Work Text:
His shoulder hit the cobblestone with a loud thud. The world was still spinning around him, and his stomach was twisted in all kinds of unnatural ways.
It took him what felt like ages to begin to understand his surroundings, his vision still hazed as he managed to sit up against a wall. It was dark out, he could tell that much, but something about the air smelt…familiar. It gave him an achy feeling of nostalgia, one that reminded him of-
His eyes widened as he adjusted to the light, beginning to take in his surroundings. Dim street lights, shuttered windows and narrow, bending alleyways littered with flower boxes.
No, this had to be a mistake. Every possibility, every universe he’s traveled, there’s no way-
Piltover.
Piltover before hextech, to be specific. Before the hexgates, before the war, before Viktor got sick.
Viktor. His heart began to race out of his chest. Every other universe he’d landed in so far had been the product of their invention, ruins of what once was, an apocalyptic landscape. The Viktor he knew was far gone, leaving him to chase a phantom, always seeming to do the right thing far too late.
But here. Viktor could still be here. Tucked away in their lab or his apartment, chipping at equations, not aware of what they mean for the future. His Viktor, with his jokes and eye bags and caffeine addiction, who still has hopes that their invention could better the world.
His body was moving before he had time to think about the implications of what he was doing.
The wound on his arm was still bleeding, and he was sure there were others he’d yet to discover from the time warp, but that was the last thing on his mind. Three years been stuck in these parallel universes, and this was the first one that gave him a feeling that rivaled hope. Despite being away for so long, he remembered these streets like the back of his hand, navigating without the use of daylight.
He wondered if it would be the same as his universe. He knew there was always a chance that this was nothing like his home. For all he knew Viktor didn’t even exist in this timeline, a void where his presence normally shone. He had to know for sure though, pushing down the thought of other possibilities.
He was getting close now, and the reality of it all was beginning to set in.
He knew this was a bad idea. There was the potential to majorly mess up this timeline, as well as his own. He knew that. Every rational thought and instinct was telling him to turn around, to simply move on and try and forget about it. But Jayce was never able to listen to that rational voice in his head, and so he continued through the dark streets of Piltover.
It felt like ages until he showed up at that red door. He had been to Viktor’s apartment only a handful of times, but he still knew how to get there blindfolded. Now that he was here, the anxiety and pain was fully setting in. He knew that this was selfish, that it was a terrible idea, but he just-he had to see him, to know that he’s real and here and not just some far away concept.
He stood there unmoving for a long time. Finally, he forced himself to knock on the door, a sharp pain hitting both his head and arm. He clutched his temple and grit his teeth, trying to keep his vision from spinning again. He waited like that, trying to subdue the pain while suddenly fearing that Viktor might not be here to begin with.
It was a stupid thought. The chances of this being his previous reality were so slim that he might as well hope for an angel to appear in the sky and transport him to his original timeline. After more time passed with no answer, he sighed, the disappointment aching more than his wounds. Of course he’s not here, a voice in his head said. And it’s better that he’s not, you’ll only fuck with his safety even-
The door opened.
At first, Jayce thought he was seeing things. He was young, with a wild look of concern gleaming in his eyes, and he was so, painfully gorgeous. His brown hair was short but messy, with a pen tucked behind his ear and a smudge of ink painting his cheek. It looked like he had just been working, despite it being the middle of the night. It made his heart ache in a way that he didn’t even think was possible.
He reached out for Jayce, eyes drifting to the blood covering his clothes. “Gods, what happened to you?” Jayce didn’t even have an answer, still overwhelmed by the sight of him. His warm hands ghosted over his injuries, and god, wasn’t that something? His hands were warm and alive, so contradictory to what was in store.
He realized then that Viktor didn’t recognize him, probably for the better. He had no idea how he would explain the time warp he’s been put through.
As he was trying to come up with anything to say, another sharp pain hit his head, and he all but doubled over.
Viktor gently grabbed onto his arm. “Come inside, you’re in no shape to be out at a time like this.” That voice was lecturing him again. He knew he shouldn’t be doing this, but he couldn’t even stop himself if he wanted to. A selfish part of him knew that he never would anyway.
Viktor’s apartment was just as he remembered. Journals and sketchbooks littered every surface, and dozens of bookshelves lined the walls. There was a big chalkboard in the main space, and it looked like he had just been in the middle of writing an equation. It was surreal, how familiar and yet alien it felt. Like a snow globe that he could watch but knew he shouldn’t enter.
“Sit down. I have some pain medication in my bedroom,” he guided Jayce to sit in the living room as he spoke, “certainly looks like you could use it.” There was a slight dry humor to his tone that, if you didn’t know Viktor, you would never even pick up on. But he knew Viktor, and now even little moments like that were feeling so long gone.
Viktor left to go retrieve the medicine, leaving Jayce in what felt like shell shock. What was he even supposed to say to him? He certainly couldn’t tell him the truth, he didn’t even want to think about what kinds of consequences that might have. Everything about this felt unreal, like some dreamlike state that he would wake from eventually.
“-not the strongest, but hopefully will help dull the pain if nothing else.” He was talking as he came from the other room, also holding a glass of water. “You look in pretty bad shape, so I am not sure the extent that I can actually help you, but-“ he cut himself off, concern growing on his face once again. Jayce didn’t know when he had started crying, but it must’ve happened after Viktor left the room. Just, being able to look at him like this, to watch him move and hear him speak, it was overwhelming.
He realized how crazy he must look, so he clenched his fists, trying to get a grip. “Sorry, it’s just-it’s been a long night.” More like a long few years, but it was all the same right now.
Viktor studied him again, before gently placing the medicine in his palms. “I understand.” He didn’t. “The bathroom is down the hall, you can shower if you’d like, then I can properly look at your wounds.” His tone was gentle, and Jayce could barely form a verbal reply before doing as he said. “Luckily I sleep in oversized clothes, so I’ll probably have something that will fit you.”
He shut the door to the bathroom behind him, finally letting his muscles go weak.
Trying to distract his racing thoughts, he got in the shower, hissing at the sting the warm water left on his open wounds. It was too overwhelming, all of it. Silent tears streamed down his face as the water ran red.
—
He was in the shower longer than actually needed, taking care to ensure he didn’t break down the next time he saw Viktor. Now he could clearly see the wounds covering his skin. Nothing detrimental, but he would be lying if he said they didn’t hurt like a bitch.
Thankfully the boxers and shirt Viktor lent him fit almost perfectly. It all felt so surreal, one moment he was surviving in an apocalyptic future, the next he was wearing his old lab parters clothes in his quaint apartment, disturbingly undisturbed. After gathering himself, he stepped back out again.
Viktor had brought alcohol and gauze to the living room table, starting to unwrap a role. “Sit.” He nodded at the chair in front of him, and Jayce wouldn’t even think of disobeying.
Viktor’s slight fingers traced the skin around his upper arm. It was a nasty gash, but the blood had already began to stop. “So, if you don’t mind me asking,” Viktor started, opening the alcohol, “why exactly are you walking around the upper city in such a state?” He began holding a rag to the wound, causing Jayce to wince.
He hated lying to Viktor more than anything, but he just couldn’t bring himself to give him the real reason. “Not really sure. Woke up disoriented, like this. Didn’t know where to go, your door was the first I saw.” It was a weak lie, but it was the closest to the truth that he’d get.
Whether he actually believed him or not, the matter was not pressed any further. “That’s quite reassuring,” Viktor considered this for a moment, getting ready to wrap the wound. “A man who doesn’t know where he is with unexplained wounds shows up at my door at,” he glances at the clock, “2:24AM. They’re probably going to find my body back in Zaun.” Despite the fact that he should be genuinely worried about such a scenario, the words were said with an air of amusement and no real bite. He seemed to just trust that Jayce was not a threat to him, maybe even subconsciously.
He circled Jayce’s bicep in white gauze, clearly trying to be careful. “I don’t mean to question, but why are you being so…” Jayce trailed off, the weight of this moment starting to hit him again. “Kind?” He already half knew the answer, though. It was stubbornly in his nature. Kindness was just a part of Viktor’s genetic makeup, Jayce figured.
Viktor gave a small smile to that, tugging on the shirt he gave Jayce as a signal to take it off for him to look for any more injuries. He complied, lifting it over the back of his head with his opposite arm. “Not to sound rude, but you’re not in much position for me to turn you away.” He could feel Viktor’s eyes trailing over his body, not missing the way his eyes lingered at his abdomen. “Besides, you…remind me of someone I know.”
His expression softened as he said the words, tugging on Jayce’s emotions. In the warm, low light, he could make out the freckles and moles that littered Viktor’s skin, how they banded together like constellations. He wondered how many were just beyond where he could see, so many patterns that he never cared to learn when he had the chance. He was a fool.
Viktor moved to stand behind him, attending to a wound on the back of his shoulder. The way his hands rested on Jayce’s neck, lingering when they didn’t have to stirred something deep beneath his skin. He knew he had no right, but the messed up part of him still longed to have the other to himself, to show him just how much he means.
A wave of melancholy hit him just then. He should never have come here, disturbing Viktor’s quiet peace. It was selfish. “I’m…” the words felt heavy on his tongue. “I’m sorry for barging in like this, I should have just gone somewhere else.” Should have just turned away. He didn’t deserve to see Viktor like this, uncorrupted and still innocent.
Viktor seemed to dismiss this, wrapping bandages around Jayce’s left shoulder. “It’s not an imposition, really. I was only writing before you came in. Besides,” there was a hint of amusement in his voice, “this is far less mundane. It’s not everyday a handsome stranger knocks at your door looking as if they just left an active war field.”
If the dimension jumping didn’t kill him, this was bound to. He wondered in that moment, if Viktor ever had feelings for him, before everything collapsed. He was so blind that he would have never even noticed. He wishes that he wasn’t so caught up in his own goals to see what was right in front of him, more important than hextech, more than anything else.
Viktor finished, motioning him to stand up. He followed Viktor to the table, already feeling the difference in his injuries. He moved his arms and shoulder, testing the motion.
Viktor’s gaze followed his hand. “How does it feel?” His honey eyes gleamed in the low light. He was close enough for Jayce to reach out, and he could study all of his features better like this. It hurt, how intoxicating he is. His milky skin was yet to be sunken in, so beautiful and painfully, wonderfully alive. His dark hair fell in random strokes in his face, and Jayce wondered if it was as soft as it looked.
It took him a long time to realize he had never even answered Viktor’s question, practically eating him with his eyes. Viktor was now giving him a look he couldn’t quite discern, head tilting slightly to the side as he always does.
Jayce kept his words low, trying to keep the hunger out of his voice and failing. “…You are so beautiful.” He couldn’t stop the words escaping his mouth if he tried. It was the all encapsulated truth; he was divine.
Viktor’s breath hitched a little at that, eyes hooded as he continued to look at Jayce. He was close enough that he could hear his breathing through slightly parted lips.
Tentatively, he reached a hand out to Jayce, gaze following as he gently traced a line from his hand to his shoulder bandages using the ends of his knuckles. Jayce shuttered, subconsciously moving closer. When Viktor looked up at him again, eyes full of want, it took everything in him not to drop to his knees right there.
He knew he shouldn’t.
“Can I touch you?”
The words were a quiet plea, desperation seeping through them.
Very bad idea.
Viktor’s look was intense, akin to divine judgement. His gaze flickered down to Jayce’s lips, then back to his eyes.
“Yes.”
It came out as a breath, that word causing a rush to Jayce’s head. All chances of doing the right thing were completely gone.
His hand carefully pressed against Viktor’s jaw, causing the same subconscious head tilt from before. He traced his fingers, bringing them up to his cheekbone, running a thumb along his freckles. They’re more prominent now, layering his skin with auburn.
Viktor brought his hand up to Jayce’s, placing his over Jayce’s larger, rougher hand. He was standing closer now, only inches away.
Jayce brought his other hand up to the other side of his head, cradling his face. Viktor leaned into the touch, closing his eyes.
He shut the gap between them, Viktor leaning up to meet his mouth. His lips were soft, and the smell of vanilla and coffee consumed him as he deepened the kiss.
Jayce hadn’t understood how starving he was until that moment. He could eat Viktor alive, covering every inch of him in kisses and unspoken prayers.
He moved so that Viktor was leaning against the table as his hands travelled down, resting on his hip and the small of his back. Viktor brought his hands up to Jayce’s shoulders as he parted his lips to kiss him further.
After a moment of this Viktor pulled back, trying to catch his breath. His skin had a visible flush to it, spreading from his cheekbones to his lips. He took advantage of this time, kissing a trail down Viktor’s jaw. His grip tightened on Jayce’s shoulders as he kissed a tender spot on his neck.
The hum of pleasure Viktor let out when he put his teeth on the side of his throat shot waves of arousal through Jayce. Smiling against his skin, Jayce began to mark his neck with hickeys, making sure they were too high to be covered with a collar.
Viktor tangled his fingers through Jayce’s hair and chuckled. “Wait, wait,” his voice was breathless and perfect, “my lab partner will see those. May be unprofessional.”
That made him feel…all kinds of strange emotion. Is it possible to be jealous of your past self? Hindsight was hitting him like a bus, and if he knew what he knew now he never would have let such precious time go to waste. Jayce had been an idiot for such a long time, and a low feeling of anger was residing from it.
“Good.” He lightly bit a mark into his neck, Viktor’s hands tightening. “I hope he does. And I hope he knows what he’s missing out on.” His hands were still roaming over his ribs and waist, and he figured he could almost wrap both of his hands around him entirely. “You’re perfect, Cariño.”
The words seemed to affect Viktor’s whole demeanor, limbs turning almost to jelly. He closed his eyes and panted as Jayce kissed more trails up his neck, hands both wrapped around him. Eventually he rested his head against Jayce’s shoulder, mouth almost at his ear as he whispered.
“I want you inside of me.”
He could get off on just Viktor’s voice alone. He sounded needy, almost whining the words in Jayce’s ear. Everything he did was mesmerizing and sensual, and he could get drunk off his very essence.
“Where’s your room?”
Viktor lazily nodded to the side, still resting his forehead on Jayce. In pure impatience and anticipation, Jayce picked him up from underneath his legs, taking extra care not to disturb his brace. Viktor gave a small yelp, wrapping his arms around Jayce’s neck. He kissed the side of Viktor’s face as he carried him into the bedroom, shutting the door behind him as if they weren’t already alone.
It was dark, but he could still see the outline of Viktor’s features and how divine he looked. His pupils were blown out, and his brown hair was all tossled. Carefully, he placed him on the edge of the bed, leaning over him to kiss his again. Viktor seemed increasingly frustrated with his clothes, fiddling with the buttons of his shirt as he eagerly kissed Jayce.
He smiled against his mouth and put his hands over Viktor’s, taking over the task of undressing him. “Easy.” He took it slow, not wanting to miss a moment of this. Viktor was breathing heavy as he moved his mouth to his ear. “We have all the time in the world.”
If only that were true , he thought to himself.
After his waistcoat was gone, leaving his collarbones exposed with just an undershirt, Viktor placed a soft hand on his chest, seeming to hesitate for a moment. He seemed uncharacteristically nervous. “Wait,” his cheeks were still flushed from earlier, “there’s something I should tell you.”
Of course, Jayce already knew. He let Viktor explain anyway, putting mindless kisses to his wrist as he spoke. It didn’t matter to him, every possible version of Viktor was perfect.
“…so, if that’s not what you’re…looking for,” He paused a little, finally bringing his eyes back to Jayce’s. He didn’t seem insecure in himself, just oddly nervous. Jayce wanted to make him understand.
Eyes still locked to Viktor, Jayce gently pressed into the sides of his hipbones, then sunk down to his knees. He brought both hands to the top of his brace, tracing his thigh at the same time. “You’re what I’m looking for.” He began unclasping the straps, moving with muscle memory.
Viktor was looking at him with a dark expression, desire pooling behind his eyes. Jayce looped his hands on Viktor’s waistband, looking at him for permission. He put his hands over Jayce’s, starting to get antsy. He carefully finished undressing him as Viktor removed his shirt, skin adorned with scars and shapes like constellations.
Jayce kissed the inside of his thigh, hand grabbing his hip. He trailed more kisses down, moving slowly. He reveled in the impatience in Viktor’s demeanor, dragging out every motion just to watch him squirm.
Finally, he brought his mouth to Viktor, reveling in how his fingers pulled on Jayce’s hair.
He let out a sign of pleasure, letting his head hang. When Jayce hit a particularly sweet spot, Viktor moaned softly, tightening thighs against Jayce’s face. He wanted Viktor to suffocate him with his pretty thighs. In that moment, his only goal was to make him feel as much pleasure as possible.
He experimented with what Viktor seemed to like the most, who seemed to be slowly coming apart in front of him. His legs were starting to get shaky, and his grip on Jayce’s hair tightened whenever he was feeling particularly good. He let his mouth hang open slightly as the heat pooling in his abdomen grew.
“Ah,” he moaned, chewing on his lower lip. “Mnh, I’m gonna..” he trailed off as Jayce pressed his nose against his clit, loosing his train of thought.
Jayce did it again just to watch him unravel. He came shortly after, legs tightening again as he rode his high.
The sight of him was wonderful as Jayce pulled his face back, sucking hickeys into his thigh. He looked like an oil painting, pupils dark and lip red from the biting.
Viktor brought his hands to both sides of Jayce’s face, motioning to pull him back up. Jayce slowly stood, hovering over the other before Viktor pulled him into a needy kiss.
He traced a hand down Jayce’s abdomen, pulling at the waist of his boxers. He looked like a gorgeous mess. “Come closer.” They were already as close as possible, but he could never deny Viktor. He entangled himself in the other’s skin, burying his face into the crook of his neck as he gently laid them down on the bed.
Angelic was the word that came to his mind. His hair was spread out like a halo around him, pale thighs shiny with slick and covered in bruises. If he wasn’t convinced of an overarching god before, he certainly was now.
He tugged at Jayce’s waistband until they were completely off, pulling him closer. Jayce reluctantly paused for a moment. “Wait,” Viktor whined a little at that, amusingly. “Do you have protection?”
Viktor gave him a small grin. “Don’t worry. I have to say, you Piltie’s have gotten pretty handy with your pills.”
Jayce would have thought about the implications of that more, about how often Viktor must have men like this, if he wasn’t so distracted by his own arousal. Thankful for the lack of interruption, he used a hand to grab Viktor’s thigh, lining himself up to him.
Jayce kissed a line up the side of Viktor’s face, from his jaw, cheek and temple, following the freckles and moles on his skin. Viktor laced his fingers back in his hair, bringing his knees up to the sides of Jayce’s hips.
Slowly, he pushed in, losing all train of thought when Viktor gasped and tightened his grip. He let his head rest on Viktor’s shoulder, mouth agape. He was indescribable, and it took everything in Jayce not to come right then and there when he bottomed out inside of him.
Viktor seemed quite happy, eyes hazy as he hummed in pleasure. “I guess you are as big as you look.”
Jayce would be lying if he said those words didn’t go straight to his head. This, Viktor, it was dizzying and dreamlike.
When he put a gentle hand in his face, Viktor locked eyes with him. It was painful. His dazed expression turned more intense, eyebrows barely knitting together. He reached a hand out to Jayce’s wrist, cradling it.
“I feel like…I know you.” His words were calculated, spoken at barely a whisper. Those six words filled Jayce’s heart with led.
He ran a careful hand through Viktor’s hair, trying to avoid the tears threatening to spill. He tried to smile, but he knew it was laced with grief and regret.
“Te quiero, mi luna.” If only things could have been different. He kissed Viktor’a temple just then, moving his hips lightly to get Viktor’s attention on something else. “Tal vez en otra vida.”
Viktor laced his arms around Jayce’s neck, settling into the movement. It’s funny how blind you can become to your own demise, and the irony of discovering what you wanted all along too late. He would change everything, had he known the things he does now. Viktor’s soft skin pressed against his own, nails scratching his shoulders, careful to avoid the bandages. He was perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Jayce had the hunger of a wild animal who had been starved their entire life. He rocked his hips, leaving more dark hickeys along Viktor’s skin. He was other worldly, all blissed out with soft sounds of desire leaving his mouth. Jayce wished he could bottle the sound and store it forever.
They stayed like that for a long time, moving together as two half’s of the same soul. When Jayce pulled up Viktor’s left thigh to go deeper he moaned, fingers digging into Jayce’s skin. Jayce was studying him, making sure to remember what he looks like when he’s like this.
I would worship at your feet , he thought to himself as he came more undone. What have I done to deserve you all my life?
It was getting more difficult to focus, movements becoming less coordinated. He could tell Viktor was close, moans turning into a breathy string of mumbling, his thighs shaking as Jayce slowly fucked him.
“Harder.” Viktor said into his ear, and there was nothing Viktor could ask of him that he wouldn’t do. He tactfully hooked Viktor’s leg over his shoulder, kissing his knee as he did.
He knew he had it right when Viktor bit down on his lip to suppress a loud moan, nails scratching deeper. His only goal was to get Viktor off a second time, reveling in the way he looks when he’s undone. He continued at that pace, whispering sweet nothings in the other’s ear as he took him apart.
Viktor was getting breathless now. “You’re gonna make me cum again.” He was almost laughing, a small smile reaching his lips as he tilted his head back.
Jayce took this opportunity to assault him with more kisses, going from the side of his face to his neck. “ Eres divino. I wish I could make you feel like this all the time.” He was close now too, feeling drunk on the other’s essence.
It didn’t take much longer. Viktor came as he looked Jayce in the eyes, and he selfishly wondered if he could stay in this timeline forever. His pale skin was flushed, lips pink and swollen, and the look he gave him when he was at the height of his orgasm put thousands of porn magazines to shame. Jayce didn’t last long after that, feeling as if he was on ecstasy as he rode his high.
Jayce collapsed his head on Viktor’s shoulder, breathing heavy as he did. Viktor nuzzled into his neck, seeming worn out as he pulled him closer.
He wrapped an arm possessively around Viktor’s back. He was tracing V’s and mindless shapes into Jayce’s shoulder, causing him to shutter.
He was such a fucking idiot. All that time in his youth spent worried about social dynamics and publicity was a complete waste. When all was said and done, the only thing he really wanted in life had been there the entire time, and he had realized it too late. He carded his fingers through Viktor’s soft hair, who leaned into the touch like a cat. So much wasted time.
After what was minutes but Jayce wished was years, he moved to get up, careful to Gently set Viktor on the bed. “I’ll be right back. Gonna get something to clean this up.”
Viktor whined but didn’t stop him, eyes fluttering shut. “Don’t be long, it’s cold.” He wrapped himself in his blanket in a way that gave Jayce a smile. He put on his boxers and, after a moment of lingering, quietly slipped out of the room.
—
When he got back with a small towel and some water, Viktor was already asleep. He was curled in on his side, hair tossled with curls falling in his face. Even like this he was breathtaking, his relaxed state making him look even younger than before.
Jayce’s heart ached to look at him. He tried not to wake Viktor as he moved the blanket away, eyes trailing over his body. The way his neck and thighs were covered in dark bruises made Jayce feel both carnal and melancholy, something deep in his bones. He carefully finished cleaning him up, letting his hands linger on his legs and the faded scars on his chest longer than was actually necessary.
Suddenly, a sleep-ridden Viktor reached out for his wrist, burying the side of his face into the pillow.
“Jayce.”
It was spoken at barely a whisper, but the effect was immediate as Jayce froze in place. His heart was beating out of his chest, and the tears in his eyes had welled up before he could do anything about it. He placed a gentle palm to Viktor’s cheek, confirming he was really asleep as he didn’t stir.
Jayce realized just then that he had grabbed onto his left arm, thumb tracking over the crystal embedded in his wrist. His mind was going numb, and suddenly he was crying.
There were so many thoughts swirling in his mind, but one kept repeating like a broken record: I’m sorry. He wasn’t even sure for what, there were too many reasons to count, but the words rang true through his whole genetic makeup. He never should have gotten Viktor involved in hextech. Never should have taken him for granted. Never should have come here in the first place.
“Te echo de menos.” He took Viktor’s hand in his own, kissing his knuckles. “Mi amor.”
I love you.
Of course he loved Viktor, he had ever since he’s known him, but this time he meant it in a more all-consuming, selfish way. There was a gnawing at his conscious, and he knew then that he couldn’t stay.
He hated the idea of Viktor waking up alone, thinking this was some strange one night stand, but something told him that if he didn’t leave now he never would. He had already taken far more than he should have, and fucking up Viktor’s timeline more than he already had was a risk he was not willing to take. Still, the way that his soft features were illuminated by the light peering through his shutters tugged at Jayce’s heart strings, making the idea of leaving sound worse than apocalyptic ruin.
The corners of his mouth lifted into a sad smile. Stray tears trailing down his cheek, he leaned down to press a gentle kiss to Viktor’s forehead.
“I’ll be looking for you.” He knew what had to be done. Stopping Viktor was a cruel act of mercy and personal punishment, knowing that he could have changed everything if he had done things differently. Blame and guilt ran through his veins like cold ice. He would be gone by the time Viktor awoke, but he had a job to do. No matter what happened, he would get Viktor back, whether alive or with both of their souls intertwined in the cosmos.
“Partner.”
