Chapter Text
He was late, again. Dark Cacao Cookie was starting to think he was doing it on purpose. There had been too many times in a row that he had been late for their secret meetings. Meetings that, in turn, were too short. Burning Spice Cookie knew it, and despite that he continued to waste the little time they had. The distance between the red desert and his icy kingdom was no excuse, since he possessed teleportation magic. The snow fell, and the night continued with its lonely presence.
Then a red flash appeared in the sky, and something landed hard very close to him, scattering snow around. Of course he wasn't just late, he was also making a fuss about it. Dark Cacao Cookie growled in disapproval. And then Burning Spice Cookie started laughing. The spice really wanted to make him angry.
-Ha ha ha ha! Good evening, Dark Cacao Cookie- That haughty smile, his big eyes ridiculously bright like fireflies made of fire. That was it. Now he was angry.
-Where have you been?! You are long past the hour. And what's with your entrance? - Criticizing as soon as the other arrived was not a habit. But all lines had been crossed today.
-Worried for me, bitter king?- The smug way in which he said it made him even angrier. But he couldn't deny it since it was true -I was doing something, and I got caught up with time. I wasn't seeing anyone else- And then, a stupid and cute wink.
That wasn't the point, but he forced himself to bury the anger. He didn't want to waste another moment, so he let out a big sigh and tried to calm down. Burning Spice Cookie was staring at him, waiting for him. Dark Cacao Cookie finally looked him in the eyes and advanced towards him. The Beast Cookie suddenly grabbed his hands, pulling him towards him with a satisfied smile.
-Good choice. Now hold onto me, tight-
He didn't even have time to protest. He put the bitter king's hands around his neck, making him turn around so as not to see Burning Spice Cookie's face so close. He made his axe appear and smashed it against the snowy ground. Under his feet a magic circle with a strong spice smell appeared, which began to shine a red light. One moment they were on the frozen plane, a little far from the Dark Cacao Kingdom, but now they were in the middle of the red desert.
Dark Cacao Cookie took a few seconds to process what had happened. It was very hot. Much more than in the Parmessan Dessert, one would dare say. He looked at Beast Cookie, stunned and slightly lost. But when the initial confusion passed he quickly separated from the other. And the anger he was trying to suppress resurfaced in a wave of emotion.
-You! Burning Spice Cookie! How dare you take me so far away from my kingdom without any consent?! - His hand went towards his sword on impulse, wanting to draw it and teach him a lesson. He felt betrayed by the other's audacity. But he wanted to think that there was an explanation, no matter how absurd it was.
-This was the only way to drag you out of your cold and boring land. If I had asked, you would have denied me as before- I was right about that. He had often told her that he would prefer to change the place where they met from time to time. He said it was very boring. But Dark Cacao Cookie would never stray far from his kingdom.
Now he understood why he did it. But that didn't mean he agreed with this. It was too hot for his liking.
-Why here, on your lands? So far from everything I know? Any other place would have been fine- He wasn't accusing him of anything. If Burning Spice Cookie wanted to get rid of him he would have done so as soon as he saw him. But he wanted to believe that they were past that point.
-Not any other place. Not for today. I will show you why- He offered his hand for Dark Cacao Cookie to take. But he only closed his eyes suspiciously, which made the Beast Cookie laugh, and irritated the bitter king in this cycle of provocations.
Burning Spice Cookie's hand returned to its place next to his body, he turned and began to walk towards some rocks that could be seen in the distance. The walk was long, and it was so hot. But Dark Cacao Cookie followed his companion closely, at a firm and determined pace. His annoyance was minuscule compared to his curiosity to know what Burning Spice Cookie was up to. He could be a pain in the ass many times, but this was the first instance where he had crossed the line by being disrespectful and annoying the bitter king to such an extent. It almost seemed on purpose. The sun made his armor too hot, which made the journey a little more difficult. So he focused on looking at the other's exposed back. Their muscles were twitching as they walked, giving a small sign of how strong Beast Cookie was. A giggle reached his ears through the wind.
Finally they arrived at the rock formation. They were huge, arranged in what appeared to be a circle. Much larger than the walls of his kingdom. But they were not completely joined, there was a gap between them through which it was very easy to pass. They walked along one of them towards the center of the formation. Upon reaching the other side, surprise once again reached Dark Cacao Cookie's face. The ground was no longer sand, but solid rock with worn paint. Seats, railings, and stairs were carved into the stones. This was not a natural rock formation, it was sand sculpted into stones.
While the Bitter King looked around, impressed by how old everything looked despite the good condition it was in, Burning Spice Cookie had left his side for a few moments and returned with four covered baskets. Two in his hands and the others balanced on his shoulders.
-I see you are enjoying the view- He left the baskets on the ground, near the cleft in the rock, and opened one of them. It had some fruits and water in canteens. He took one of the latter and gave it to Dark Cacao Cookie.
-It's not enjoyment- He took the canteen, drank some water and poured the rest on his face and down his neck, cooling himself off a little. -I am... Confused and intrigued. Why did you bring me to this place, Burning Spice Cookie?
It was all very strange coming from him, known as The Great Destroyer. With the spice storms this place had, the seats and decorations on the rock looked too clean. Food and water also prepared from the beginning. Burning Spice Cookie had never done this with him before. It was Dark Cacao Cookie who planned their secret meetings, who decided where to go, who arranged those little moments that could only be called dates. In his mind he was already forming ideas that were surely wrong, but how he wished they were true.
The feeling increased even more when the Beast Cookie stood behind Dark Cacao Cookie, placed his hands on his shoulders and began to kiss his neck, making a delicious shiver run down his spine. He knew perfectly well that Dark Cacao Cookie loved kisses. The bitter king's face was beginning to color and relax.
-Do you remember how we met?- Burning Spice Cookie whispered into his neck. -The moment you showed up to stop me from hurting your dear bird friend and you were late. The rage in your eyes made shrivers run down my spine- His hands caressed his back over his armor. From his shoulders to his waist, pressing firmly. -The way you fought me without any qualms, unrestrained, actively aiming for my weaker points. You had me in the palm of your hand- A lick on his cheek, followed by a kiss. Dark Cacao Cookie's hands tangled in the other's long, wild hair, pulling him towards him. He turned his head slightly so he could look at the beast behind him. Burning Spice Cookie was blushing a little too, with a faint smile of desire. -Too bad we were interrupted, right?-
Dark Cacao Cookie couldn't care less about their first fight. With his hands he pushed Burning Spice Cookie's head towards his, finally connecting their lips. Better than drinking fresh water in the middle of a hot desert. He turned to face his lover and hugged him while tasting those spicy lips. The other simply hugged him around his lower back, giving him all control of the kiss. Another unusual thing, as it was always a constant battle for control in their kisses. But not now. Dark Cacao Cookie moved his lips slightly, his tongue sometimes caressing a bit of the other's mouth. The heat had grown too high when they separated, both breathing slowly and with their eyes half-lidded. As he was moving to kiss him again and his hands traveled to the other's chest, Burning Spice Cookie interrupted him. His eyes now alight.
-Dark Cacao... I want to finish that fight- His eyes opened wide, stopping all movement. -Not only that, I want to properly fight you. No interruptions, no witnesses. Only you and me- The heat between them was becoming unbearable, in the worst of ways. -Your land is full of snow and ice. It's not ideal to have a full, large battle. This place is perfect, built for combats. You won't need to restrain yourself...-
He abruptly separated from the other and advanced towards the center of the arena. His fists were clenched tightly, making his armor creak. He wanted distance before acting on impulse, although Burning Spice Cookie would surely like that. The initiative, the effort the spice put into planning this, all the little details; It was because he wanted to fight him. He must have assumed so, since the only interest he had shown during the entire time they were secretly together was in causing destruction and fighting against strong opponents. Even when Dark Cacao Cookie once asked him what it was about him that made Burning Spice Cookie keep coming to these meetings.
"I like strong opponents that can bring me on my knees"
That's what he said at the time. And even though he thought that over time he would learn more about the other, it was always the same: destruction, chaos, wars. And despite everything Dark Cacao Cookie disliked about him, he couldn't help but fall in love. Because he had seen different things on certain small occasions. A bit of nervousness and shyness, a cheerful personality most of the time, honor and a strange sense of morality in combat; expressions and smiles dedicated to him that seem to scream that the feelings are reciprocated.
But it was hard to believe that when Burning Spice Cookie acted like this. Once again he had disappointed Dark Cacao Cookie. But this time he didn't hold back his anger. He stopped walking almost reaching the middle of the arena, took out his Chocoblade while turning and got into an attack position.
-Very well! If a fight is what you want, a fight you will get! - In his purple eyes a pair of sharp, black pupils began to appear.
