I might be overreacting, but is anyone else wondering where the hell Airplane went?? I’ve been following PIDW since the Cave of Carnal Pleasures Arc, and he’s never missed an update! I know PIDW is over now, but he said he’d be posting bonus chapters, right? It’s been weeks… where are they…

Suspicious lack of cucumber

So that post about Airplane not posting in a while got me thinking… has anyone heard from Peerless Cucumber lately? He was the real reason I was reading PIDW at a certain point lol I’ve never seen a guy leave such long hate comments on something they’re paying for! I could suffer through any poorly written chapter just to read his takedown of it. But I haven’t seen him around lately! Not even responding to other people's comments. Anyone know where he’s gone?

I’ve connected the dots

everyone's coming up with so many good conspiracy theories about Airplane's disappearance, so I’m jumping on the theory bandwagon! It's been months, and we haven't heard anything from Airplane OR Peerless Cucumber. I've never seen EITHER of them go on a hiatus that lasted longer than a few days, much less two months. Which got me thinking, why would they both disappear at the same time? One of them going inactive is one thing, but both of them at the same time? It's gotta be connected. There’s only one logical conclusion: the last chapter of PIDW pissed Cucumber off so badly that he finally snapped and hunted down Airplane and killed him. It’s the only thing that makes sense. Definitely more realistic than both of them deciding to have a life offline.

Enemies-to-lovers Peerless Cucumber/Airplane Shooting Towards The Sky RPF 18+ don’t like don’t read!

Well, I’ve finally cracked. I had three exams this week and ended up in the hospital a few days ago (im fine, don’t worry about it) but the whims of fanfiction wait for no one! I was inspired by that post a couple months ago theorizing that the reason they’d both disappeared was because Cucumber lost it and tracked Airplane down. Kicking his ass over PIDW is all well and good but… what if they kissed about it. And then did more. I initially said it as a joke, but that's always the first mistake because after that the idea just wouldn't leave my head... Here is the result of me being absolutely haunted by the idea. Airplane has finally landed

Wow, you go inactive for a few months, and everyone decides you’re a missing person. I’m touched by everyone’s concern, really. It’s been very entertaining returning to this subreddit after so long away! I’m pleased to see everything has gone completely off the rails in my absence.

I’d love to offer an explanation for why I was gone, but I’m afraid I can’t! It’s too personal and frankly too absurd to try and explain. I’ll just say some of your theories were completely incorrect, and some of them got very close to the truth. I won’t say which though ;)

Accuracy aside, my favorite theory might be that RPF fic that was posted a while back. That was hilarious, and it made Cucumber-bro shriek some very creative expletives when I showed it to him. His reaction made it even better! Dear fanfiction author, thank you for your fine work. I’m sure Cucumber-bro will be leaving a comment that’s half the length of the fic itself in your inbox soon. I’m tempted to print it out and keep it, but I’m worried Cucumber-bro’s husband might kill me if he finds out about it, so maybe not.

Now, as for PIDW business: I know I promised bonus chapters. I see a lot of you unsubscribed because you didn’t receive them! Ruthless! My poor bank account is weeping. I really did have several bonus chapters drafted. Bing-ge was going to fight more monsters, deflower more maidens, have more elaborate sex with his more neglected wives! But posting those just doesn’t feel right anymore. I know it’s been months for you guys, but let this writer tell you, it’s felt like much longer to me! Instead, I have something else for you all. I can’t exactly claim to have written this one all by myself. Cucumber-bro had more to do with the plot than I did. Maybe he’d be generous enough to list me as a co-author? Regardless, he gave me reluctant permission to share his hard work! Or rather, he finally caved after I bothered him about it for several hours, and he said “fuck it, it won’t matter once we’re home again,” which I’m going to count as permission. I’ll link the PDF at the bottom of this post.

With that, I have one last piece of big news: this is the last thing I’m going to post. Probably ever. Some pretty major things have changed in my life. Impossible things! It’s very scary! It’s also better than I could’ve imagined. Maybe I’ve turned sappy in my old age. Gross. Regardless, life as webnovel author Airplane Shooting Towards The Sky has to be put behind me. I’ll miss a lot of things about this life, but relying on all you horny bastards to pay rent is not one of them. Ah, well. On to better things!
