Chapter Text
Everybody had noticed it eventually, even if they didn't let on. With the way Bakugou's rage was always amplified anytime the weekend or any type of break from school was near, even anytime somebody had mentioned going home. It was like his emotions skyrocketed, despite nobody being to blame, Bakugou snapped at them all. Way more then he normally would. The only person who seemed unaffected was Midoriya.
It became incredibly obvious something was wrong when whole class pack was sitting in the common room together, most people snuggled into one another while watching a movie. Even though Bakugou has never been part of the class pack, he usually agreed to join the pack movie nights. Such as tonight. Bakugou's phone started ringing, and when he had picked up his phone to look at the caller ID he had paled and nearly knocked Kirishima off the couch by how quickly he stood up.
"Woah- Bakubro?" Bakugou seemed to completely ignore Kirishima in favor of swearing under his breath, his eyes darted around the room quickly before landing on Midoriya. Bakugou grumbled to himself, answering the call and pressing his phone to his ear as he quickly walked into the kitchen. Midoriya watched after him, staring at the kitchen entrance as Bakugou stepped into the kitchen and out of sight of the prying eyes in the common room.
It took less then a few seconds for the sound of Bakugou yelling to be heard, though his words were slightly muffled by the distance and nobody really thought it was anything new. They only got a little worried when it went dead silent a few minutes later, most of them now had there focus on the kitchen entrance along with Midoriya who had been watching the kitchen entrance like a hawk since Bakugou had stepped away.
After a few worrying seconds of pure silence, Bakugou yelled. A completely guttural noise filled with so much emotion, followed by what everybody assumed to be Bakugou's phone flying out of the kitchen entrance and smashing off a wall in the common room. It was most definitely broken now from the force of the throw.
Bakugou emerged a few seconds later, his eyes rimmed red and an even angrier scowl then usual on his face. Bakugou looked towards the shattered bits of his phone before anybody else, deflating a little when he realized it had broke. He then pin pointed Midoriya with his gaze, and without saying anything Midoriya was already up on his feet. Midoriya walked to Bakugou, slipping his own phone out of his back pocket and handing it to Bakugou.
"You should let her know if she needs you she can text me, say that once you got off the phone one of us came by and you dropped it. It broke." Bakugou took Midoriya's phone, taking a deep breath before most likely doing what Midoriya had told him to do. Which was a surprise to everyone, Bakugou had never listened to anybody, especially not Midoriya about anything. No matter the importance, really.
"She's going to be so mad." Bakugou muttered, he leaned into Midoriya's side a bit, a new sight for everybody. The rest of the class pack watched in amazement as Midoriya put his wrist on Bakugou's shoulder, lightly scenting him, and Bakugou allowed it! Bakugou never allowed anybody to scent him, which was understandable. He wasn't a part of the class pack, and they had assumed he was a beta. He didn't need to be scented, and he didn't need to be in a pack.
"It's going to be okay, Kacchan. I'll buy you a new phone, she wont have a reason to be mad then." Bakugou handed Midoriya his phone back, laughing dryly. "She always finds a reason to be mad."
A break home had come and gone like nothing to most of the class, it was fun and relaxing for most of them. Those who had fun had all come back laughing and smiling, telling each other how great their own break had been. Midoriya was oddly quiet when he returned, and Bakugou had yet to return, which was unusual for the both of them.
Midoriya was usually easily roped into conversations, and Bakugou was always one of the first to return. Yet Midoriya was now sat in the common area, facing the door with a stern gaze, and Bakugou was yet to be back. Nobody had really put Midoriya's anxious behavior towards anything, writing it off as his usual self as he was more often than not anxious for one reason or another.
That assumption had been squashed when a low growl from Midoriya had snapped everyone's attention to him, which caused them all to follow his line of sight. They all let out shocked and horrified gasps once they saw Bakugou standing at the entrance. He had a black eye, his hair was messed up and singed, along with his clothes, and he returned without the bag he had left with.
Bakugou ignored everybody and marched up to Midoriya who stood and met him partway in the middle. "I told you she would be fucking mad." Bakugou spat, though no real anger seemed to be behind his words, at least not any directed at Midoriya.
"Did you tell her id buy you a new phone?" Bakugou nodded, leaning his head towards Midoriya slightly. Midoriya raised his wrist, scenting Bakugou by rubbing his wrist over Bakugou's shoulder like he did before the break. "Pissed her off more, she assumed I was forcing you to spend money on me." Midoriya huffed, shaking his head with a deep frown on his lips.
"Go get an ice pack, and what happened to your things?" Bakugou grumbled to himself for a few seconds, the two staying oblivious to the sea of onlookers. "She called me a bitch cause I yelled at her, I tried telling her I wasn't making you spend money. She took all my shit and said I wasn't allowed to bring it back, I'd be lucky if I ever get any of it back. She's probably ruined everything already." Bakugou shrugged Midoriya's wrist off his shoulder, brushing past him to go to the kitchen to grab an ice pack like Midoriya had told him to.
Midoriya followed after him, continuing the conversation away from the others now. Everyone else had stayed put, mulling over the information they had just learned. They could only assume 'her' and 'she' were referring to Bakugou's mother, but that would mean something that nobody wanted to unpack or dwell on. But it had to be brought attention, Midoriya seemed to know about whatever was going it. It seemed to not be a new thing, it was a normal to the two of them. Which was another thing nobody wanted to unpack.
Bakugou had left the dorms to go shopping, taking a list made up of everybody's needs and wants. The class pack knew it would be the perfect chance to ask Midoriya about everything, Bakugou would be gone for a while and it would give them all the time they'd need. Hopefully.
"Midoriya?" It was Kirishima who spoke up first, getting a hum from the green haired alpha as he turned to look at the other alpha. "Yes, Kirishima-kun?" Kirishima fidgeted for a moment, inhaling deeply. "Does Bakugou's mother.. Hurt him?" Everyone held their breath in the silence that followed, waiting for Midoriya to confirm or deny.
"She does." Midoriya said after a few minutes, a deep frown on his face. "She always has." He continued, "She acts so nice around others, nobody ever believed us when we told the adults we thought we could trust. It resulted in a bigger issue for kacchan, So we stopped trying to tell people." It was silent once again as everybody digested the news.
"Don't you think you could tell Mr. Aizawa? He's a Pro Hero, he wouldn't just ignore a claim like that." Uraraka piped up, Midoriya nodded slightly. "Kacchan said Mr. Aizawa visited his house, he saw Mitsuki hit Kacchan. Multiple times, and he hasn't said anything to Kacchan yet. But we both believe he's trying to do something about it. We just aren't sure what yet." A few sighs were let out around the room, at least somebody was doing something. Hopefully
It's been a few weeks since the class pack has found out that Bakugou's mother down right abuses him. Not just hitting, it's far worse then that. Bakugou will return from breaks and weekends with black eyes, cuts across his cheeks and arms, he came back with a broken nose once too. He refused to tell anybody but Midoriya what had happened, but everybody got the gist of it. They didn't need to pry, they just hoped it could be stopped soon.
