Chapter Text
The mission was easy.
The mission was going to be easy. She was going to make sure of it.
They were divided into 5 teams of duos, each with different responsibilities.
Team Nest, consisting of Sasha and Milla, were manning their ride and keeping up communications with the other teams.
Team Scout, consisting of Razputin and Lili, acted as the scouts in the ventilation shafts. They scoured through swiftly, and assisted the other teams when necessary.
Team Tech, consisting of Norma and Gisu, had snuck their way to the main control booth, and were attempting to extract the information needed from the hosts of the event. Having access to the camera feed also made it easier on knowing where everyone was, and communicating that to the other teams.
Team Divert, consisting of Sam and Morris, in disguise and attempting to distract and draw any party goers and security away from the path to the control booth. Even if this was meant to be easy, there was still risk in harming or psychically subduing anyone.
And Team Party, consisting of Lizzie and Adam, who were in disguise and keeping up with the event being hosted, attempting to scrounge as much information as they can before they had to bail. Although the two seemed to be having a lot of fun while doing so.
Norma was watching their dancing on the camera feed. That was what she was left with, after all. Gisu had claimed that she had the data breaching handled, and Norma just had to keep an eye out. Despite her studying of the mission, Norma wasn't entirely familiar on this organization, but from the files she was given knew that they had managed to get private information on many psychonauts and plans, and the breach was to clear it from the system.
Just a simple grab and go, nothing more, nothing less. Everything was going perfectly.
The music was building up to a crescendo, and the end of this particular piece. Just in time for them to finish up and make their departure. The movement in the event became much more dramatic, much more romantic. Despite Lizzie and Adam's disguises, Norma would have never guessed that her own sister would take up on their current set up.
A couplet, a duet twirling in their own world. As much as they matched with the other party goers, Norma's eyes became fixated on them. Their movements continuing to grow with the music.
Until-
A spin, a dip, and-
"Got it! Team Nest, we've got the data wiped, ready to initiate getaway." Gisu announced, having finalized the breach.
"Wonderful, darlings. Now let's get everyone out." Milla responded, her voice sounding excited at the prospect of them being successful.
"All teams, leave as soon as possible, the mission is complete. I repeat, leave as soon as possible." Sasha extended this message to all of the teams, which likely took a lot of focus on his part.
As Gisu collected up her equipment and stepped over the unconscious man who had once been on camera duty, Norma thought to herself of what she had just seen. A glance back at the cameras revealed Team Divert were making their way through the halls in search for an exit, and her hearing revealed Team Scout up above. (Who had also started putting the unconscious man back into his seat, resetting the room to how they found it)
But they were hesitating. Their forms still in the low of the dip. Norma started to walk back to the door, her gloved hands holding the handle, but she couldn't just leave. Not without knowing they had, too.
"C'mon, we're gonna get caught!" Gisu was quiet, but made her anxiousness clear. They had to go, but Norma couldn't push herself. Finally Gisu opened the door herself, and proceeded to drag Norma along with her.
They couldn't get into the vents like Raz and Lili had. Gisu technically could, given her stature, but their team had to stick together. Norma could hear the telepathic communication, but wasn't listening to what was being said, letting Gisu drag her along. She couldn't believe it had happened, and on a mission no less!
'What were they thinking? What was she thinking?' Norma's thoughts were stuck on them, on what no one else saw.

"Woo-hoo! That was awesome, guys!" Gisu excitedly cheered as they entered the hotel. The mission was completed and all that was left to do was get packed back up and leave first thing in the morning. For now, though, the junior psychonauts and their seniors earned a night of rest within a high quality hotel.
"I can't wait for our next one!" Raz jumped excitedly as he walked through the doorway, Lili strolling by his side as she looked around.
They had gotten two connected rooms, that were fairly sized with two beds and a couch each, T.V.s, and an interconnected bathroom. One room had a balcony, and the other had a round table with four chairs on each side.
"We were only allotted these two rooms, so bed sharing will be necessary." Sasha announced as he carried in multiple bags with telekinesis, along with Milla.
"Sasha and I will take the couches, you children can have the beds. Now let's see," Milla looked amongst the junior psychonauts and quickly realized the uneven mix amongst them, "Adam and Morris, if you two wouldn't mind sharing a bed? And Razputin, Lili, you two can share one too."
"Alright, Milla, let me get a good feel for the beds, gotta get the best one!" Morris quickly rolled off on his lev-chair, making his way to the beds to squish down on them, Gisu, Lili, and Sam quickly following behind in a similar attempt of finding which beds were best.
Norma didn't care much about it, she knew Milla was just trying to make it easier. She was already used to being in separate quarters than the boys, given the set-up in the dorms. Although Norma couldn't ignore the glance she saw between Lizzie and Adam, and the quick turn the two made when they noticed each other.
"Alright, let's figure out the placements, children." Milla announced, grabbing everyone's attention.
