Chapter Text
Ughh.. Already the morning? Of course I also have school. This sucks.
He mumbles within his mind.
Where is my student ID? I can’t go to school without this.
While looking for his student ID, he stumbles across a Light Novel he just finished recently.
“Roshidere, eh? This one was pretty nice. Kinda feels like the author is dragging it a bit too long though. Still looking forward to more.”
He says out loud, with no issues. He doesn’t fear being heard as he is living by himself. However, while looking for his ID, he looks at the clock and realizes that he will be late if he does not hurry up.
Oh shit.. If I don’t find it right now I’ll be even more screwed than I already am.. Where did I leave it..? Where did I leave it..?
While skimming through his memories to perhaps remember and find his ID, he slowly walks towards the kitchen and almost falls, stubbing his toe.
“AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.”
He screams, the agony can be felt through his scream.
Oh, right.. No time for breakfast. Guess I’ll just grab a banana.
He quickly finishes the banana, however he quickly realizes that his trash can is gone.
What? Where is my trash can? Whatever, no time to worry now. I’ll just throw the peel out of my window.
He would soon learn that this was his greatest mistake.. Or was it his greatest fortune..?
Okay, okay. Now just my ID.. If my memory serves me correctly, it should be on my desk.
As he checks the desk, he realizes that it indeed is not there. He looks around carefully until eventually looking under his bed and finally finding it.
That should be mine. … “Akito Hayase” … Yes, that is mine. Now I can go to school, about time.
As he heads to school, he crosses the road and greets his friends.
“Jeez. Took you long enough”
"Yeah.. Sorry for that, I lost my ID back there.”
“It’s alright. Just don’t be this late next time, if possible?”
What his friend does not know is that there won’t be a ‘next time’.
“We have different classes now, don’t we? I’ll head to my class right away, so, see you later!”
Akito casually proclaims and following this, waves at his friend. As he is going to class, he overhears some of his classmates mentioning Roshidere. He walks slowly and listens to the conversation.
“Hey!! Have you seen the newest volume? Man, Alya is so supportive, even now! She is definitely my favorite character.”
“Same!! She is awesome! And I agree.”
“In my opinion, Yuki still remains as the best character.”
“That’s acceptable.”
As he overhears these people, instead of thinking what his favorite character is, he instead thinks the opposite.
Everyone always talks about their favorite characters. But what about the ones they hate the most? Well for me, my largest portion of hatred for sure goes to Nonoa. I can’t stand her, especially with what she is doing now. Second place probably goes to Masha, but Nonoa is far above. Truly, if I could, I would kill her on the spot .
He says all of this within his mind, and the hatred was definitely real and pure. Pure hatred, all directed towards a fictional character. What dedication indeed. He sits down in class, and time passes by on the fly, sooner than he knows, he already is headed to his apartment. He doesn’t have that many friends in class and they all live in the opposite direction, thus he returns home all alone.
Ugh.. Why do they all have to live over there? Almost always I have to go home alone, this sucks. No girlfriend waiting for me either, no siblings, no parents.. Well, I guess at least I’ll make it home alive and eat something, so that’s nice, I suppose. Every day is just a repeat of the previous.
All this time he had been telling himself that. But this day.. This day is far different from any day that happened before. He does not know what is coming. As he finally reaches the building, he slips on a banana peel. Then, a burst of memories comes towards him.
“What? Where is my trash can? Whatever, no time to worry now. I’ll just throw the peel out of my window.” … I’m such an idiot.
While remembering this and the self insult, he does not see what is coming towards him. A car. A car at a speed that is sure to kill him.
WH-WHAT?! I’M GONNA DIE.
“SOMEBODY, HELP ME, PLEASE!!”
All he could do was send cries of help, but nobody was fast enough to save him.
Is this.. Death?
No. Not quite yet. As a fateful event occurs, the car finally manages to stop right before impact, leaving everyone uninjured. Akito had never been this glad before. A man with a black suit steps out of the car and asks:
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
"No. I’m sor-”
“Do not be sorry. Just move out of the way, we have business to attend.”
“Oh, uh, alright. But again, sorry!”
Akito moves out of the way and into his apartment, but before this, he catches a glimpse inside the car, in which he sees two more men with black suits, seemingly waiting for orders. He doesn’t mind it and proceeds into his apartment, laying down on his bed and relaxing.
“Okay then.”
“Boss says we will be late and that we should re-coordinate.”
“Huh? Okay. We’ll just clear the street and do it here instead.”
“Here? Have you lost your mind? Everyone will see us.”
“Do not worry, boss will cover us, I had already discussed a plan for a situation like this previously.”
“Okay then. Set it up and I’ll get the gun right away.”
What Akito had not realized is that these men are actually hired assassins with one primary target. A celebrity inside a helicopter, currently following a path and about to hover over his apartment.
“I’m ready. I’ll shoot when I get the chance.”
However, due to a fatal miscalculation on the behalf of the assassins, the bullet instead hits the pilot, causing a giant ruckus.
“WHAT DID YOU DO?! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO SHOOT THE PERSON BESIDE HIM, NOT HIM.”
“I..”
“Fuck.. Just, hurry up. We need to get out, NOW! The kill is guaranteed now regardless.”
As the worst possible scenario comes true, the helicopter crashes directly onto Akito’s apartment, exploding instantly. What was left of Akito was nothing but a few remains, memories and apartment walls. Moments before impact, Akito had realized what was happening.
“You’ve got to be fucking with m-”
Boom. The helicopter explodes, and Akito Hayase is officially proclaimed dead, the exact same day. Akito finds his consciousness in a void and all he hears is a sentence..
“You have a second chance now. A third chance as well, but only within the first 24 hours. The third chance will reset the clock by one hour.”
Akito wakes up due to his alarm and screams.
“JUST WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?! Wait.. Did I not die? And what was that? What an odd dream..”
He says this before looking at his phone and then looking outside.
November 12th? What? How? It was November 15th just a few hours ago? Was I in a coma for an entire year?
As he looks outside he realizes;
“Wait.. Just.. Where am I? I don’t recognise this place at all! Wait..”
Akito is absolutely flabbergasted.
Is that.. the Seirei Private Academy? Why am I even here? Did my parents transfer me to another school while I was unconscious?
While he is a bit confused and far from the truth, he does have one part correctly. He did transfer to another school. He looks outside the video and is absolutely shocked, his heart skips a beat as he recognises something.
Woah.. That girl.. She looks exactly like Alya from Roshidere. Just what is going on? And that guy looks exactly like Masachika too.
However, Akito is not that dense and he did read other types of mangas, such as reincarnation stories, as he finally comes to the conclusion.
Wait.. could it be? Did I seriously.. There is no way…
