Get some rest goddammit

Summary:

So I redid the scene where Harumi was blow drying Aki to protect him from getting a cold. He did a get a cold and we get a mini sickfic

Notes:

Anytime I add to this series it's good for my series and also the sickfic tag (before I die I need it to get to 5000 pages) but it's always a bad day for me. Like this what I do so I don't do something to myself.

Anyway enjoy!

Work Text:

Harumi sighed as he blow dried Aki’s hair. He was going to get himself sick. Aki already looked half asleep, and his complexion was paler than Harumi’s hair.

“Do you wanna talk about it?” Harumi asked, tentatively. He wasn’t sure how to comfort people, he was already fairly bad at talking to people and Aki was the only one he could talk to well enough.

Aki looked down at his hands. “I’m just such a failure.”

Harumi’s expression went cold. “Who called you that?”

“What?” Aki asked, looking up.

“Who called you that?” Harumi asked. “Because I’ll kill them and make it an accident.”

Aki cracked a grin. “I just can’t keep up with school and stuff. I’m worried I’m going to disappoint my brother.”

Harumi nodded although he didn’t quite understand it. “You’re not a failure. And if your brother really loves you he’d want you to take care of yourself.”

Aki looked away. “I just need to work harder.”

Harumi turned off the hairdryer. He placed it on the table.

He moved around the table to where his seat was directly beside Aki’s. Without thinking he pulled him into a hug.

He wasn’t sure if it was customary here, it was fairly normal to give hugs in the US but it might not be culturally appropriate here.

“You are enough Aki,” he whispered into his ears. “Even if you don’t believe it.”

He felt soft tears wet his shoulder. But Aki nodded all the same.

Suddenly Aki’s body went limp. Harumi turned his head to look at him and Aki had fallen asleep on his shoulder.

When was the last time Aki had slept? That boy needed some self care skills.

He gently shook Aki. “C'mon let’s get you to the couch.”

Aki seemed to wake up. “What? I should probably head home. My sister will be worried.”

“It’s fine, I’ll send her a text. You’re too weak to walk home, and it’s still raining.”

“When did you get my sister’s number?” Aki asked, as Harumi helped him to the couch. He was a lot heavier than Harumi had expected but he managed to walk the few feet to the couch.

“Get some sleep. When the rain dies down we can see about getting you home,” Harumi said, grabbing a blanket from the chair and wrapping Aki in it.

Aki nodded weakly, and soon fell asleep.

Once Harumi was sure he was asleep, he reached over to feel Aki’s forehead. He had a fever. Harumi wasn’t sure if it was because of the rain, or all the stress he had been under but Aki definitely couldn’t go to school the next day.

He pulled his phone out and texted Aki’s sister. She responded back immediately after he sent the text. It seemed she had been worried about Aki, but she was relieved Harumi was taking care of him. She said she would help him get him home when the rain died down. That would be another few hours at least.

About thirty minutes into Aki’s nap on the couch, he awoke. Harumi had been reading a book when he heard Aki begin to stir.

“Where am I?” he asked, groggily.

“You’re in my apartment asshole.”

Aki seemed to become more aware of what was going on. “Fuck, I have school work to do.”

Harumi, figuring Aki would try to get up, tackled him. Aki was still weak due to his cold and lack of sleep so he overpowered him almost immediately.

“You’re not doing any school work.”

“But Harumi I neeeeeed to,” Aki said, giving him puppy eyes.

Harumi ignored him. “You’re going to relax. You’re sick, and if you don’t rest I’ll lock you in this house so you can’t go to your exams.”

“WHAT?” Aki asked, eyes wide. “YOU WOULDN’T!”

Harumi narrowed his eyes. “There’s a lot of things I would and will do.”

“Fine,” Aki said, slumping down into the couch. “Just pull up some netflix or something.”

Harumi nodded, turning on the tv and starting a movie.

He barely paid attention to the movie. Harumi was more lost in thought. They had sat up on the couch, but Aki was leaning on him heavily. Their hips were touching and Harumi could feel the feverish warmth coming off of Aki’s body.

During the middle of the movie, Harumi felt a weight on his shoulder. He turned his head slightly to see a sleeping Aki parked on his shoulder.

Harumi rolled his eyes, the dumbass couldn’t even stay awake for the movie. How did he manage to stay awake during the school day?

He didn’t want to wake him up, so he just wrapped his arm around Aki’s shoulder, pulling him closer to Harumi.

Aki muttered something in his sleep, but when he was pulled to Harumi’s chest he seemed to like that better. He mumbled something else, nuzzling into his chest.

It felt nice.

He hadn’t had anyone to snuggle with in a while. And Harumi hadn’t realized how much he missed it.

Harumi gently turned off the tv and closed his eyes leaning back on the couch. He could stay like this forever.
