"What do you mean you only have a room with one bed?!" Tsukasa slammed his hands onto the poor innkeeper's desk, trying (and failing horribly) to will away his bright blush. He was paired up with the court sorcerer, Rui Kamishiro, to patrol the borders of the kingdom for any suspicious activity. The war times were especially tense even though their faction chose to remain neutral, and the two of them were returning from said patrol- though they needed a place to stay for the night.
Which led to their current dilemma- Tsukasa certainly wouldn't be able to survive a night of sleeping in the same bed as the handsome sorcerer- honestly, he thought these things only happened in those cheesy romance novels Mizuki would always show him...
Begrudgingly, he makes his way to the room prepared for some awkward conversations, but he'd honestly rather die than have to face his feelings.
"This is pretty inconvenient, huh..?" He looks around the hotel room which was surprisingly spacious with a lot of amenities, though the bed was honestly quite small. They would have to lie embarrassingly close just to fit on it, and the simple thought makes his face flush a deep red. "I'll take the couch-"
"Nonsense, Tsukasa-kun." The knight whipped his head to look back at the sorcerer, who, though surprisingly quiet the entire time, now had a sly smile on his face that could only mean trouble. "Have you forgotten what feats I am capable of~? Just stand back while I work my magic."
Wait, what?
"Rui, what are you-"
Within a second, Rui prepared some sort of magic spell, aiming it at the tiny hotel bed. In the blink of an eye, it had been duplicated! Rui wasn't the court sorcerer for noting, he supposed. But then, another extra bed had appeared. And yet another one. Before long, the room was filled with beds.
"Rui. Why are there so many beds." Tsukasa stared at the sorcerer who simply gave a sheepish smile back.
"Hehe, it wasn't supposed to do that... Sorry, Tsukasa-kun~" Rui chuckled, sounding more amused than sorry, before flopping down on one of the many beds. "But look on the bright side! There's no lack of space to sleep anymore!"
"But how on earth am I supposed to walk around like this?!" Tsukasa complained, trying to navigate his way through the mass of beds before ultimately accepting his fate and walking on top of the many beds filling their room.
It's quiet for a while as Tsukasa attempts to find a comfortable sleeping place. That is until he feels a pillow thrown at him.
"RUI-" The perpetrator was lying on his bed sideways, almost as if challenging Tsukasa.
"You can't prove that I was the one who threw it."
"You're literally the only other person in the room."
"So? What are you going to do about it?" Rui taunted, picking up yet another pillow. Tsukasa did the same, previous tiredness replaced with competitive energy.
"Oh, you'll find out."
That's how those two grown men pillow fought throughout the night and eventually ended up tiring themself out and sleeping until noon. Though, if the innkeeper found them curled up together in a room filled with beds, they certainly didn't say anything.
