Work Text:
When Tim decided to participate in a televised "Bet or Win" Contest in Metropolis of all places, he thought it'd be a great PR stunt at most.
The rules of the game are simple: Two candidates get their number drawn and meet on the platform. They then get 3 minutes to bargain, bribe, or con someone off the platform and have them give up or get disqualified. If neither does, then they have to race through a parkour lane. Either way, the winner goes to the next round.
Thanks to his known nepo baby status, he went through most things like a breeze. A car and a yearlong gym membership is nothing.
What he did not account for was Cassie walking up to him as his next opponent. "Hey there pretty boy." Damnit.
"Hi Cassie." Tim uses his PR smile to try and hide his fondness. From her smug expression, it doesn't work.
Exasperated, he asks, "I don't think you'd be willing to give up if I bribe you?"
"Nope!" She pops the word and walks closer. "Sadly, I want that free ice cream coupon."
"I could buy it for you?" He bargains, but he knows she won't take it.
As expected, she shakes her head. "No can do. I came here to win today."
Stepping into his privacy, Cassie puts her hands on her hips. She leans forward until their noses almost touch.
"I have a bargain," She mutters. Her eyes flicker down to his lips. "A little something in exchange for your loss."
Tim swallows. He may be able to fight among Earth's strongest, but he has long since learned that giving up doesn't always mean losing.
"That's a hard bargain you drive," he tries to cheek.
Cassie smirks. "Do you yield?"
His eyes flicker down, before he breathes, "Yes."
Her hands come up and cup his face to close the gap between them. Smooth lips press against his, warm and sweet, before they distance themselves again. In front of him, Cassie stands like a dream. Brilliant eyes looking at him, and refusing to distance themselves while her breath mingles with his.
Those balmed lips open and say, "That was one for the win. Two is for a friend." Before he can make sense of the words, her lips are on his again. A moment later she's pulling away again.
All he can see is Cassie licking her lips. Tim can barely make sense through the fog before her mouth is already back with, "Three's for someone special."
This time she barely leaves, as her thumb caresses circles over his cheek. She mutters, "Four for you being precious." The kiss barely ghosts over him.
Rather than leaving, Cassie just disconnects their lips. She's right against him, nose brushing as her hands hold him together. He couldn't look away if he tried. Cassie confesses, "Five is because I love you."
And Tim can't do anything but reciprocate her slow dance. Keeping his eyes closed, he hears, "Six is because I want to." And nothing could rival the warmth in his chest.
"Seven," she tells him, a sweet peck following, "That's just because."
Slowly, Tim lets his eyes flutter open. Nothing could stop him from melting to the way Cassie is looking at him. "So pretty."
Her eyes widen, then her mouth melts into a fond smile. "Right back at you pretty boy."
Behind them, the host announces Cassie's victory and Tim distantly notes that this will circle in the media for a while. He can't say he regrets it. Cassie asks, "Want to grab that ice cream after I win?"
No regret here. "I'd love to."
