breath, lips parting.

"Charlie, I-..."

She took a deep breath, feeling her whole face flush in a darker shade of gray.

That got her girlfriend's attention, eyes slowly lifting up to the point they were focusing on, mouth still attached to the sensitive skin as she looked up at her.

"Yeah?"

It was like the words had just stopped in her throat, the angel unable to make a single sound come out of her lips, the view making her heart beat so fast it almost hurt against her ribcage.

Not a single sound, save for a weak whisper.

"Please"

She did it.

Charlie didn't need any more instructions, 'cause her face was already buried so deep between her legs Vaggie felt her elbows fail, making her fall back on the mattress, breath hitching and coming out irregular as she looked at the ceiling without actually seeing it every muscle in her body progressively getting more and more stiff as she felt her lover's tongue go and slowly press against the core of that burning arousal, begging to be released.

She was sucking.

Licking.

Nibbling.

And Vaggie couldn't do anything, other than breathe and look at the ceiling, her hands tight around the covers as small choked and inconclusive sounds left her throat, eye getting a bit lucid, as her vision started getting a bit blurry.

It was kind of like being underwater.

But the water didn't give her that kind of pleasure.

"Please... Please...!"

It always ended up like this, when Charlie was the one in charge.

Vaggie ended up being a begging mess, one arm throwing itself over her eye as she couldn't stop the groans coming out of her throat.

It happened every time, and she knew Charlie loved it.

She loved seeing her girlfriend melting like wax under her mouth, and Vaggie...

Well, Vaggie couldn't say she hated it.

As much as she was used to being the one in control during that kind of situation, she...

Oh.

Oh!

The heat had almost become unbearable by now, jaw clenching as her legs tightened around her lover's head.

She felt her wings close around her body, shaking ever so slightly as she let out a groan louder than the others, her whole body feeling as if getting crossed by electric discharges.

Her whole body was so stiff she couldn't move.

Then it was over.

The first few seconds were if silence, the only thing reaching the angel's ears being the fast and rhytmic beat of her heart.

She closed her eye, the stars dancing in her vision following her in the darkness of her eyelid.

One deep breath.

One deep breath.

In.

Out.

In.

Out.

In-

A kiss on her inner thigh.

A quick sweet thing, one that only made her whole body like it was on fire again.

The noise of rustling sheets.

When she opened her eye again, her girlfriend was climbing back up on her, arms carefully avoiding her feathers, though gently rubbing against the still new muscles.

Then they were facing each other, Charlie's neck looking slightly wet.

She was grinning.

Vaggie smiled back, slightly flustered.

No need for words.

That wasn't over, and both of them knew it.

____________

"That was... that..."

Vaggie inhaled deeply, body sticky with sweat as she looked up at the ceiling, lips parting and closing as she struggled to catch her breath.

"... Yeah"

Charlie's voice was breathy as she gave that one sentence answer, the low volume somehow echoing in the silence that had been formed by the full stop that the activity had reached just seconds ago.

A bit less than a minute.

She felt her hand getting squeezed lightly, the intertwined fingers tight against each other.

Slowly, the angel turned her head towards her lover, admiring the profile.

The slightly widened red eyes, the sharp angle of her jaw, the...

The parted lips.

So soft and pretty.

She wanted to touch them.

Slowly, Vaggie extended her free hand, fingers softly brushing against the demon's lips.

Charlie blinked as if snapping out of a trance, head turning towards her girlfriend, who cupped her cheek gently as a soft smile took up all of her face.

They were silent for a while.

Then Charlie scooped in closer, her head now laying on Vaggie's bare chest, the unbuttoned shirt only barely covering her stomach.

To be completely honest, Vaggie wasn't all that sure of how Charlie had managed to get her bra out of the way, especially with the wings making it impossible to take the blouse away without tearing it to pieces (she also was pretty confused on how she would've managed to take it off now actually), but... well, she didn't really care right now.

Slowly, the focus she had to put into it making it a struggle, the angel closed her wings around the girl, wrapping the two of them in a close embrace.

It was... warm.

And fuzzy.

As much as they would've been a pain, since she now had to re-learn how to use them, Vaggie had missed how warm her wings actually were.

They were silent for a while, breathes eavening with the slow flow of the seconds.

It was...

How long had it been since the last time?

How long had it been since they'd last have some time together like this, just for the two of them?

With the hotel, and the extermination, and...

...

Vaggie bit her lower lip.

With her identity as an angel coming up.

Since they'd come back from Heaven, she and Charlie had not talked much.

That wouldn't have been a good idea when it had just happened, and, well...

Even when Charlie had made it clear that they were good, they just... didn't get the time to talk.

Not when the cannibals had arrived and the preparazions for the now closer than ever extermination day had just started, but now...

...

"Charlie?"

The only answer she received to the call was a small humming noise, one only aimed to let her know that, despite looking asleep, the princess of hell was listening.

Vaggie took a deep breath, making her lips pop as she softly started stroking her girlfriend's soft blonde hair, the regular action making her heart beat at least a bit slower.

"I..."

She hesitated for a moment, not really sure whether the question would've ruined the atmosphere or not.

She took a deep breath.

"Do you... have any question?"

"Yes"

While still tired, her tone sounded way more hyper than Vaggie would've ever managed, her head snapping up from her chest as she let her chin lay on it to keep her head up right, eyes wide she looked at her girlfriend.

"Yes please, this has been killing me!"

The angel raised her eyebrows, unable to chase away a note of amusement in her voice.

"Well... what is it then?"

For just a second, Charlie seemed to re-think her decision, her body stiffening and relaxing against Vaggie's own.

The angel started tracing circles on her back in a soothing pattern, as she finally seemed to make a decision.

The demon took a deep breath, squeezing her girlfriend just a tad bit harder.

"How did you end up here?"

Vaggie bit her lower lip, something in her throat closing ever so slightly.

Yeah, that...

She should've imagined that would've been the question.

"You go straight to the point, don't you?"

"Ah- I'm sorry, if it's not something you wanna talk about you can-"

Vaggie shook her head, gently stroking the demon's head.

"No, I... it's very simple, really, I..."

She pressed her lips tight, looking at the wall to the side as the blurry image the world had taken as her wings and eye were being taken away manifested themselves in her brain, the sole though making the hollow eye socket and her back feel like a thousand burning needles were stabbing her.

"I spared a sinner during extermination, and... Lute cut off my eye"

"What-"

"And tore my wings away... would've been impressed by the raw strenght wasn't it for the fact I was the one going through it"

"What?!"

Vaggie blinked, trying to ignore the stabbing pain that had hit her head, going away just as fast as it had come.

She looked at Charlie, only to notice the beginning of horns poking from her forehead, the eyes turning their scleras from the soft butter yellow to the very same bright red of her irises.

The pink eye widened.

"But I... survived?"

"Maybe, but what the fuck?!"

"Honey-"

Vaggie cleared her voice, gently scratching at her girlfriend's cutis, which made the demon sigh, horns retreating just a bit as she let her head fall back into Vaggie's chest.

"Believe me... there's none who wants to rip off that bitch's eye more than I do, but... I'm okay now"

They were quiet for a moment.

Then Charlie sighed.

"So... you got kicked out"

"Yeah"

"For not killing a sinner"

"Yeah... the ironical thing is that it was a cannibal"

Vaggie smiled at the thought, though it didn't fully reach its potential.

Charlie mused, her horns retreating as she took a deep breath.

"Were they here today?"

"No"

Silence.

Charlie sighed, her head shifting its position, so that now her ear was pressed against the angel's chest.

"I'm sorry"

"I'm not..."

She hesitated for a moment, her chest tightening lightly.

"... anymore"

Charlie hummed, here eyes lost to the side, studying the feathers on her wings.

"I know"

That was enough.

Neither of them spoke much after that.

There was no need to fill the air anymore.

They knew.

And that was all that mattered.
