Chapter Text
This was it. Chloè was going to pay, once and for all.
Toxinelle hadn’t told anyone her plan, not even Griffe, not even when she promised him there would be no secrets between them. This wasn’t exactly secret-she would tell him afterwards- but it was a surprise. He would be so proud of her.
She breezily pushed open the shiny double doors that led into the main lobby of Chloè’s mansion. Her eyes scanned around, spotting the front desk and she marched over, some people giving her slightly confused and judgemental glances. She mentally photographed all of their faces- that way Griffe would know who his next victims were. To him, no one could look at her with disrespect without being brutally punished.
Toxinelle stalked up towards the desk and the man working there looked up.
“Hello, how may I help you?’’ he chirped politely, trying not to look distracted by her tight suit that hugged her slim fit figure, her dramatically long eyeliner and piercing red glowing eyes. Her cold expression and mask that covered the majority of her face. He would be dead if Griffe saw him.
“Come with me,’’ she demanded with authority.
The man looked slightly bewildered, and smiled fakely. “Ma’am, do you have a reservation?’’ he asked, more pointedly this time. Toxinelle didn’t respond. “Sorry, miss, bookings only,’’ Oh, the amount of willpower she had to stop herself from wringing his neck. But not enough.
“That wasn’t a question,’’ she hissed, grabbing tightly onto his wrist, causing him to yelp in pain.
She dragged him to the janitor’s cleaning closet, throwing him in and locking the door behind him.
“What room is Chloè Bourgeois staying in?’’ she commanded the scared-looking man who was scrambling to get up. He opened his mouth to scream, which Toxinelle knew would be the case. Everyone was the same, desperately trying to escape her and Griffe Noir’s intimidations. Why couldn’t anyone surprise her?
An object landed in her hand, which she held to the man's head, her free hand covering his mouth. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you,’’she rasped in his ear, making him shiver, but at least it kept him quiet. “I’ll fucking blow your brain,’’
The man started trembling, clearly terrified that it made Toxinelle almost laugh. People were so pathetic.
“Room 334,’’ he squeaked, his voice wobbly. His eyes were shut and a single tear dripping down his cheek.
“What level?’’she asked.
“Four.’’ he responded immediately, his voice still shaky.
She slowly lowered the gun from the man's head, and his eyes opened in surprise and relief. She walked towards the door, but before she left, she held up the gun again.
“Please, no!’’ he cried. “I beg you, I won’t tell anyone!’’ She couldn’t look at him.
BANG!
Silence.
Toxinelle stepped back, sighing. Even though she knew it was a part of the job, she never particularly liked murdering innocent people. She didn’t enjoy it as much. It didn’t give her the satisfaction of getting revenge on someone who deserved it.
When she was with Griffe, he usually took charge and did the killing, which she didn’t mind. She gave him orders and he followed them loyally. She remembered the first day they ever met.
He immediately stood out to her. She was impossible to miss. He was extremely tall, had long green hair and bright neon purple eyes that were staring right back at her.
That’s when he started the whole annoying-nickname thing. It drove her insane. Although she tried to hate it, she secretly didn’t mind. She knew he was only teasing her, winding her up, and she understood his humour. They soon after became friends and quickly caught feelings for each other.
Inspecting the shelves of the closet, she reached for a garbage bag, which she threw over the man's head, and she breathed in a sigh of relief. Then she walked out to the elevators without a backward glance.
