Chapter Text
Today is one of those days that feels endless. It had started like any other, Logan woke you up by softly kissing your neck. When you opened your eyes and said his name, he smiled and kiss you on the lips, a pretty good morning if you say so yourself. Unfortunately, there wasn’t time for much else, so you took a quick shower, drank the coffee that Logan made for you, and you went to work. That’s where things took a bad turn.
Your boss and your colleagues were testing your patience today. During your break, you went to the office café to grab a bite and enjoy some peaceful time, but they messed up your order, and you ended up having lunch at your desk while you worked.
You could feel a headache starting to form, nothing is going well today and your mood is getting worse, you’re starting to overthink everything. You think about calling Logan to complain a little, maybe ask him to stop by the office, but the last thing you want to do is to bother or worry him by being whiny.
Once your shift is over, things do not get better. On your way home, you stop by your favourite bakery to buy a little treat for yourself. All morning you thought about getting a piece of their chocolate cake after work, so you could eat it on the couch, wearing your comfy pyjamas while talking shit about your boss with Logan. Sadly, once you get there, you see there isn’t any left. Yes, you could get something else, but suddenly none of the other delicious treats are catching your eye, so you go home empty-handed.
When you are approaching your flat, you feel like you can breathe again. Home is your safe place, you need to be cuddling Logan or taking a two-hour-long shower. Maybe cry a little, too. Suddenly, you see a group of teens walking towards you, laughing and pushing each other. Just what you need. When you walk past them, god forbid they actually get out of your way, instead, they whisper and giggle, looking at you. On a normal day, you would have ignored them, they are immature kids being annoying, you’d have even given them one of your angry looks, but today isn’t your day. Their giggles make you feel self-conscious, and suddenly you aren’t a 26-year-old woman going back home after work, you are 12 and kids from your class are making fun of the clothes you wear and the way your body look.
You walk fast to your flat and run up the stairs. You don’t even take your keys out, you just bang at the door. When Logan opens it, and you see him on the other side, you feel your body instantly begin to relax. He is wearing a soft looking brown flannel, your favourite. He is frowning, probably ready to tell off whoever thought it was okay to aggressively knock at his door.
“Doll?” he says the moment he sees you, his frown leaving his face.
You don’t know if it is because you’re finally home or because Logan looks extra cuddly today, but all you can do is hug his waist and hide your face in the middle of his strong chest. “Today was shit”, you say, voice muffled.
Without saying anything else, he bends and picks you up, closing the door with his foot and carrying you to the couch. “Careful, last time you made a hole on it”.
Logan chuckles and kisses your head, sitting on the couch and making sure you're comfortable on his lap. “Well, we were more preoccupied that day, weren’t we?”
You blush and remember that night. You probably didn’t help things, lips hot on his neck, whining for him to take you to bed. Logan taking off your jacket and your shoes takes you back to the present. “So, what happened today?”
You hide your face again, but this time on his neck. “Work was awful. I hate my job, I hate everyone there. Today everything felt ten times harder”.
Logan caresses your hair while you’re speaking, his other hand is drawing circles on your back. “You could have called me, and I’d have picked you up, baby. Or we could have had lunch together”.
“It’s okay, I thought the after work walk was going to help me feel better, but I bumped into a bunch of kids, and they were laughing and being kids, I guess… well the thing is I felt so small, dumb and just awful. I guess I’m sensitive today, it’s stupid”.
Logan holds your face gently with both of his hands, squeezing your cheeks together. “Hey, none of that. You’re not dumb, and it’s okay to have bad days. You were overwhelmed, doll. Is there anything I can do to help?”
You feel tears fill your eyes. You wish you could turn your head away. Logan is obviously older than you, he is older than every single person alive in the world, but still you struggle with the idea of him seeing you as an overly sensitive baby every time you get emotional in front of him. Your brain was not being your friend today, you know Logan could never think that about you, quite the opposite, he has told you many times he loves how you can show your emotions without feeling weak because of it, and how you were teaching him to do the same.
“A kiss?” You end up saying.
Logan looks at you like you’re the most precious thing in the world, and kisses you. There’s no rush, the kiss does not feel like the beginning of something bigger, it’s just a kiss full of love and care. Logan lips feel soft against yours, they taste like the dark coffee he likes and his cigars, which shouldn’t be as hot as it is. He places his big hands on your waist and holds you tightly, making sure you won’t fall. He breaks the kiss and looks you in the eye, your faces are still as close as they can be without your lips touching. Logan smiles, “Better?”
You can’t help but smile, too, “Better. Thank you, babe, I love you”.
It’s a bit crazy to you how Logan can be literally always flirting with you, and how he can whisper to you the filthiest dirty talk you’ve ever heard in your life, but then he blushes every time you tell him you love him.
“I love you too, princess”. He hugs you to his chest and tackles you to the couch, kissing your neck and making you giggle
“Logan stop” you say laughing, hands buried in his soft hair.
He rests his chin on your chest and looks up at you. “I have a little something for you”.
You smile. “I don’t know if I’m in the mood for sex right now”.
“That’s not what I meant! I said little”. He gets up, and you use the opportunity to kick him in his perfectly shaped ass.
When Logan comes back, you sit up, crossing your legs. He has a medium-sized box on his hands.
“I went for a walk this morning and I saw they were selling your favourite chocolate cake in the bakery down the road”.
You open the box and there it is, the cake you wanted to get after work.
“Logan! I went there after my shift, and they didn’t have any left!”
He smiles and sit back, placing his hands behind his head. “That sounds like I’m the best boyfriend in the world, doesn’t it?”
“You really are, babe”.
You kiss him and together you eat the cake. After that, Logan runs a bath for you and leaves you to it once it is ready. He knows in days like this you need your alone time to take a deep breath and process all your feeling. But after the bath, you plan to show him how thankful you are for everything he does for you.
