Chapter Text
“Now that you bozos are healed up enough to be out of the med bay,” April triumphantly held Monopoly over her head. “It’s time for FAMILY GAME NIGHT!” She shook the box and the pieces rattled together.
There was a whoosh of electric doors, and then the lair was filled with the sound of steel toe boots clonking against concrete. Casey Junior rounded the corner and frantically gasped out “DID YOU SAY “FAMILY GAME NIGHT””
“I sure did future boy!” April said with a wink.
“I get to pick the first game because I’m the youngest!” CJ pumped both fists in the air and had an almost feverish look in his eye.
“No way! I’m the youngest! I get to pick!” Mikey pouted.
“I’m not even born yet!”
“You have facial hair, I think you’re older than me!”
“I was born in the apocalypse.” CJ emphasized.
There was a beat of silence, then Mikey kicked at an empty soda can on the ground and grumbled “you can’t use the apocalypse card for literally everything.”
“I can and I will!” CJ crowed.
“What has gotten into this kid?” Raph stage whispered to Leo.
“I gave him some sour patch kids. Case said he had them before.” Leo shrugged the best he could with crutches under his arms.
“I lied! Speaking of which, that’s the theme of the game! Truth serum or dare!”
“Truth serum or dare?” Donnie raised a drawn on eyebrow.
Casey reached into his pack and pulled out a handful of fluorescent purple vials. “Yep!” Casey popped the p with a smug smile. Raph was certain he’d seen that exact expression before on Leo after the Lair Games.
“Ooh juicy! I’m in!” Mikey rubbed his hands together.
“ABSOLUTELY NOT,” Donnie and Leo said in tandem.
“But Casey,” April said in a mock confused voice, “why oh why is this serum purple? Whoever could have made this for you?”
Donnie squinted at the vial for a moment. “If I play your game I get to analyze the serum? AND ask 5 questions about my future self.”
“1”
“4”
“3”
CJ smirked “fair enough!” They shook on it.
“Well, you’re never going to believe this, but I’m not in the mood for drinking some mystery potion. I’m going back to my room.” Leo turned away, and the crutches hit the ground with a click.
Raph held Leo under the armpits like a muddy toddler and brought him over to a chair at the kitchen table.
Leo let out an offended squawk. Raph then threw his crutches probably a little too hard down the hall. “Not on a broken femur with no crutches you’re not! We’re bonding! Raph has barely seen you since the, well, you know, and I miss you!” Raph said with a snaggletoothed grin.
“Also, this is one of the last things I have of my Donnie. It would bring me some closure to enjoy it together with you all.” Casey had a wet shine in his eye.
“Wow, who taught you how to weaponize guilt like that?” April asked humorously
“A very wise doctor from my time.” Casey replied solemnly.
“Dr. Delicate Touch?”
Casey snapped and pointed “That’s the one! Now… let’s play”
