“We’ve tracked down their remaining members to this area.” Endeavor explained, as he briefed the heroes in the room on the mission ahead of them. After the war, the MLA villains who evaded capture had gone into hiding, and the heroes that had the most experience with the MLA were tasked with finding and arresting them. Not only were they tracking the MLA, but they were still chasing leads of Nomu’s being created, even with AFO gone and the Doctor imprisoned.
Izuku and Momo sat side by side, having started their own agency right after graduating. When the agency was created, Izuku and Momo went to their closest friends and classmates and offered them positions within the agency, either as sidekicks to kickstart their career, or as fully fledged heroes that would be recognized by themselves. Ochako and Kyouka were their immediate neighbors, while Tsuyu and Denki followed respectively on either side. Shoto was sitting close to Endeavor's chair, the next in line to take over the Endeavor Agency. Tenya was sitting across from Shoto, having taken over the Idaten Agency after the war, with Tensei sitting beside him, guiding and training him.
"Several heroes were able to gather information which suggests this group are among the MLA's most dangerous."
Endeavor pressed a button on his remote, changing the screen to a list of names, quirks, and pictures of the known villains. “We also believe they’re continuing to create Nomu using unknown methods."
“I have a theory.” Izuku started, causing everyone to look towards him. “I believe that before the Doctor was captured, he transferred a copy of AFO to a Nomu. We have proof that the Doctor could copy quirks, so who’s to say he didn’t copy AFO when he was taking care of AFO himself?”
“We also believe that the MLA have somehow gotten hold of this Nomu, either because AFO or Shigaraki gifted it to them, or they somehow stole it from the Doctor before the raid on the hospital.” Momo continued for Izuku, everyone’s eyes switching to her as she spoke. “We don’t know what quirks the Doctor had copied before he was captured, but it’s safe to assume that Super Regeneration and Shock Absorption are among those, not including the strength and other enhancers.”
“This fight could very well be the most difficult challenge after the war.” Endeavor continued, getting the attention back on him. “Prepare yourselves.”
Izuku and Momo stood on top of a high-rise overlooking the city below. It looked like a smaller copy of Deika City, without the tall building in the center. From their observation post they noticed how quiet it was.
“I don’t like this…” Izuku commented, letting the wind blow past him and ruffle his cape.
“Danger Sense acting up?” Momo questioned, standing beside him, her cape also ruffling in the wind.
“It’s been constant since we got here.” Izuku confirmed. “It feels like they’re watching us, even now.”
“Do you think we should tell Endeavor?” Momo questioned, looking over the city and not noticing any movement in the streets, even though it was mid afternoon. There should have been kids returning from school, or people coming home from work, but the city below looked almost like a ghost town.
“He knows.” Izuku responded, taking a deep breath. “He requested I tell him as soon as I felt anything from Danger Sense, as if he expected something to happen before we arrived.” Izuku closed his eyes, letting the wind hit him square on, before he turned towards Momo and opened his eyes. “It feels like we’re walking into a trap.”
Momo jumped a step backwards, avoiding the punch that was flying towards her face, allowing the mutant villain to stumble in his advance. Swinging her staff with all the strength she could muster, she landed a solid hit across the reprobate's head, knocking him to the side, causing him to stumble a few steps before he fell face down unconscious.
Momo took a quick breather, hearing Izuku taking care of his own batch of MLA villains behind her. They had just defeated a rather weak Nomu together, one that didn’t have Super Regeneration or Shock Absorption, before they were quickly surrounded by MLA villains once more. They automatically found themselves fighting back to back, knowing and trusting each other enough to be able to predict the other’s movements while also protecting each other’s backs.
When Momo turned to look towards Izuku, she found him launching a Blackwhip behind her, allowing him to grab a villain that was approaching Momo from behind. Izuku picked up the larger villain, swinging him towards another approaching group, knocking them all down like bowling pins. Momo summoned her High Voltage Stun Gun in her hand, based on a design that Denki used with his quirk, shooting two approaching villains from behind Izuku. They were both breathing hard as they looked towards the other, seeing nothing but love over their raised arms, one with Blackwhip still summoned around it and the other with a stun gun.
“Will you marry me?” Momo questioned Izuku breathlessly, before rolling along his back and swinging out his staff to hit another villain. She had seen Izuku’s eyes go wide, following her movements and shooting Smokescreen directly into a villain's face before tripping him, landing an OFA powered punch which knocked the goon out.
“I don’t think now’s the best time!” Izuku shouted back in response, pulling her back towards him as they both swung up a leg and kicked an approaching villain with makeshift swords. Momo tossed her empty stun gun towards another villain, beaning him directly in the forehead, before she summoned a beanbag shotgun. Izuku used Float as he jumped up, swinging both feet towards two approaching villains, his strike landing true and knocking them both out.
Momo tugged Izuku back down towards her, pulling herself up to slam her foot into another approaching villain. Seeing the mooks approach, Momo shot two beanbags and successfully KO'd two more villains. “Now may be the only time!” Momo yelled out, pulling Izuku toward her enough to force him to look towards her. “I love you. I’ve made my choice. What’s yours?”
Izuku stared at her for a moment, a light behind his eyes flashing through many emotions all at once, before landing on a single one. Izuku pulled Momo behind him, before throwing out a Fa Jin enhanced punch towards an approaching mutant standing a few feet taller than a normal human. “ENDEAVOR!” Izuku yelled out, looking towards the Number One Hero who was fighting not far from them. Momo looked shocked by his response, before a smile graced her face, as she continued to take down villains that approached them. “MARRY US!”
Embroiled in his own endeavor, Endeavor landed another fiery punch against a Nomu, knocking it back for the moment, before looking at the new young heroes. “I’M A LITTLE BUSY AT THE MOMENT!” The Flame Hero yelled back, before he was tackled by another Nomu and sent flying into a building across from them.
Izuku summoned Blackwhip, snaring the Nomu that was engaged against Endeavor, summoning all his strength and hurtling it directly into the ground, halting several other approaching villains. Momo smacked a few more ruffians away with her staff, before looking at Endeavor who launched into a battle between multiple villains. “Endeavor, NOW!” Momo shouted out, returning to the fight behind Izuku the moment after.
Endeavor knocked away the small group surrounding him, giving him a moment of breathing room. “Fine then!” He shouted back as he grabbed another mook and launched him into an iceberg that popped up not far away. “Dearly Beloved, we’re gathered here today to-” He was cut off when another Nomu latched on to his leg, causing him to release some fire from his calf before immediately kicking it away, watching on as it then stopped moving. “-To witness the union of these two heroes!”
Momo swung her staff around, slamming against a villain that had somehow gotten between their backs, knocking him away unconscious. She reached out and grabbed Izuku by his arms, pulling him close to her. “Izuku Midoriya, do you take me to be your wife?”
“I do!” Izuku excitedly replied, before grabbing Momo’s arms and pulling them down towards the ground, allowing a makeshift sword to swing over their heads. He quickly pulled Momo up and over him, allowing her to land on the villain with her boots in his chest, knocking him to the ground.
“Great!” Momo responded as she watched more villains approach them on all sides.
The two separated as Momo created a turret on her shoulder, mowing down a group of approaching miscreants. Meanwhile, Izuku used Blackwhip to pull more hired muscle towards him before launching them away with Fa Jin and Gearshift combined, making sure they hit other villains in the process. Floating up to get away from some more wary thugs, Izuku looked down to see Momo nearly being overwhelmed, and launched a Blackwhip to pull her up towards him safely.
As the two floated above the discordant scene below, allowing each of them to catch their breath during the brief reprieve, they both looked into each other's eyes. “Momo Yaoyorozu, do you take me to be your husband, in sickness and in health?” Izuku cut out Float, allowing them both to drop out of the sky and out of the path of an approaching Nomu, knocking away some unexpected villains in the process. Momo created another stun gun and sent out a few shots, while Izuku launched some Air Force blasts to keep the villains at bay. “With health being the… less likely?”
Momo turned around, smiling her beautiful perfect smile. “I do.”
Endeavor miraculously heard the mid-battle exchange as he grappled with the Nomu that had barely missed Izuku and Momo before. “As the Number One Hero, I now pronounce you-”
Endeavor successfully knocked back the Nomu he was grappling, before getting hit with a boulder flying through the sky. Shaking off the hit and looking towards the villain that had launched it, he sent an Ignited Arrow towards the fool and caused them to scramble for cover. Skipping the pleasantries, Endeavor yelled out, “You may kiss-!”
Izuku and Momo knocked back a few nearby enemies, attempting to kiss, before Izuku yanked them towards the side, Danger Sense informing him of an approaching attack. He quickly blitzed them with Gear One, sending them flying from their location and pinballing into multiple other baddies. Momo continued to release fire from the turrets that were summoned on her shoulders, mowing down a few more approaching hooligans.
Endeavor noticed the few seconds the two heroes had, attempting to yell out towards them once more. “-You may kiss-!” A massive ice glacier appeared before him, causing him to dodge to the side and losing his visual on the two heroes. Erupting with Hellfire Storm, he successfully repelled the ice villain and melted the glacier between them.
Izuku roundhouse kicked his current adversaries, while Momo tripped a few with her staff, allowing her turrets to mow down the rest. As they both turned around, Momo prepared with her staff and turrets and Izuku with Blackwhip and Fa Jin coursing through his arms, they came face to face to see their next ‘opponents’ were actually each other.
Endeavor, being at his wits' end and busy with swatting away another rapidly approaching Nomu, looked towards them. “JUST KISS!” He shouted out moments before being tackled into the building behind him once again, having taken his eyes off the Nomu that he filed as temporarily dispatched.
With no enemies in sight, Momo wrapped an arm around Izuku’s back and dipped him slightly, before the two shared a loving kiss. Momo felt herself go weightless, both from the kiss they were sharing, and by Izuku using Float unconsciously. When they pulled back, they stared into each other’s eyes for a moment, before melting into another kiss.
