Work Text:

Sehun jolted awake, a wave of confusion washing over him as he reached out to the empty space beside him. Was last night just a dream? But the spot where his companion had slept still radiated warmth, like a gentle reminder that it was all real. The air was filled with a sweet scent of cucumber and melon—a surprisingly delightful combo that lingered in the room. A smile tugged at his lips as he thought about their time together.

He liked that they shared the night; it wasn’t just the spicy adventures that had him grinning—it was the warmth of having someone special by his side.

“Okay, time to get up!” he said to no one in particular, shaking off the remnants of sleep. He splashed cold water on his face, brushed his teeth, and steeled himself for what awaited him outside the door.

As he stepped into the kitchen, his heart skipped a beat. There, clad in his white T-shirt that fell to his knees, was Junmyeon—his love, his everything. He hummed a cheerful tune, a lively melody that Sehun didn’t quite recognize but found utterly charming. As Junmyeon danced around the kitchen, busy preparing breakfast, his movements flowed effortlessly, turning the mundane task of cooking into a delightful performance that captivated Sehun’s heart.

Sehun leaned against the doorframe, utterly captured. Junmyeon danced a little, flipping pancakes while sneaking in gentle words to their dog, Vivi, who sat nearby, tail wagging in delight.

This was the kind of morning that made Sehun’s heart swell. As he watched Junmyeon sing to their breakfast and their dog, he felt the urge to share this moment with someone who would truly get it. So, he pulled out his phone, ready to call the one person who would understand just how perfect this was.

“Yeol, have you ever woken up one morning to find him cooking your breakfast, humming a catchy tune, and casually petting your perpetually grumpy dog? And at that moment, you just want to settle down?” Sehun asked his best friend, Chanyeol, after picking up the call. “Because that’s exactly how I’m feeling right now—and trust me, it’s a whole lot more romantic than it sounds!”

Chanyeol had just stepped out of his room to grab a book and join his husband, Jongdae, who was reading in the living room when his phone rang. “For me, it was when he’s just lounging around with that adorable scrunchy face, scratching our dog’s ears. And that moment, Sehun, yes—that’s the answer,” Chanyeol said with a grin. He strolled over to the couch and gently scratched the back of Jongdae’s ears, one of his favorite gestures.

“That’s why you’re my best friend,” Sehun replied, chuckling.

“Cheers to that!” Chanyeol responded, before hanging up the phone, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

Jongdae glanced at Chanyeol with a curious expression. “Who’s that? ”He asked, intrigued.

“Oh, it’s nothing! Just some delightful morning realizations,” Chanyeol replied cheerfully, still softly scratching his ears.

Jongdae shrugged, a smile creeping onto his face as he returned to his book. “Well, keep those realizations coming, because they seem to work wonders! ”He teased, unable to hide his amusement.

Sehun set down the phone, a smile still dancing on his lips as he continued to watch his boyfriend in the kitchen. Every so often, Junmyeon would tug at his shirt, which kept slipping off his shoulders, revealing his smooth nape. Sehun couldn't help but remember how he’d admired that same nape last night. A smirk crept onto his face at the thought.

Unable to resist any longer, Sehun approached, wrapping his arms around Junmyeon and planting a kiss on his nape. Junmyeon jumped in surprise. “Sehun! You scared me! Don’t do that again while I’m cooking!”He exclaimed, removing his earphones and pouting (no wonder he hadn’t noticed Sehun sneaking up on him!)

Sehun chuckled, completely enamored. “Okay, I’m sorry! You were just so focused on your culinary masterpiece, and I can’t help but love watching you in my kitchen—well, our kitchen—where I barely use it!”

Junmyeon rolled his eyes, a smile tugging at his lips. “You just need to believe what I’m saying, Junmyeon.”

“Whatever, Sehun. Coffee? ”Junmyeon finally relented, his eyes sparkling as he offered him a cup.

Sehun took a sip from Junmyeon’s cup, savoring the rich flavor. “Mmm, this is great! You should cook more often! ”He teased, watching as Junmyeon beamed and returned to cooking their breakfast, a soft tune escaping his lips.

After a hearty breakfast, Sehun volunteered to wash the dishes so Junmyeon could kick back and relax. He found Junmyeon in the living room, lounging on the couch and furiously checking his work emails on his phone. Sehun plopped down beside him and gently urged Junmyeon to rest his head on his lap. While Junmyeon settled in, Sehun found himself mesmerized, taking in every detail of his boyfriend’s face while running his fingers through his fluffy hair.

“What is it, Sehun? ”Junmyeon asked, breaking the spell as he continued to scroll through his emails.

“What do you mean, ‘what’? I’m not doing anything,” Sehun protested, feigning innocence.

“Exactly! You’re doing nothing! ”Junmyeon exclaimed, finally putting his phone down. “You’re just... staring. I’m not uncomfortable, but there’s something about your gaze,” he added, snuggling deeper into Sehun’s lap.

“Junmyeon, you’re just overthinking it. I love looking at your face—seriously, just appreciate it! Do you even realize how soft your features are? I want to remember the shape of your eyebrows, the curve of your lips, and the way your nose scrunches up when you’re concentrating. Honestly, I’d etch all that into my memory if I could! ”Sehun said, gently tracing the outline of Junmyeon’s face as if he were a sculptor crafting a masterpiece.

Junmyeon was left speechless, a blush creeping onto his cheeks. “Thanks for the compliments, Mr. Oh,” he said with a playful smile, leaning back into Sehun’s lap. He guided Sehun’s hand back to his hair. “Now, keep the praise coming while you comb my hair,” he said, a cheeky grin spreading across his face.

“You’ve been so busy lately, I barely see you! I’m thankful that the event is over.” Sehun said, playfully running his fingers through Junmyeon’s hair like he was trying to untangle a mess.

Junmyeon shifted and wrapped his arms around Sehun’s waist. “Yeah, well, it’s tough to relax when I’m so worried about the exhibition. This is my first big show since I became the manager.” He let out a long sigh, like a drama queen.

“Aw, poor baby! Don’t worry, Everything was awesome. Your artistic vision is like magic—just look at how you turned that boring wall into something special!” Sehun said, giving Junmyeon’s back a comforting pat.

“Really? Or are you just saying that to make me feel better?” Junmyeon shot back with a teasing grin.

Sehun laughed, imagining his boyfriend’s classic pout. “Hey, I’m just saying, if you can make me look this good in a relationship, you definitely have a knack for turning the ordinary into something amazing! ”

Junmyeon stood up and settled on Sehun’s lap, giving him a quick peck before holding his face gently. “Have I told you how grateful I am that you came into my life? ” He gazed at Sehun, as if trying to memorize every inch of his face.

“Yes!” Sehun replied, returning the kiss. “Texted it.” Peck. “And also emailed it.” Peck.

He heard Junmyeon giggle- one of the most beautiful sounds he ever heard.

“How about we try something new?” Sehun said, wiggling his eyebrows playfully.

Junmyeon tilted his head, his curiosity piqued.

“Remember that residential lot you’ve been eyeing? One of my loyal clients just bought it and wants our firm to design his dream house. How about you come with me? He’s looking for paintings, and I told him my boyfriend’s a curator. He’d love to meet you!”

“Okay, but I’m a bit sad since that was my dream land,” Junmyeon replied, his mood shifting. “Still, maybe I’ll find another spot for my dream house one day.” He looked at Sehun, a hint of hope in his eyes. “When do you plan to go?”

“Next week. I just need to sort out some papers first.” Sehun smiled, then added, “But for now, let me work some wonders on you.”

Junmyeon squealed as Sehun scooped him up and carried him to their bedroom.

Sehun was thankful that the weather was bearable. He knows Junmyeon will get all cranky if it’s too hot.

“What time do you think your client will get here?” Junmyeon asked as he climbed out of his car.

“He said he’s on his way. Hey, why don’t you help me brainstorm ideas for the house while we wait? It’ll be fun! Plus, I want to hear your thoughts on this land,” Sehun suggested, wrapping an arm around Junmyeon’s waist and leading him toward the plot.

“Sehun, I’m a curator, not an architect or designer. You’re just going to laugh at me,” Junmyeon replied, playfully stomping his foot.

“Not at all! I genuinely want to hear your ideas!” Sehun replied, tucking a stray hair behind Junmyeon’s ear.

“Alright, here’s the thing,” Junmyeon started, a serious look on his face. “I just want a sturdy house. I grew up in a place where it rained indoors, and I don’t want to hold my breath every time the clouds open up, praying I won’t get swept away!”

Sehun chuckled, nodding. “Totally get that! And I want a house that’s bright—but not blinding. You know, like a cozy dimness? My old place was so dark we could have held a shadow convention. We had one light bulb for the whole house, and half the time, we were living in blackout conditions!”

Junmyeon laughed, rolling his eyes. “Yeah, I know it sounds shallow. Go ahead, judge me!”

“I’m not judging! Just continue with what you’re saying please?” Sehun said

“I also want a spacious house. It was just my mom and me, but it still felt cramped. I want space to breathe. Sehun, I want this land because it’s peaceful. I don’t have a specific house design in mind—just something strong, away from bad vibes, where I can sleep soundly after a long day’s work,” Junmyeon said, his tone serious again.

What Junmyeon didn’t know was that Sehun had been gazing at him with love in his eyes the entire time.

“Want to know what kind of house I dream of?” Sehun asked, his voice softening.

“Definitely!” Junmyeon replied, intrigued.

“I want a house that’s sturdy, bright, and spacious. But more than anything, I want a house where I can see Junmyeon in every corner. I want to smell your shampoo on our pillows, see your stuff in the living room, and catch you making breakfast in the morning. I want to find you sneaking ice cream late at night because you’re stressed from work, and we dance in the glow of just the fridge light!” Sehun continued, noticing Junmyeon’s eyes starting to shimmer.

“I want to wake up to you every morning and fall asleep with you every night,” he added. “I want to share meals, wash dishes together, do laundry, and even shower—though I promise to respect your personal space there!” Sehun added.

Junmyeon couldn’t help but laugh through his tears, playfully swatting at Sehun. “You’re impossible!”

“Junmyeon, I can give you the house you want. But honestly, it doesn’t matter what it looks like, as long as you’re with me. That’s all I need,” Sehun said, feeling the emotion welling up.

If anyone else were around, they’d probably wonder why two guys were crying in an empty lot. Sehun knelt down, pulled out a ring he had been hiding, and took a deep breath.

“I don’t want anything more in life than to be with you,” Sehun started, his voice trembling. “From the moment I saw you, I knew you were the one. I didn’t even know your name back then; I just knew I wanted to be the reason for your laughter when you were sipping your java chip with Jongdae.”

He wiped away his tears before asking the question he’d been longing to say. “Junmyeon, will you let me be by your side through all the happy moments and support you when things get tough? You said your life is bland. Can I join your bland life?”

Junmyeon was so overwhelmed with emotion that he could hardly speak. He knelt down and hugged Sehun tightly, nodding fervently. They looked like two love-struck goofballs, tears streaming down their faces.

After a moment, Junmyeon pulled back, a playful smile forming. “Sehun, put on that ring already so I can post this on social media!” he said with a laugh. “I had a feeling this was coming. I thought you might propose after the exhibit, so I was a bit bummed when you didn’t!”

Sehun grinned, slipping the ring onto Junmyeon’s finger, knowing this was just the beginning of their beautiful adventure together.

Now, Sehun stood at the altar, waiting for his wonderful groom, with his best friend Chanyeol standing behind him. He felt a mix of emotions, but one thing was clear: his love for Junmyeon was overflowing, and he couldn’t wait to share it.

“Sehun, my love,

Never—like, not even in my wildest dreams—did I imagine I’d be standing here today. Growing up, my only ambition was to finish school and help my mother escape hardship. I thought love was just a distraction, a painful pit that would knock you down and leave you stuck.

But then you burst into my life like a whirlwind, defying all odds just to be near me. After I rejected you more times than I can count, I finally gave in—and honestly, that’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. You’ve shown me that love can be beautiful, and not just through words but through every moment we share. Even in the tough times, having you by my side makes everything feel lighter.

Thank you for your endless patience with me. I know I can be quite the handful—like a cat trying to swim! But you’ve reminded me that I deserve love and a little pampering too. I was so focused on fixing my own flaws that I didn’t realize you were piecing me back together without breaking a sweat, and I’m not proud of that. But because of you and your undying love and perseverance, I’ve learned to embrace parts of myself I once wanted to forget.

I hope your patience never runs out as I keep working on my flaws, but I promise to always give my best to make this marriage work. I love you more than words can say—and yes, even more than I love my favorite ice cream!” Junmyeon spoke his vows, tears in his eyes, as he slid the ring onto Sehun’s finger.

"Junmyeon, my love, my everything, I can still picture your face the day I decided to make my move at that café. I blurted out to Chanyeol, 'I want to get married,' and he just pushed me playfully. It hurt, my love!" Sehun pointed to his head, pouting, making the guests laugh. He even heard Chanyeol shout, "IDIOT"

"My love," he said, gently holding Junmyeon's hands, "I know this might sound a bit silly, but when I first saw you, my heart was racing like it was training for the Olympics. I'm not usually the sentimental type, but you made my heart overflow with love—so much that I felt like I might burst if I didn’t share it with you." Tears welled in Sehun’s eyes as he remembered those early days of courting Junmyeon.

"So, when you gave me a chance, I promised myself I would do everything I could to make you happy. I wanted to be someone you’d want to keep around." He kissed Junmyeon's hands softly. "But the truth is, even before we were a couple, all I wanted was the opportunity to love you because someone as wonderful as you deserves that."

Sehun’s voice broke as he thought of all the struggles Junmyeon had faced. "When you took a chance on me, I vowed to replace all your painful memories with joy. That if ever you want to remember your past, all you can think about are the memories we shared together.." Junmyeon gently wiped Sehun’s tears.

"Sweetheart, my love for you is never-ending. The moment I laid eyes on you, I marked that day as the first of our forever." He was full-on sobbing now. "There’s so much more I want to say, but time might run out, so I’ll just show you how much I love you every single day." With that, he slipped the ring onto Junmyeon's finger, sealing their promise.

As the officiator declared their union as two husbands, they showed their love through a long heartwarming kiss.

It’s time for the best man to share their speeches so they started with Jongdae,

“Ladies and gentlemen, If I could have your attention for just a moment—because I promise to keep this short and sweet, just like Junmyeon’s patience when I steal his fries!” The guest laughed at his remarks.

“For those who don’t know me, I’m Jongdae, Junmyeon’s best friend since grade school. Yes, that means I have years of embarrassing stories to share, but today, I’ll spare you the details—mostly because Junmyeon threatened to revoke my lawyer privileges!” another wave of laugh can be heard at the reception

“I was there the day Sehun first laid eyes on Junmyeon at that coffee shop. I remember it vividly: Sehun looked at him like he had just discovered the last slice of pizza at a party—completely mesmerized! And honestly, who can blame him? Junmyeon has that effect on people.” Sehun gazed at Junmyeon with pure admiration, clearly agreeing with Jongdae.

“But in all seriousness, I’ve seen these two grow together, and Sehun, you’ve promised to fill Junmyeon’s life with joy and love. So please, remember his vow: “When you look back, all you should think about are the wonderful memories.” So, let’s keep the coffee spills and awkward moments to a minimum, okay?” The newlyweds can’t help but laugh at that statement.

“Junmyeon, I want to thank you for being the best friend a person could ask for. You’ve always been the calm to my chaos, and now I hope you can be that for Sehun as well. And Sehun, I trust you to take care of him—because, honestly, he’s a little fragile! If he ever gets too stressed, you always know the solution. Just bring him that mint ice cream that he wants. It’s scientifically proven to solve almost everything for Junmyeon” Jongdae saw how Junmyeon just rolled his eyes with a little smile.

“So here’s to love, laughter, and a lifetime of happy memories! Sehun, I know you’ll take care of my bestfriend like he’s the best person in the world—because he is, at least in my opinion.” He said, winking at them. “Cheers to the newlyweds!” He ended the speech by raising his glass and drinking his champagne after.

“Hello, mic test! Is this thing on?” taps the mic dramatically. “Great”

It’s now Chanyeol’s turn as Sehun’s Best Man.

“For those who don’t know me, I’m Chanyeol, Sehun’s best friend since high school and, more recently, Jongdae’s husband- the best friend of the other groom, Yes, one of the most beautiful people here in the venue” he started his speech.

“Going back to the day when Sehun said he wanted to marry Junmyeon the day he saw him at the coffee shop, I was totally in disbelief! I mean, this is the same guy who once thought ‘commitment’ was just a fancy word for finishing a video game! But then I saw Junmyeon, and I got it. That smile is infectious! He had the third most beautiful smile. Next to Jongdae and my mom. That’s how I rank those smiles- so you know it’s serious!” a round of laughter can be heard in the crowd.

“Sehun, my friend, remember this: a happy Junmyeon means a happy Jongdae, which ultimately leads to happiness for the both of us.. So just agree to whatever he says—especially when he asks if he can pick the movie! Trust me, it’ll save you hours of debate.” Jongdae just rolls his eyes at his husband’s antics but he laughs together with the other guest.

“On a serious note, I’m really happy to witness my best friend settle down. Sehun, you’re about to experience all the joy and challenges of marriage. Just a heads-up: Junmyeon and Jongdae share a lot of the same traits. So buckle up, buddy; it’s going to be a fun ride! Believe me. You know that I’ve been on this rollercoaster for a year now!”” Chanyeol added that it makes the newlyweds laugh their hearts out.

“With that said, here’s to love, laughter, and a lifetime of sharing everything—even the remote control! Cheers to the newlyweds!” another laughter can be heard and he saw the newly weds kiss. He just ended it just like his husband, raising his glass and taking a triumphant sip of champagne.

As the laughter and joy filled the air, Sehun and Junmyeon stood hand in hand, surrounded by their friends and family, each heart brimming with love. The vows they had exchanged echoed in their minds, a beautiful reminder of the journey they were embarking on together.

With the celebrations in full swing, Sehun pulled Junmyeon close, whispering sweet nothings as they shared stolen glances and gentle smiles. It felt surreal to finally be here, to have found a love that filled the gaps in both their lives, making them whole.

As the night wore on, Jongdae and Chanyeol danced together, showcasing their own brand of playful love, while the guests revealed stories and laughter, creating new memories. The warmth of the moment wrapped around everyone like a cozy blanket, a perfect blend of nostalgia and hope for the future.

Under the twinkling fairy lights, Sehun and Junmyeon took a moment to step away from the crowd, soaking in the magic of the night. “Can you believe we’re actually married?” Sehun asked, a grin spreading across his face.

Junmyeon chuckled, his eyes sparkling. “I can’t, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Here’s to our forever, filled with love, laughter, and maybe a few late-night ice cream runs.”

They shared a soft kiss, sealing their promises not just to each other, but to a life filled with joy, support, and endless adventure. As the music played on, they rejoined their friends, ready to dance the night away, hand in hand, heart in heart.

And so, under the stars, surrounded by love, their story continued—a beautiful journey just beginning, with a lifetime of happiness ahead.

Notes:

If you've made it to the end, congratulations on enduring my questionable writing skills! Honestly, this is just a burst of thoughts. I was listening to my Spotify wedding playlist (which, let’s be real, I’ll probably never use EVER!) and got inspired to apply it to my favorite couple. I love everything domestic and fluff.

Comments and reactions are HIGHLY appreciated. *winks*
