Work Text:
Free. He was free. Free of emails. Free of paperwork. Free of Initiative bullshit. Free for two whole days. He was going to enjoy every second.
"Pathfinder", Liam called, as he stepped into the cargo bay.
"No Pathfinder here. If it can't wait two days, go find Cora. She's in charge."
"Oh, right. Nevermind. Enjoy your time off."
"I will."
He stepped off the ship, breathing deeply. The smell of sulfur was completely gone and the sun was shining bright. It was a perfect day. Or it would be when he found Reyes. He'd emailed saying he would be working at Kralla's so that's where he headed. Looking around as he walked, he saw improvements everywhere. That walkway no longer had a hole in it. That shop was no longer covered in rust. The Collective had been busy since he'd last been on planet. Reyes had said they were doing improvements but it was different seeing it all in person. Seeing it looking like what they'd all been promised over 600 years ago.
Walking into the bar, he glanced around the shadows first. Nothing. Where was-? There. He started towards the corner table where Reyes was talking to a man in scavenger armor. His grin disappeared as he got close enough to overhear them. Overhear how the man was talking to his man.
"Come on. A man as gorgeous as you, as smart as you, should know a good deal when he hears it. I'm already going down to cost on this. You won't get better." Was he flirting with him? Stepping into the shadows, he watched them. Watched as the man ran a hand along his arm and left it resting there. Watched as Reyes let him. "Tell the Charlatan she'll have a firm trade partner in us." That bastard. Touching what was his. "In me. But if you need more convincing, maybe we could find somewhere more private." Okay. That did it.
"Hands off" he ordered, marching over to the table, glaring at the man. "Right now." He crossed his arms so he wouldn't punch him as he looked up at him with a sneer on his face.
"Well, if it isn't the Initiative's errand boy. Go fetch somewhere else. This doesn't concern you."
"I said-." He placed his hands on the table, leaning into his space. "Get your hands off him."
"Fuck off. This-." Without realizing, his biotics activated, swirling around him.
"You fuck off. Or I'll-."
Reyes sighed, distracting him, as he removed the man's hand and swiped on his omni-tool.
"Deal. But I want it delivered immediately. Go to headquarters. Find Trenton. She'll tell you where to deliver it to. And unless you want to become a splat on the ceiling, I'd leave now." As the man half ran from the bar, and he wasn't the only one, Reyes placed a hand over his. "Baby, you want to dim the light show before Umi kicks us out?" He growled and stalked outside to make sure the man wasn't waiting for them. He was touching him. Flirting with him. Luckily though, the man had listened and was already at the door to headquarters when he spotted him. But now he had no one to punch so he punched the wall beside him instead, denting it deeply.
"That was just fixed yesterday." He whirled around to see Reyes standing there, totally unfazed. "Baby, you need to breathe. You go supernova, you'll take out the entire port." He breathed, feeling his biotics dissipate.
"Biotics can't go supernova. That's a myth."
"Other biotics, sure. You, I'm not so sure. You've already done impossible things. That was my last piece of business for the day. Want to head home?" His biotics flickered as he glanced towards headquarters again. "Or we can hang out here some more."
"He touched you."
"Scott,-."
"Put his hands all over you."
"Is that what-? Baby, are you jealous?"
"No." He wasn't. No way. "Let's go home." He headed for the elevator, kicking the door to the docking bay when it cycled too slowly.
"You're racking up quite the debt, my love. Might end up owing me by the time we reach our home."
"Don't." He stalked past everyone, not stopping 'til he reached the elevator, Reyes right on his heels.
"Do you want-?" He pushed him against the wall, pressing his lips against his. Reyes eagerly returned the kiss, wrapping his arms around him. "Hmm, that's more like it", he murmured, as they separated. "I missed you too."
"You let him touch you." Touch what was his. He grabbed his arm right over where that piece of shit had touched.
"I did. But I believe you also saw me not touching him back. Not flirting back. Letting him think he had a chance got the Collective those weapons at a steep discount to what was originally offered. You profited mightily too, my queen."
"I didn't like it."
"I noticed. Never took you for a jealous type, baby."
"I wasn't jealous." He was right. Jealousy wasn't him. "I was-."
"I believe possessive is more correct", SAM interrupted.
"Fuck off, SAM."
"Don't yell at SAM." He grabbed his hand. "Especially when I think he's right. Not that I mind. I've come to enjoy being yours. And that was quite a display."
"Umi is probably pissed."
"I'll pay off part of my tab. That should make her happy again." He couldn't believe he had done that. Him. The always cool, in control Pathfinder.
"That wasn't me. I don't-."
"But it was. My queen. The man I love. The one I want beside me always." This was starting to sound like something.
"It's only been six months. You better not be-."
"No. But just so you know, it has been added to my plans for a future date." Figured.
"I love you." He hadn't even flinched once when his biotics activated. Didn't call him foolish for feeling as he had. Never before had someone got him as he did.
"I love you too, baby. Now, why don't we go home, hmm? I've shown you I'm yours. I think it's time you show me how fully you're mine."
