Chapter Text

Anna Astor

9:30 pm, an unknown place in the woods

Crack. Thump. “ANNA?! ANNA?!” An unknown girl in the distance screeches for Anna, but no response. She screams again “ANNA?! PLEASE ANNA THIS ISN'T FUNNY!” But again, no response. “Come on Cass, we can't afford for anyone else to get hurt!” A brown-haired, teenage boy tugs Cassi out of the woods, leaving Anna. Anna was only a mere fifteen to twenty feet away half dead in a bear trap. Hours passed as Anna lay there, helpless. Her tears from the pain dried up along with her blood seeping through her injuries. Anna slowly fell in and out of consciousness until she heard two female voices, one more high-pitched, with sass, and another one more calm and collected.

“I'm not dumb Victoria! I swear I can sense that there is someone out here!” The sassy voice spat in retaliation, it seemed like the two women were arguing. “Says the one who led us to MULTIPLE dead ends.” The woman with a calm voice spoke, with a hint of annoyance in her voice. It seems that the two women have been searching for a while. Anna’s eyes widen as she listens to the conversation, she doesn't want to be in more trouble. Anna and her friends snuck into the woods as a dare from a popular girl whom Anna had a crush on. It was rumored that the woods were infested with vampires. Specifically, female vampires who are seeking revenge from the people who wronged them. Anna’s mind raced to find a way out, a way to not die. Anna’s life flashed before her eyes, she thought of her brother who left her, and then her mind went deeper into doubt, she thought of her younger sister whom she left all alone. Her chest heaved from the panic in her veins. The two women's feet crunched as they walked, the leaves being crushed beneath them until they abruptly stopped. “Holy. Shit.” The sassy woman's voice lost all of its sass, due to the sight of Anna in the bear trap. “What is it, Daisy?!” Victoria snapped her head towards Daisy, her eyes also widening at the bloody sight.

Victoria rushed over to Anna, panic overcoming her. “No, no, no!” Victoria’s voice cracked with sorrow. “Daisy! Stop standing there! Come here!” Victoria screeched at the frozen Daisy. Daisy snaps out of her shock and rushes over to Victoria, “Is she okay Vic?! Please tell me she's okay!!” Daisy spits out, her words jumbling as she speaks. “Call Elaine. Now.” Victoria hisses back at Daisy. Daisy fumbles as she gets out her phone to call Elaine, Daisy dials Elaine, and thankfully she picks up. “Hello Daisy, what do you need?” Elaine elegantly spoke, her voice was soft and smooth. “Elaine! Elaine! We found this girl, I-I don't know if she's alive! Please, I don't know what to do!” Daisy cried out. Elaine replied with a surprising calmness “Well it's simple, make her a part of the clan and turn her, bring her to me if she's dead.” Victoria’s eyes widened at Elaine’s statement “T-turn her?” Victoria mumbled it was unusual for Victoria to mumble. Elaine spoke up again “Yes Victoria. Turn her.” Victoria hesitated, but in the end, followed her queen's orders.

Anna’s breath hitched and a second of sharp pain pierced through her neck. Her body tensed then it went limp and she was unconscious. “Well, what do we do now?” Daisy could barely get the words out of her mouth, “It's simple logic, we take her to Elaine. Then she gets inducted and meets me more formally.” Victoria shuddered at the sight below her, she always had refused to turn someone, and she hated the thought of it. Today was different, much different. Victoria couldn't sit and let the poor girl die a slow death, not like how she died. Victoria held back her tears at the thought and proceeded to pick up Anna with surprising strength. The three girls disappear into the trees, leaving the blood-stained bear trap behind.
