Work Text:

Junkrat rubbed the side of Lucio's face with his thumb in circular, repetitive motions. Almost obsessively. Leftover soot and ash surely leaving marks on Lucio's skin that neither of them could see in daylight, let alone in the dim light of the bunker.
It was rushed. It was impulsive. It wasn't meant to happen.
"What a day to be alone ain't it?" Junkrat asked, stretching and flexing his fingers one at a time, like he was itching for his bombs. "Valentine's Day--I bet it's a real showdown! Never seen a valentine for myself and I'm not so sure why they have a whole day, but it's one of my favorite days!"
He squeezed Lucio's cheek. Lucio laughed, holding Junkrat's wrist. "It's... I don't know how to explain it."
"Ya don't gotta! I bet those valentines aren't even uhhh.... half as good as a guy like you!"
Lucio couldn't quite meet his eyes. He felt so shy, all of a sudden, despite having been completely confident and comfortable in battle an hour earlier--he'd been in the zone. He felt very much out of his zone now.
"You're bein' so quiet," Junkrat said.
"I'm just thinking."
"About what?? Come on, you can tell me. You can tell me anything. Anything!"
Lucio shook his head. He cupped Junkrat's bony hips and brought the two of them closer.
"Just... don't mind me, okay? It's just a little stage fright."
"I thought guys like you didn't get stage fright."
"We do... when we're nervous."
"What do you got to be nervous about?"
Luico bit his lip, frozen before the words could even entirely form in his mind. He almost felt as though Junkrat's gaze, his voice, was a blackhole from which Lucio's mind couldn't escape. Something about him drowned out everything going on in his head. It was an asset in the middle of hot, fast combat, but not so much when everything slowed down. Not when his goal wasn't throwing enemies off edges, but rather to count the kisses he gave Junkrat. He almost wanted to curl up and let Junkrat do whatever he wanted. He didn't need to be in the middle of it. He could just let Jamie...
Do what he wanted.
"Come on, are ya gonna keep me waiting all night?"
Lucio rubbed a hand down his face. "I just... I... I feel nervous about you." He laughed. "It's stupid. It's just stupid okay it's not anything serious. I don't know why I even said that."
"Nervous about me?? Why??"
Lucio heard the wobble in Jamie's voice. He almost scrambled to reassure him. "Because I like you."
"But if you're nervous... how am I supposed to not be nervous about you?? You're nervous, I'm nervous, it just doesn't make any sense."
"I think it makes a lot of sense, honestly." He sat up. "God, did I kill the mood? I'm sorry."
Junkrat chased after him, his body following Lucio's. He looked Lucio in the eyes, irises flickering back and forth as he scanned his face. "I'm no good with words. Hardly any better with anything other than explosions. Can't we just play pretend or somethin'? Pretend we're other people? People who could be unnervous?"
"That... sounds hard."
Junkrat stared at him for a moment, so completely serious it was almost scary.
"Are you sayin' you're scared of a challenge?"
"Oh my god. Okay, you win." Lucio inhaled then cupped Jamie's face. "I'll be the brave one. You can be the nervous one."
"Yay!!!" Junkrat wiggled around, then layed back on the cot. "Come on, batter! You're up!!!"
