Harry Potter's summer has been miserable, from the Dursleys treating him like no more than a maid to his friends telling him almost nothing all summer. He almost welcomed the dementor attack on his relatives. It seems all he needed to finally get acknowledged was his life endangered. Although now that he is finally away from the Dursleys he isn't all that much happier. Since he joined his friends living at Number 12 Grimaldplace, the house of his godfather all he's done is clean. Being stuck with his friends who he is still a bit angry at and cleaning a house filled with unwanted dark objects does little to lift one's mood. He is currently cleaning one corner of the drawing room. His friends Ron and Hermione along with the Weasley twins are throwing aways anything that may seem dangerous. Harry picks up an orb of some sort, it feels warm to the touch and seems to glow brighter when held. "Harry" one of the twins shouts, startled, Harry drops the orb. It smashes on the floor. Instead of the sound of glass on wood you would expect there was a much softer thump. Looking down in surprise Harry sees a boy seemingly only a bit older than himself with very familiar black hair. "What happened?" Hermione questions looking up from whatever she was doing. "Umm who's that?" The twin the one who called for me in the first place asks. We all just stood there in shock for a moment. The man began to stir sitting up in what seemed to be a confused daze. We all heard the sound of someone running up the stairs. Mrs Weasley and Sirius burst into the room "I felt someone break through the wards" Sirius spoke in a panic before abruptly cutting himself off. Mrs Weasley gasps "is that?"
"I don't know who you think you're fooling" Sirius sounded angry now. Both him and Mrs Weasley had their wands raised. "What? Sirius is that you?" The man sitting on the floor said, his words a bit slurred while slowly getting to his feet. "Why do you look so old? Who are these people?" The man said, sounding genuinely confused. "I know you're not my brother, he's been dead for years!" Sirius voice was cold in a way I had never heard it before. The rest of us seemed to be still in shock, unsure of how to handle such a situation. Realization crossed the strange man's face thankfully, and he began to explain how he tethered his life force to the orb I broke. How if he was ever in mortal danger he would become trapped in the orb, frozen in time until it was destroyed. Sirius seemed to calm, admitting he had read of such a spell before. "We should call Dumbledore" Mrs Weasley finally spoke up. "Yes I have information that can end the war, I assume that it hasn't ended yet? Dumbledore will be quite interested in it, I assure you." The man said seemingly much more sure of himself now. "I'll go floo him, you stay right here Sirius, don't take your eyes off him for even a moment" Mrs Weasley left the room in a rush only to come in a moment later "oh children! come, you are not to be in the same room as that death eater longer than necessary" she said, dragging us all out before sending us off to our rooms.
Once we reached the room me and Ron share, Hermione following along. Ron finally spoke “Did she say death eater?” his voice was edged with fear. “She must have been mistaken, he looked to be our age” Hermione reasoned “I'm sure whatever it is Dumbledore will figure it out”.
“ What do you think the information he has is?” Harry asked. He had many more questions but this seemed like a reasonable one to start with. “I'm not sure but I hope it helps” Hermione replies. “No point in guessing, what should we do while we wait for dinner?” Ron said, carelessly given the situation. We played chess while Hermione read until Ginny fetched us for dinner. The man, Regulus Black we were later informed never joined us. Sirius filled us in, Regulus went on a dangerous mission, betrayed Voldemort by stealing some unknown object. In the process nearly dieing and triggering the spell trapping him in the orb. There was a frustrating lack of details given but, apparently Regulus no longer supports Voldemort and will live here for the foreseeable future.
