Work Text:
“Buck, what are you doing?” Bobby asked, swatting Bucks phone away from his face. He had been trying to finish his paperwork upstairs but had been interrupted several times by Buck setting his phone up at a slight angle pointed to his head.
“Nothing Cap, just taking some photos.” Buck replied, taking his phone away and swiping through the photos he took, giggling away.
“Do I even want to know what he’s laughing at?” Hen asked as she walked over, Chimney and Eddie behind her.
“You do, guys check these out.” Buck held his phone out to show the others, swiping through the photos. Hen started giggling before it slowly turned into a belly laugh, holding onto the back of Bucks chair for support. Chimney snorted and clapped Buck on the back, Eddie sighed.
“I wish Chris didn’t show you how to use that filter.”
“Aw, but they’re funny.” Buck defended.
“They are! Cap, you gotta see these!” Hen laughed, tears pooling in her eyes.
Buck turned his phone around to show Bobby the pictures. He took the phone from Buck and held it out at an angle as he studied the pictures.
The first one was just of Bobbys forehead but it looked enlarged, the second one was similar but this time he was looking at the camera, his eyes at the bottom of the photo looking larger than usual. The rest of the photos were all in the same vein, with some having a guest appearance of his hand when he swatted the phone away.
He kept swiping through the photos, his face becoming more confused.
“Is this a new trend or something?” Bobby asked, handing the phone back.
“It’s a new feature on iPhones, Denny’s obsessed with it. Stealing mine or Karen’s phone to take these photos of us.” Hen explained, taking her phone out to show some of the photos her son took of her and her wife.
“And Chris decided to teach it to Buck, who has taken some really flattering photos of me.” Eddie said sarcastically, taking his own phone out to show the photos.
“I’m so glad that Jee doesn’t own a phone.” Chimney sighed in relief.
“She’s three, of course she doesn’t.” Hen said.
“No but have you seen the amount of kids these days with phones bigger than their faces?! I didn’t get my first phone until I was in my late teens, and I bought it myself.” Chimney said.
“I didn’t have my first phone until I was twenty-seven.” Bobby said, closing the file. He knew that he would never get any paperwork done anymore.
“I think Cap has you beat there Chim!” Eddie said.
“Well, Jees never getting her first phone until she’s seventeen.”

“Hey, how was work?” Athena asked, pressing a kiss to Bobbys cheek as she grabbed her mug.
“Weird. Did you know that there’s a new feature on the iPhones?”
“No, what is it?” Athena asked, taking a sip of her fresh coffee.
“It’s a filter that makes your face all weird. Buck was taking some of me this morning, apparently it’s the new craze with the kids these days.” Bobby explained.
“Hm. Let’s see the photos.”
Bobby sighed and got his phone out, the pictures that Buck took got sent to their group chat so that Ravi, who was off-shift, could see and for the others to have them. Hen shared some of the pictures of her and Karen that Denny had taken and Buck shared a few of Jee which prompted Chimney to take some of her and Maddie.
Athena took Bobbys phone and laughed lightly as she swiped through the photos. “They’re pretty funny, I have to admit. But if you or the kids ever decide to take a picture of me like that, you better count your days.”
“And on that note, dinner is served.”
