Chapter Text
The moment he step foot out of the bus, he is greeted by an older woman. Despite not wearing any expression, it’s clear in her eyes that she would love to be anywhere but here. The moment their eyes meeting, she frown and turn around, mumbling “Follow me”. The poor young man almost stumble trying to follow her.
- H-hey, I’m Henry… And you are?
- Can’t you just be quiet, she ask almost frustrated.
- W-what?
- Just shut up.
And with that, he stop the small talk. He just couldn’t understand why she was that mean to someone she just met. Walking seems so long with this awkward silence. The moment he lay his eyes onto the farms grounds, it felt more like hell than his dream life. That’s when his eyes land onto an old man sitting on the porch of the little cottage. The old man look even more annoyed than the woman as he stand up.
- This is yours, he said.
- Thanks, answers Henry. I’m Henry by the way.
- I’m the mayor, Lewis, says the mayor as he put a hand on the boy’s shoulder. You better stay on your best behavior or else.
- Or else what, ask the young man slightly confuse.
Lewis didn’t say any more than that, he gesture the woman to follow him and that’s exactly what she does, striking a conversation along the way. Now it really felt like these two hated him for a reason or another. Well certainly the rest or town aren’t like that, maybe there’s hope to make friends. Alas it is late, and the bus was very long and tiring, and a good night sleep is all he need right now.

Henry open the door and step in, he can see the shelves full of product, and so many customer. With a big breath, he approche them with a shy “Hi, I’m Henry”, some scoff at him or ignore him and maybe that’s because he’s a stranger. It feel likes everyone is watching him and his every move. He move to the cashier and buy whatever he grab. So no, his adventure into town wasn’t the best, but maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
