Sirius has a problem.
A very persistent problem that he hasn’t been able to get rid of. At least…not entirely. He’s lonely and incredibly so. The only one out of the Marauders that haven’t been married yet or romantically involved. It’s sad, in the pitiful way that Sirius hates. Hell, even Peter’s got himself a girlfriend. A cute, but pretty average muggle witch from somewhere up North. Either way, even ol’ Pete himself has gotten himself a gal. Normally, this kind of thing doesn’t bother him. He could deal with it like he usually does; take for example, drinking his woes away by the fireplace of his nice cozy cottage up some hill in London.
He would say it was bought with his hard-earned money, but really two thirds of it came from his uncle’s inheritance and the rest with the generous graduation gift that the Potter’s had given him. The place was nice and all. Spacious and lets in sunlight from all angles of the house. So much better than the gloom of Grimmauld Place. His backyard was even better, stretching out far enough for Padfoot to zoom all over the place without feeling caged in. Best of all, the residences were spaced far enough away from each other that it took around a five-minute walk before he could reach the next neighbor. All the better for Padfoot to run around and enjoy basking under the sun with the Marauders.
Everything was great except for the fact that somehow, the place lacked the hominess that he wanted. More precisely– yearned for. Inviting his mates over practically every day did nothing to fill that void inside because in the end, he was always left with an empty and quiet home. That was the only thing it couldn’t beat Grimmauld Place in. At least in that gloomy dump, it’s lived in. Horrible as his mother’s constant condescending remarks and his father’s disapproving glare may be, at least there’s someone there.
Now, things aren’t always so bad. Like he’s said, nothing can’t be solved with a good glass of Firewhiskey. But like all things in life— which is just unfair, really–- not everything could be solved with Firewhiskey. The Potters have sent him the invite to their annual Christmas Party and Sirius couldn’t be more excited. The only problem is, he really doesn’t want to be the only person showing up to their get-together by his sad single self while everyone is going to show up with a partner. While there was no hard rule that you’ve got to bring a plus one, it was becoming increasingly obvious that Sirius was the only single of their group from the previous events he’s been invited to. Starting a family and having a kid can really narrow the scope of people you meet, Sirius noticed.
Sirius strolled into the Leaky Cauldron ready to drink his sorrows away, until his eyes landed on a rather gloomy figure clad in black at the corner of the bar; all by his lonesome self. Seated in a dark corner, with an aura that screamed at people to stay away, was Severus Snape.
Sirius walked up to the Slytherin with a spring in his steps, a wild grin already blooming on his face. Perhaps sensing someone approaching him, Severus’s head rose and the moment those dark bottomless eyes landed on him, they narrowed into a glare and those thin lips curled into a sneer. That didn’t deter Sirius, in fact, it made him even more pumped to approach the man. He slid into the seat next to Snape smoothly, waggling his eyebrows playfully as he purred, “Can I buy you a drink?”
“No.”
“That’s the first time I had anyone turn down a free drink.”
“Sod off, Black. I am in no mood to entertain your theatrics.” Snape had a sour look on his face, fingers curled into fists atop the table. Calculating dark eyes flickered towards Sirius briefly before lowering to glower at the chipped surface of the worn table.
“Killjoy.” Sirius rolled his eyes. “What would you like? Butterbeer? Firewhiskey? Or…”
“None of the above. Now, for the love of Merlin, will you leave me alone for once?”
“Don’t be such a prat. I’m trying to be nice.”
“Well, no need, because whatever you’re planning isn’t going to work.”
Sirius frowned, but otherwise undeterred, he made it his goal to penetrate those thick walls Snape had put up. Loneliness can be such a scary thing, even getting him to seek out the company of the last person he’d ever think of going to for company.
“Let’s try this again. How are you?”
“Peachy, until you arrived.”
“Well, I’m sure I can fix that.” Sirius flashed Snape a grin and called for the bartender, ordering two glasses of Firewhiskey for them. He pushed the glass towards Snape and clinked their glasses together, “Drink up!”
“I said I don’t want any drinks.” Snape muttered bitterly, glaring daggers at Sirius.
“Oh, I see how it is.” Sirius grinned, giving Snape a look. The one good thing that came out of schooling with the greasy dungeon bat for seven years is that he knows just how to press Snape’s buttons. “Can’t hold your liquor, can you?”
Almost instantly, the Slytherin grabbed the glass and downed its contents in one go, smacking the glass down all the while glaring right at Sirius, a triumphant look in his eyes.
“Oh my, so you were just shy after all.” Sirius chuckled, amusement lighting up his eyes. He leaned closer to Snape, knocking their knees together, “Like I said, I’ve never met a man who’d turn down free drinks.”
“I’m going to bleed your wallet dry, Black.” Snape hissed with a spark of challenge in his eyes.
“Looking forward to it, Sniv.”

As much as he’d hate to admit, Severus really can’t hold his liquor well. After ordering the most expensive drink on the menu, he felt himself getting sloshed after just two glasses. It was just his luck to encounter Sirius Black on this specific day of all days. At this point, Severus was genuinely beginning to suspect he was cursed to be stuck with Black for the rest of eternity with how he can’t seem to be able to escape the man even after graduating. Hell, he might still run into the man even if he moved all the way to Italy.
Onto the third glass, Severus was beginning to find it difficult to uphold his glare at Black, feeling his eyes drooping slightly, sleep tugging at the back of his head. Ugh, if it isn’t the consequences of his own actions… Like always, Severus falls right into the habit of walking into every single one of Black’s traps. Who was he to think he can outdrink the Gryffindor who was rumored to have been binge drinking like every sip was his last since the age of 15? Whether that was true or false, one thing for sure was that Severus was the only one sloshed out of the two of them. Fuck Black and everything perfect about him. Everything was fuzzy and warm and– oh dear, the stupid mutt was growing extra heads.
“So, I was thinking, you don’t have any plans for Christmas, do you?” Black's muffled voice somehow managed to penetrate through the fluff clouding his ears.
“What’s it to you?” Severus spat bitterly. What exactly was the Gryffindor trying to do, bringing this up? Was it to rub more salt into the wound, to taunt and humiliate him again like he did during their years at Hogwarts? If that was what Black was hoping for, he’d be sorely disappointed to know that Severus was invited to a Christmas party hosted by Lily, so he very much so have plans.
That is, if he were to actually go.
Just the thought of having to face James Potter and everyone else he hates for five hours straight– and maybe more– under the same roof was enough to have Severus shoot down the invitation immediately. He has it all planned; on the day of Christmas, he’s going to be conveniently sick, just like the year before and the year before that. He even prepared a potion in advance for it. Apologies in advance to poor little Harry, but his favorite uncle Sev will be bedridden and miserable at home instead of forcing himself to socialize with a roomful of obnoxious Gryffindors. A warm palm resting against his forearm brought him out of his brooding thoughts and his eyes jerked up sharply at his reluctantly acquired drinking buddy.
“I was wondering…” Black licked his lips, taking a moment to carefully pick his words, he glanced at Severus for a moment before he finished his sentence, “James is having this party on Christmas, and it’d be such a shame if someone as dashing as I were to go alone. So, I was thinking…if you’d like to have the honor of going with me.”
Severus was taken aback at the request, thinking he heard wrong, but by the eager looks the Gryffindor sent his way, he heard right. Severus finished the leftover wine in his glass and sneered, “Piss off Black, as if I’d go anywhere with you. Don’t you ever dare forget that I hate you.”
“Quit being so prissy, Sni— Snape. You should be glad I’m even offering. Knowing you, you’d probably be all sad and miserable, all alone on Christmas while everyone’s having fun.” Black scoffed, his hand sliding down Severus’s forearm to hover the back of his hand, teasing fingers slipping under his sleeve to stroke at the dry skin of his wrist. Black threw him one of those horrible, horrible smiles, all charming and sparkly. It’s one of those smiles that got schoolgirls swooning and for some reason, his stomach to flip. Severus was already regretting finishing that glass of wine as his scowl deepened, feeling all queasy inside. Black leaned closer until his breath puffed against Severus’s skin, “I can be great company you know.”
“You’re horrible company, Black.” Severus groaned, not quite able to bring himself to lean back from the other. His head was a mess and the only thing he wanted at that moment was to go home, take a nice bath and snuggle up in bed. Just anything to get out of whatever this is he has going on with Black.
The man only grinned at him, “So are you going with me or not?”
“I hate you.”
“And I, you.” Black sang passionately, which only proves to irk Severus even more. “Yes or no?”
“I just said I hate you.” If it weren’t for those mystifying silver eyes distracting him, Severus would’ve come up with a better answer. That answer alone though, should’ve been enough for the Gryffindor to catch the idea. Only then, it came to Severus’s belated realization that after spending all those painful years with the man, Black was horrible at taking a hint.
“I know, but that doesn’t answer the question.”
“Black, just how you managed to graduate baffles me.”
“Quit being so difficult about it, you’re acting like a prat.”
“Let me set things straight, you mangy cur. One, for starters, I hate you. Two, we are not close, nowhere near friends, at most acquaintances and I’m even being nice about that. And three, I hate you.” Severus held up three wobbly fingers, struggling to maintain a straight face. Salazar, why hadn’t he walked away from Black yet? He should’ve up and left the moment the stupidly attractive, the stupid mutt tainted his precious eyes with his mangy presence. It’s the alcohol, he’ll blame it on the alcohol–
“No, you don’t. If you did, your wand would be out, and you’d hexed me to next week by now.” Sirius grinned that awful grin that he always wore when he knew he was getting what he wanted, and boy was he.
“Has it ever occurred to you that I’m a mature adult and that we aren’t teenagers anymore?” Severus felt calloused fingers slip further into his sleeve, stroking at the skin of his arms and tingles began to find their way down his spine. He must be really wasted if he just continues to let Black touch him like this, so…so improperly.
“Yes, yes, I’m sure you are. Come on, it’s just one party. It’s only for a few hours; it won’t kill you.”
Severus only wrinkled his nose in distaste, giving Black a very, very judgy look paired with a frown. “We’re not close.”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“Like I said, I don’t like you. Don’t you know you asking me to go to Potter’s party–" Severus spat the name with bitterness and the little demon sitting on his shoulder is telling him that spending his Christmas in Azkaban for manslaughter would not sound like such a bad idea. “Is like a stranger asking my hand for marriage after the first date?”
“Now you’re just being dramatic.”
“Am not.”
“Yes, you are.”
“Nuh-uh.”
“Snape, just how pissed are you, really?”
“I am very much sober, thank you very much.”
“You’re pouting.”
“Am not.”
“Yes, you a–” Black paused midway and sighed in exasperation. “So, what’s it gonna take for you to go with me?”
“When the sun rises from the west.”
“How about a date?”
“As if I’d ever go on a date with you. My standards may be low, but they are not that low.”
“Now that’s just a low blow.” Black muttered, giving an eye roll of his own. “How about dinner at my place? We’ll get to know each other, and it’ll just be like we’ve been best buds since we were in the crib.”
“That’s even worse.”
“Do you have a better suggestion then?”
“No.”
“You know you want company. You’re lonely, just admit it. Why else would someone like you be in a sad dingy pub like this? Even if it suits your sad, lonesome self very much–”
“That is awfully rude of you.” Severus glared at Black with the most unimpressed face he could muster, the one he reserved just for his students. How dare he assume he was lonely? And how dare he assume correctly too?!
“Dinner at my place it is then.”
“You’re horrible.”
“Amazing, you mean.” Sirius quickly jotted down his address, with the date and time on a piece of loose parchment he found in his pockets and slipped it into Severus’s hand. With that done, he patted Severus on the back good naturedly and got up, heading towards the door, “It’s a date!”
“No, it’s not!”
“Yes, it is~”
Severus just groaned bitterly and crumpled the parchment within his sweaty palm.

Perhaps it's not too late to back out.
It was something Sirius had been very seriously considering for the past five hours. Currently, he finds himself in a muggle grocery store, staring at a pile of ruby red tomatoes for a good ten minutes. Prongs and Moony had told him countless times he was too impulsive, always jumping into things without thinking. He definitely made a fool out of himself that night, coming onto Snape like that. Godric, and the Slytherin hates him too!
But some part of Sirius was still hopeful that Snape would actually show up. Sirius picked up what he needed and rushed back home. First step to make this dinner the best he has ever made was to season the shit out of the chicken he just bought. Sirius has no idea what the dungeon bat’s food preferences were, but he was going to make this the best and most unforgettable dinner Snape will ever have. He’s never been more grateful than to have stayed with the Potter’s when he got kicked out of home, because if it were him five years ago, he wouldn’t have known where to place the butter or the pan. Euphemia Potter could cook up a mean dinner, Sirius will give her that.
When the clock neared seven, Sirius was fretting. If Snape really stood him up, then all this food, all the cooking and cleaning was for nothing. If worse comes to worse, Sirius can always power through the meal with Snuffles and whatever was leftover will go to the Christmas dinner. A little extra food never hurt anyone. It is, however, depressing to see all this effort and good food go to waste though. As the clock neared their agreed meeting time–technically, Sirius’s agreed meeting time– he was feeling increasingly anxious by the second. A good five minutes have passed, and Sirius could only sigh with resignation with the prospect that he really did get stood up… Sirius heard a knock at his door, and he bolted over, nearly tripping over Snuffles as he rushed to swing the door open.
Godric’s balls, Snape was all dressed up.
For him.
˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ˚₊‧⁺˖ ݁˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.
Only Severus would be idiotic enough to so willingly go to the house of his school bully of, let’s see– about a good 7 years. Just walking himself straight into the lion's den…quite literally. He wasn’t sure what had gotten into him, accepting Sirius’s offer to dinner when he could have thrown that pathetic piece of crumpled paper into the fire the moment he got home. Yet, he ended up rereading the messily scrawled time and address on that piece of yellowed paper over and over again like a lovesick teen who had just received a love letter from their crush, until exhaustion finally took over him and he promptly passed out cold on his couch. When he awoke the next morning with a splitting headache and drool smeared across his cheek, Severus could only conclude being alone for so long had finally done him in and he’s finally lost his marbles!
So, there he was, in the middle of London, standing in front of Black’s very nice looking house, a bottle of half frozen wine in hand, with his ass nearly freezing off. Severus had given up trying to use warming charms on the wine, opting to conserve the magic to warm himself up instead, but even the countless warming charms were unable to keep out the chill of the incoming snowstorm. His fault for getting off early from the cab honestly, but what can he do? Taxis were expensive. He was honestly starting to regret not dressing in his usual wizarding attire, with a nice thick robe and sewn in heating charms, but Severus wanted to look nice. Not for Black of course, but just in case. Incorporate some color into his life as Lily had put it.
Giving Black an excuse to insult him and call him a dark and gloomy dungeon bat was not on his list of to-dos for the night. However, the only thing he had in his closet that were not any shades of black was an emerald, green sweater that Lucius had gifted him over Christmas nearly six years ago–too big for him to wear at the time and still slightly too big, even now– or the obnoxiously Gryffindor themed sweatshirt that Lily left when she previously visited. Of course, true to Slytherin fashion, he chose the green sweater. To his surprise, it fit him perfectly.
He still had a rather small frame, but he grew into the sweater enough for it to not hang around him like he was a child wearing an adult large.
That in itself was enough to get him giddy as he dug through his drawers for a pair of skintight jeans. Movement was restricted, but sacrifices shall be made. He still remembered the compliments he had received from Lily when he wore them last time they met up and he can’t deny that the denim did in fact accentuate his legs nicely. That, and the fact that it made him look like a proper 21-year-old instead of Merlin from the Middle Ages was enough for him to sacrifice his mobility. As much as Lily teased him for it, he begrudgingly was starting to see the resemblance too.
Severus shuddered as another gust of wind swept through, pulling his thin, worn-out coat around himself as he considered running away after all, right after he rang the doorbell. He didn’t get much time to consider because the door swung open before he lost his guts and fled. What greeted Severus was the warmth from inside and the aroma of what must be a deliciously cooked meal with the bonus of the shocked face of Sirius Black. Severus would have laughed, but something had stopped him from going on with it.
The men stared at each other with equally dumbfounded expressions on their faces and in that moment, it was as if the world had stopped for them, them only. They remained engaged in this weirdly peaceful moment with neither of them talking for who knows how long, before the sensation of a cold, wet snout pressing into the tender skin of his belly snapped Severus out of his reverie with a little yelp.
Nosing under his sweater was a gigantic, scraggly black dog, looking as though he were the Grim himself. The beast had its tongue lolling and tail wagging as it looked up at Severus with a curious cock of its head. Severus didn’t know what expression had surfaced onto his face, but Black had busted into an amused chuckle while he assured that his beast of a dog was a so-called “good boy”.
“Don’t worry, he won't bite.”
Severus tentatively stuck out his hand and let the scraggly beast sniff him. The dog had given his fingers a happy lick and headbutted into his palm with a soft whine. Severus then returned its affection with scratches behind the ears. Preoccupied with showering the needy thing with scratches and pets, Severus didn’t draw his attention away until another icy gust of wind hit him. He finally raised his eyes to Black who sported an awfully tender expression on his face, which Severus decided to dutifully ignore. Holding up the bottle of wine in his hand in greeting, Severus said with chattering teeth, “Can I come in? It’s rather cold…”
“I– yes! Yes, of course.” That seemed to have done the trick to snap Black out of his trance as he quickly pulled Severus inside and locked the door behind them. “You must have been freezing out there!”
Severus could only sigh in relief when warmth began to surround his aching cold body, the chill in his bones finally dispelling. Fuck running away, Severus thinks he might just make himself home right there and never leave. Oh, what he would kill to have a properly heated home. He barely had time to compose himself before Black was all over him, hands already on him to take off his coat.
“Here, let me grab your coat.”
“Oh, I– alright, thank you…”
Severus watched the Gryffindor hang his coat onto the coat hanger with watchful eyes, still on guard and at unease. This was Sirius Black he’s with after all, the Gryffindor who had managed to make his years at Hogwarts rank second to the worst moments in his life. The moment the man turned around, Severus stuffed the bottle of whine he bought clumsily into his hands.
“I brought wine, if that’s alright with you.”
“That’s wonderful, Snape.” Black happily took the bottle from his hands and ushered him towards what he presumed to be the kitchen. He was right when he turned the corner and was met with a table full of steaming fresh food. Sat in the middle was a rotisserie chicken surrounded by roasted potatoes, pasta, and freshly baked bread with an assortment of jams and cheese. The sight itself was enough to make his mouth water.
The more he observed the man, the more he wanted to run away, but Black had been nothing but civil to him since the moment he arrived so he might as well return the favor. Just this once, he’ll let the night take the lead.
“Don’t worry about it, if we can’t finish this, we have Snuffles to help us.”
“Snuffles?” Right after Severus uttered the name, the wolfhound from before gave a soft bark from under the table and snuck its snout into Severus’s side, tail wagging.
“Snuffles. I’m sure the two of you have met already.” Black confirmed, eyes crinkling at the corners and looking at Severus with an expression that Severus was not able to comprehend. “He’s taken a liking to you already.”
Severus scratched the dog behind the ears, fingers combing through its mess of fur, the fluffy curls, soft beneath his palm. Severus quirked an eyebrow at Sirius, booping Snuffles on the nose before he turned back to the meal before him, “You named this beast Snuffles?”
“Doesn’t it suit him? You can’t deny that he’s adorable.”
He looks like the Grim. Severus wanted to say, but seeing those soft amber eyes staring up at him like that, he couldn’t help but agree—though reluctantly— with the fact that Snuffles was somewhat adorable. But Severus only snorted and picked up his utensils, Snuffles settling down by his legs and warming his feet. “Shall we eat?”
“Of course, of course. Dig in!”
˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ˚₊‧⁺˖ ݁˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.
He’s here, he’s here, he’s here.
Sirius’s hands were clammy. They shouldn’t be because what reason does he have to be nervous around Snape? The greasy dungeon bat they all called him during their time at Hogwarts. The awkward, gloomy nobody that does not deserve to be besides Lily, as Prongs had always muttered under his breath whenever the duo would pass by them in the halls. On certain occasions when Evans did manage to catch what his best mate had said, would throw a jinx their way in retaliation. Sirius shouldn’t care about what Snape thought. His opinions weighed nothing in his heart. It did though.
He was eager to be told he did a good job, that the dinner he made was fabulous like an anxious puppy waiting to be praised and he doesn’t even know why . He just does. To take his mind off these confusing thoughts, Sirius poured them both the wine that Snape brought. He nearly dropped the glass when their fingers brushed as he was passing the glass over.
“Are you hot?” Snape had a questioning look to his eyes.
“What?” The question had caught Sirius off guard, though it gave him the perfect chance to flash Snape one of his dashing smiles, “Well, I do consider myself quite charming, so sure.”
“No, I mean–” Snape looked like he was fighting with himself to get the next words out, his face turning a funny shade of pink. “Your fingers were sweaty.”
Of course Snape has to point it out. As observant as ever. Subtly wiping his hands on his thigh, Sirius just grinned. Play it cool, play it cool, Sirius… “I wasn’t aware you knew of my sweating habits. For all we know, I could have naturally sweaty hands.”
That was so uncool.
“You don’t, your hands are usually dry.”
“Oh~?” Sirius raised his brows in amusement. “So you were paying attention.”
“Whatever, eat your food before it gets cold.”
Dinner was an experience. It wasn’t awkward or unbearable contrary to Sirius’s expectations. Imagine his surprise when Snape threw him a few unrestrained smiles and cracked jokes, morbid as they were. Sirius hadn’t expected himself to enjoy them, but he did and if that’s not just another sign for him to hold on to the belief that Snape is the one.
The Slytherin may not be conventionally attractive, far from Sirius’s type, however he can be adorable. Who knew Snape could look so cute with his crooked grins and cheeks stuffed full? Now, even though Sirius had plenty of chances, he never watched Snape eat before– he’s not a weirdo after all– and he never felt so disappointed he hadn’t. He missed out on some good years of seeing Snape with his cheeks full like a hungry chipmunk, so adorably trying to fit more into his mouth before he was even done chewing. Then again, the Slytherin had always been horribly boney back in their school days, Sirius was beginning to suspect if Snape even ate at all back then. Lily did always complain and fret over the man’s eating habits
Either Sirius’s cooking was really that good or Snape had starved himself for the former part of the day. Anywho, Sirius wouldn’t mind seeing this more often, perhaps even forever. Prongs and Moony did say he was one to listen to his heart before his brain, but Sirius just has this feeling, a sure fast feeling that Snape will be the one to save him from this emptiness inside him.

“The floo is down.”
“It’s alright, I’ll just take a cab.”
“You can stay the night, you know.”
“I really shouldn't impose.”
“Sev it’s snowing like hell out there; you’re going to get blown away.”
“I will not.” Severus said matter of factly with an added glare. He grabbed his coat and reached for the door handle, when a hand held him back. Black was close. Really, really close, nearly pressed against him, causing Severus’s heart to pick up. He glanced behind him, raising his brows. The stupidly handsome mutt had a playful glint in his eyes when he pulled him back.
“Baby, it’s cold outside.”
Severus couldn’t help but let out a little snort and roll his eyes. A smile threatened to break out on his lips as he humored the other man, “I really can’t stay.”
“But baby, it’s cold outside.” The little pout that sprouted on Black’s lips and the puppy eyes that he sent Severus’s way nearly had the Slytherin doubling over with laughter.
With a light chuckle breaking past his lips, Severus sang softly, “I’ve got to go away.”
“But baby it’s cold outside.” Black grinned playfully as he followed along with Severus, slowly pulling the Slytherin back into the house.
“This evening has been~” Severus smiled, eyes crinkling around at the corners as he let his coat slip from his arms. “So very nice.”
“I’ll hold your hands; they’re just like ice.” Black’s fingers tangled with his, pulling him close.
“My mother will start to worry.” Severus made a show of looking concerned, drawing out the note softly, keeping step with the Gryffindor.
“Beautiful, what’s the hurry?”
Oh, how his heart skipped a beat at the way Black delivered the line, looking at him in a way that got his cheeks to flush. Severus placed his palm on Gryffindor's chest, a teasing. “My father will be pacing the floor.”
“Listen to the fireplace roar.”
“So really I’d better scurry.” Hands slid up that fine chest and found themselves buried into the Gryffindor’s wild curls. Severus blinked and his eyes caught silver.
“Beautiful, please don't hurry.” Black leaned down, hot breath brushing past his cheeks. A startled squeak found its way out of Severus’s lips when a warm palm rested against his waist. He could feel the heat through the thin fabric like a brand, almost like there was nothing between them at all.
If that didn’t have Severus’s knees weak, he didn’t know what would.
“Well, maybe half a drink more.” Severus breathed, lashes fluttering coquettishly without him even being aware of it.
“Put some records on while I pour.”
“I gotta get home.”
“But baby you’d freeze out there.”
Severus rolled his eyes with a huff, “say, lend me your coat?”
“It’s up to your knees out there.”
Severus was pressed against the wall, excitement thrumming through his veins. All his senses were attacked by Black. The man was everywhere. His cologne was in every breath Severus took. Skin tingled from the man's warm breath hitting his cheeks and Black was right there. There's nowhere else for him to look. He’s never felt more alive.

Faces merely inches apart, if Sirius would just lean in a tad bit their lips would touch. In that small moment with their eyes locked onto each other, silver on obsidian, hot breath mingling. Sirius was about to risk it all and seal those soft looking lips with his own. Slowly letting his eyes fall closed, Sirius leaned forward and…
“What are we doing?” Snape bursted out laughing, throwing his head back. Sirius had never seen the man laugh so hard in his life, eyes full of mirth and the bubbly sound that left those thin lips were like music to his ears. He could watch the Slytherin laugh all day, and he wouldn’t get tired of it.
“What’s so funny?” Sirius snapped out of his little trance and playfully stepped forward to pull Snape into his arms. The moment he pulled the Slytherin close enough, he began to launch a series of tickle attacks along the giggling wizard’s sides, bringing about another round of bubbly laughter.
“Ah– stop! Haha stooop it!” Snape swatted him away and clutched his sides, doubling over as he tried to catch his breath. With every wheeze and giggle that he let out, the brighter the pink that dusted his pale cheeks became. Accuse him of losing his marbles all you want, but Sirius thinks he just fell in love right then and there. Taking another step with a wide grin he didn’t know had blossomed onto his lips, Sirius captured the giggling man in his embrace once more, grin widening when Snape yelped and tried to run away from him.
“Now, tell me what’s got you all worked up.” Sirius rested his forehead against Snape’s, nuzzling the tips of their noses together, eliciting a snort from the other. He’s a goner for sure. Sirius may have realized he has fallen horribly in love if by the way his heart fluttered when Snape wrinkled his nose adorably has anything to say about it.
“This is ridiculous.” Snape giggled, nose crinkling in a way that resembles much of a rabbit. It was a sight to see. A perhaps rare sight that no one else has ever quite witnessed, but Sirius managed to and he soaked it all in like a starved man. Snape’s inky eyes, glazed from all his laughing flickered to his, a sure to be toothy smile barely restrained threatening to break out as he murmured breathlessly, “You’re ridiculous.”
“And what’s so ridiculous?”
“This whole thing. We’re grown men for Merlin’s sake.” Snape rolled his eyes with upturned lips, eyes crinkling at the corners. And if that didn’t just make Sirius fall more in love. “We’re not supposed to be chasing each other around the house singing and begging the other to stay like lovesick teenagers.”
“Who says grown people can’t have fun?” Sirius pouted dramatically, giving a look that replicated Snuffles when he tried to charm muggles for treats. “And for the record, I was not begging.”
“We hate each other.”
“Oh, don’t start that again.”
“Try me.”
“If I have anything to say about this, I say you’re the one being ridiculous.” Sirius smiled softly, taking in every detail of the Slytherin in front of him. From the way his soft hair– silky, not oily– shone and his dark eyes under the golden chandelier sparkled like they held the stars. He looked nice like this, like someone he could get close to; someone who held warmth. It made him human.
Yes, that’s what it was.
That was what had irked Sirius so much back then. Not from the incident on the train, but when he tried to get close to the other and apologize– years too late. At that point, the impression the Slytheirn had of him was most likely down in the trenches. Made things all the more easier for Sirius to pick on him, to join in with James on the teasing. It was easy to forget that he was human. Sirius never saw him talk to anyone else but Lily and that always got James all cranky. Sure, he seen him with Mulciber and Avery, but those were the bad bunch. He had a weird fascination with the Dark Arts, which only ticked Sirius off even more. It made things that much easier to treat Snape like one of them, to believe the Slytherin didn't deserve good.
“So, stay the night?” Sirius asked, tone hopeful.
Snape chewed on his lips, somehow still hesitant after all that, “I’ll think about it.”
“What is there to even think about? It’s up to your knees out there.” Sirius groaned. If Snape can’t decide, he’ll just have to decide for him. Without further ado, Sirius tugged the Slytherin to the bathroom by the wrist, “You’re staying the night.
“Fine, you bossy twat.”
Sirius could see Snape rolling his eyes without having to look back and as much as Snape was complaining and refusing his offer to stay, the man trailed after him with no resistance at all.

“You’re just going to sleep?”
“Yes?”
“Just like that?”
“Sev, is something wrong?”
“I– you…” Severus was speechless. Face flushing slightly at the thoughts that had invaded his head while he was in the bath. He never thought Sirius was just going to simply go to bed, especially after how much he insisted Severus stay. Perhaps he was only doing that out of the goodness of his heart? Did Severus misread the atmosphere earlier? But clearly all those touches from earlier, the way those silver eyes looked at him, surely…
“Severus?”
“Nothing, nevermind. Let’s sleep.” Severus hurriedly blurted and plopped down, burying his face into the pillow in embarrassment, hiding under the covers. And if the way he jumped and let out a little startled yelp was not embarrassing enough when he felt Black’s arms wrap around him from behind, then the way his traitorous prick gave a little twitch in interest was.
“Did I do something wrong?”
Severus bit back a groan that threatened to escape his throat and buried his face into the pillow that smelled dreadfully of Black. It was torture. Severus would’ve rather braved the snowstorm outside then be stuck in bed with Black’s muscular body plastered against his back. Sweet Salazar, the man was hot, literally. It felt as if a heated blanket was wrapped around Severus, and he hates that he’s enjoying it.
“Why are you mad?”
“M’ not.” Severus mumbled; voice muffled by the pillow. Everything was hot, hot, hot. Everything from the Gryffindor’s body, his voice, down to the breath hitting the back of his neck was hot.
“Yes you are, your ears are red.”
Oh, no, no, no, don’t come any closer.
“That’s not-" Severus gasped and squirmed, trying to roll over, anything to hide the raging boner he was currently sporting. He squeezed his thighs together, heart racing like he’s been running laps around Hogwarts. He’s half horrified at the thought of Black discovering the excitement between his legs and excited to be caught at the same time. There is definitely, definitely something wrong with him.
Why hadn’t he been more insistent on taking the couch? Right, because his stupid horny brain thought he’d be getting railed by now. He’s wearing the man’s clothes, used his shampoo, and he’s in his bed for Merlin’s sake. But Black was just being nice and gentlemanly (which, unfortunately Severus from this evening decided he was suddenly really into) in a polite way and not in a I want to date you way. Gods, he’s pathetic.
He should have fought tooth and nail for that couch.
˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ˚₊‧⁺˖ ݁˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.
Hold it together Sirius.
Severus smelled like his shampoo, but beneath it all was the faint scent of almonds and herbs that he’s been getting hints of throughout the night. A scent that is very specifically Severus. Sometimes he wishes his dick doesn’t have a mind of its own, but it’s too late now as he tries to tilt his hips away from the Slytherin. Sirius had to continuously remind himself that Snape was just tolerating him for the moment, barely even there friends, even though Sirius had already begun thinking of them as more than that. He can’t let this fragile relationship that they’ve just built to fall apart because of a stupid boner.
“Maybe I should go to the couch after all.” Sirius suggested, removing his arm around Severus. He didn’t get very far though, because it was snatched right back.
“No!”
“Alright, alright. Relax, I’m not going anywhere.” Sirius shook his arm a little to release his hand from the death grip Severus had on it. Sighing softly, he flipped Severus over until they were facing each other, “C’mere.”
“What is it?” Severus’s cheeks held such a pretty blush and Sirius already wants to kick himself in the face for turning the man over. This just made things so much harder for him! Oh, how he wants to smother that face in kisses and bite into those rosy cheeks.
“I wanna talk to you.”
Severus grumbled, clearly not enjoying the new position he was in. “We were already talking.”
“Yeah, but I wanna talk face to face.”
“That’s stupid.”
“So, you’re really not mad?” Sirius actually wasn’t sure what Severus would even be mad about, but he wanted to make sure, just in case.
Severus hemmed and hawed, then unexpectedly hid his face against Sirius’s chest. Sirius felt warm all over, it was kind of sweet and Sirius would love to enjoy it if his traitorous cock didn’t give a twitch in reminder of its presence. He was so warm, smelled so nice, and Sirius was quite frankly, dying. “No, now can we sleep?”
Severus was moving closer to him, snuggling dangerously close to–
“Wait!” Sirius grabbed a pillow and sandwiched it between their bodies. Severus made a questioning sound and Sirius hurried to explain with a quickly made-up excuse. “I get sweaty in my sleep, don’t wanna get any on you haha…”
“Then you shouldn’t even be touching me??”
“Just– sleep tight, ok? Don’t let the bedbug's bite.” Sirius cooed and squeezed Severus as close as he could possibly manage, desperately hoping that the pillow did its job and Severus wouldn’t be able to feel anything. He got a grumble and a smack to his chest for his efforts, but Severus settled down easily enough. He held the Slytherin extra tight for a bit just to screw around and wished vehemently for the man to fall asleep already. His prayers to the stars above must’ve been heard because not long after, the sound of Severus’s soft and even breathing drifted into his ear. He may or may not have taken advantage of that to nuzzle his nose into Severus’s freshly washed hair just so he could breathe in his scent. He wasn’t being weird…at all.
˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ˚₊‧⁺˖ ݁˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.
Severus woke up all warm and comfy. He’s never slept so well in his life. It took him a while to reorganize his brain and recall that he stayed over and slept in the same bed as Sirius. That itself should’ve had him panicking and vow to never come across the Gryffindor again, but he was too comfortable, snuggled up under heavy quilts and in a pair of strong arms— arms?
It felt far too intimate and all at once blood started rushing south at the images that popped into his head.
Oh no…
He needs to go. He needs to leave. He would not be caught dead snuggled up in Black’s arms rock hard. Never. He wiggled slightly, hoping to loosen himself from Black’s grip around his waist, freezing up every other moment when he heard a grunt or a change of breathing from the man behind him. However, just as he was about to risk it all and bolt out of there, a little something probed his backside.
Something hard.
Severus tentatively reached behind to inspect the cause of interest and felt his body flushing the longer he palmed at the obvious boner that belonged to Sirius. Gods have mercy, he was huge. Perhaps he wasn’t as far gone as he thought he was. Though logically speaking, this could very well be a good case of morning wood. A very normal biological reaction that has nothing to do with Severus. Time was of essence and Severus was not going to pass up on the opportunity now that he was given one once more.
This could either end really, really well or it could end in disaster. If he was wrong and things went south, at worst Severus would be landing himself in a lifetime of embarrassment and an extremely disgusted Sirius Black. That was fine because it would mean Severus will never have to see the man again because he would’ve either completely erased himself from the planes of existence or move five countries over and never step foot outside ever again. Severus’s hand paused, his excitement diminishing a tad bit. On second thought… But then, that monstrous thing twitched against his palm and a sound somewhat akin to a whine came out of Black. Just how was Severus expected to ignore that?
In theory, he knows just about anything he needs to do for a fun time (if what the romances that Lily forced him to read have anything to say about it), but in practice, he was nothing but a virgin who’s never even properly kissed anyone before. Moving into action before he gets cold feet again, Severus lightly pushed against Black until the man was on his back. He paused briefly to make sure Black didn’t wake before he slid under the covers, carefully situating himself between the Gryffindor’s legs.
He carefully tugged the waistband of those sweatpants down and nearly got slapped in the face. Oh, he is huge. Seeing it for himself and feeling it was completely different. To call it a monstrosity would be too dramatic, but Black is certainly not small. Actually, maybe this was a bad idea after all. Who was he kidding? How was he going to fit something like this in his mouth? Surely doing from simple instructions was different than actually going through with said action. Unfortunately, Severus did not get much time to consider backing out.
“Morn– oh.”
“Hey.”
“Oh, please don’t let this be a dream.”
“Well, if it isn’t your lucky day then. It’s not.” Severus gave the leaking tip a loving kiss, batting his lashes at the man in what he hoped made him look flattering. He was already caught red handed, he might as well go through with it.
He licked a strip up the underside of Black’s swelling member, memorizing the shape and feel of those pulsing veins against his tongue. His fingers curled around the base, giving it a few pumps and marveled at the way it throbbed and twitched with interest. Reaching the tip, Severus suckled gently, lapping up the precum that had gathered. Black tasted clean, with a hint of saltiness, and his scent carried the faint traces of his cologne and sleep.
Fingers found their way into his hair, combing his bangs from his forehead before curling around a handful to tug encouragingly for Severus to continue. Severus made a little sound, humming lightly—which Black seemed to enjoy, with the way his fingers tightened their hold on his hair — and he brought more of the man’s cock into his mouth.
“Oh, my gods–”
Severus doubled his efforts, alternating between firm and soft sucks. When his cheeks got tired, he’d swirl his tongue around the cockhead, sometimes dipping the tip of his tongue along the slit. Black was certainly not the quiet type. His groans and gasps were like praises to Severus’s ears, a testament to how well he was doing, which in turn encourages him even more. Severus has considered taking the Gryffindor deeper, but he’d rather not end up puking all over the man.
Although he did plan to just keep things at just the tip, reality has other plans. Black’s hips were erratic, and Severus can’t blame him. He’s happy that the man was enjoying himself and Severus was the one that made him feel good, but it becomes a problem when Black would suddenly thrust deep into his mouth, nearly hitting the back of his throat. Quite a few times he had succeeded, and Severus had to hold everything in him to not gag. Overall, everything was going swimmingly. That was, until Black stopped him.
“Wait– stop.” Black gently tugged him off and Severus had this sinking feeling that he had definitely done something wrong. It was his fault for thinking he could pull this off with no prior experience. Should he just run away now and never look back? Salazar, was Black just being polite this whole time, letting Severus fumble around until he finally decided couldn’t take it anymore? Someone please put him out of his misery.
˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ˚₊‧⁺˖ ݁˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.
Maybe he shouldn’t have stopped Severus. The sweet thing had the most devastated look on his face and Sirius almost felt bad, but he would probably feel worse if he had lost control and shot his load into Severus’s throat without warning. But then, when Severus spoke, his voice was so small and sad, like he was on the verge of tears.
“Was it bad?”
Oh, he was an idiot . Sirius wanted to punch himself in the face. He quickly reassured Severus as enthusiastically as possible, “What? No, no! It was great, fantastic!”
“Then– then why’d you stop me?”
He was feeling all flustered for some reason. “Cus I was about to come…”
“Then…come?” Sweet Merlin, save him. How can Severus be so cute??!!
“I wanted to come inside you…” Sirius really thinks he’s about to die. He littered Severus’s cheeks with kisses, giving him the best puppy eyes he could muster, “...can I?”
“Oh.” And the prettiest blush crept up Severus’s face once more. There was this moment of realization going through the Slytherin’s brain, and Sirius watched with patience as those obsidian orbs widened and cheeks turned a deeper shade of red. “O-oh.”
“Yes, so can I?” Sirius didn’t want to rush, their relationship is still standing on eggshells. Sure, he did get the best dick sucking he ever had in a while, but that could’ve meant anything really. More likely than not, most certainly not in a way that Sirius is interpreting it. For all he knows, Severus could just be pent up and Sirius was just conveniently there. However, he really did want to be inside the man.
“Yes– I mean, sure.” Severus shrugged, appearing nonchalant, but his cheeks are as red as ever.
Sirius has never gotten to work faster in his life. With a flick of his wand, he got his bottle of lube and packet of condoms from his nightstand ready in his clutch. Sirius would normally take things slow, see how long he could tease Severus for until the other was a writhing, begging, pile of goo under him, but he didn’t want to wait any longer. He’s been holding back for so long already.
He made quick work of lubing up his fingers and stretching Severus out. Once he deemed Severus stretched enough, he pulled the man onto his lap. Sirius teased the head of his cock against Severus’s puckered hole. Gods, he wants to sink into him so bad, but Snape looked so beautiful panting and quivering with anticipation under him that he slowed down, watch every expression that’ll flash across the Slytherin’s face when he fills him up, hear all the pretty little sounds that’s spill from those thin, rosy lips.
It was all worth it.
˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ˚₊‧⁺˖ ݁˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.
“You’ve had a lot of practice, haven't you?” Black nibbled on his collarbone and left behind marks that will for sure bruise the next day. Oh, stars above, he’s never been more grateful for the cold of winter. If it had been summer, he wasn’t sure how he'd manage to cover himself up. “You’re riding me so well, baby. Makes me jealous of whichever lucky bastard that got to experience this before me.”
The jealousy in Black’s words and the way his hips were grabbed with such possessiveness sent a new spark of heat down to Severus’s belly. He squeezed around the Gryffindor, thighs quivering with exertion from trying to keep up with the pace Black set. Maybe he was too blissed out to think straight, maybe it was the way Black looked at him, but he was awfully truthful when he replied, “So, jealous of me?”
“Huh?”
“Well– ngh…” Severus’s legs nearly gave out when Black hit his prostate head on. His thighs were quivering like he ran a marathon and he needed to come so bad. He was so close. “ It’s only been my fingers so far, so I can’t quite say I’ve got a lot of practice.”
“You’re saying…?”
“Mhmm– Black, please –” Severus whined, a high pitched sound he never thought himself capable of making. He’s so, so close , but this ass just had to pause! He attempted to thrust himself on the pulsing hot length inside him, wriggling in desperation to get it to hit the spot that gets him turning into putty but the hold Black had on his hips were firm. The grip those fingers had on him were for sure going to leave bruises and Severus would normally swoon over how hot it is, if not for the fact that his balls feel like they’re about to burst.
“Severus,” Black peppered open mouthed kisses down his throat, kissing every inch of skin he could reach. “Sev—”
“Stop calling me that.” Severus gasped when a particular thrust had him weak all over. He ignored it the first time the Gryffindor called him that . It was horribly intimate and Severus hates his heart for skipping a beat everytime Black murmurs his name in that stupidly sweet way of his. The second time he let it slide. This time– this time, he can’t let it happen again.
“Sev, baby.”
“Black—” If it wasn’t because the man was balls deep inside him then Severus would’ve hexed his impudent ass for ignoring him.
Black stilled in him again, pinning Severus down by the hips and he nearly sobbed in frustration. “Sirius, call me Sirius. Sev, baby, sugar, please?”
Severus squirmed, thrashed against the firm hold the man had on him, clawed against his shoulders, anything to get the man to start moving again. He can’t- just won’t. He will not give into this asshole. “Black, move !”
“Come on, you can do it. Baby, please. ”
“Oh, fuck you!” Severus hissed, sinking his teeth into Black’s shoulder. He’s going to tear this man apart if he doesn’t move already. A sound close to a growl erupted from Severus’s throat and he gnawed on the Gryffindor’s skin until it turned a red, angry mess. Just move, move, move, damnit!
“You already are, Sev.”
“Sirius, move already!” He gave in sooner than he would like to admit. Something he’ll have to reflect on later, but at least he managed to get what he wanted.
Bla– Sirius was a force to be reckoned with when he really put his mind to it. No sooner had Severus reeled back in from being flipped onto his back, a small yelp escaping him when he hit the mattress, Sirius was already going to town on him. It was like the air was being pounded out of his lungs everytime Sirius thrusted into him. His fingers twisted in the sure to be ruined sheets, scrambling moments later to grab onto Sirius’s arms for better leverage.
“S-Sirius, wait–” Sirius kept hitting his prostate with such accuracy, Severus was sure the man was doing it on purpose. He slapped Sirius's chest to get him to slow down, or at least let him have a breather, but it was futile. Another thrust and Severus was seeing stars again, tingles shooting throughout his body, he was weak to even fighting back at all. Severus was breathless, “Slow down, y-you brute!”
And it was like Sirius wasn’t even listening to him at all. Correction, he wasn’t, period. There most likely was not a single word that managed to travel into that thick head of his since the second he began plowing Severus into the mattress. Sirius didn’t let up one bit, not even when Severus was reduced to a babbling mess. It didn’t take long for Severus to find his release, a choked off groan leaving his throat while he saw white behind his eyes.
When he came to again, Sirius was still rock hard inside him. It all became too much at once. He was sensitive all over and what’s worse is that he can’t decide if he wants to get away or let Sirius just do as he pleases. “Ah– ngh! Sirius… too much!”
“Just a little more, Sev. I’m so close.”
Curse this man and his stupid stamina.
Sirius buried his face into Severus’s neck, sucking and biting along his throat. For the second time, Severus’s body tensed, splashing another layer of white between their chests. He was wrecked. To much of his relief, Sirius came moments after.
˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ˚₊‧⁺˖ ݁˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.
Severus shoved Sirius off of him, panting harshly while he stared thoughtlessly at the ceiling above. He just laid there quietly until the sweat had begun to cool on his skin and the stickiness between his thighs were starting to bother him. His heart had barely had time to calm, and Sirius had somehow found it in him to roll over on top of him once more, sneaky hands wandering where they weren’t supposed to.
“Off.” Severus ordered. He meant to be firm, but the hoarseness and breathlessness in his voice had the opposite effect. He won’t have the strength to push Sirius off him even if he tried. “We are not going again.”
Sirius whined, “Spoilsport. You can’t just leave me hanging after you’ve been teasing me all night.”
The audacity of this man.
“Me teasing you?!”
“Yeah. I’m a simple man, love. What else do you suppose goes on in my brain when you’re wearing my clothes, smelling of my shampoo, and laying in my bed. Gods, and you even had to get all snuggly on me.”
“Well too bad, you had your chance last night and you blew it.” And Sirius even has the gall to look confused. Severus flicked him in the forehead, grumbling, “That’s right, you got me all worked up only to tell me we were just simply going to sleep!”
“Merlin’s balls, I thought you were mad!” Sirius groaned with exasperation, then widened his eyes at Severus as if he held the answers to the universe. He whispered, “Wait, so you were- you- I didn’t know you were interested…”
“Whatever. If I were mad, you would know, Black.”
“So we’re back to Black now, are we?”
“Yes, we are.”
“Well, fine then.” Sirius was all huffy and puffy, turning his back to Severus.
Look at this big baby, being all childish and sulking. Just what did Severus see in this man that made him so desperate for him for the past twenty-four hours?? Severus poked Sirius’s broad back with his index finger, threatening, “I’m leaving.
Great, now he was given the cold shoulder.
“Sirius.”
As expected, he was ignored.
“Sirius…love.”
“Yes, darling?”
Severus has never seen anyone change their demeanor so quickly before. He had to fight rolling his eyes so bad, lest he roll them too hard and they get stuck in the back of his head. Sirius, Severus concluded, has the attention span of a 5 year old and the temperament of one too.
“You’re insufferable.”
“First time?”
“Go bugger off
“You’re a meanie.”
“I have more of where that came from.” Severus stated flatly.
“Like I said, mean.”
“I think maybe I will leave.”
“No, no come back.”
“Clearly, I’m nowhere nice nor sweet enough for you and don’t expect me to be.”
Sirius pressed a consoling kiss to the tip of his nose. “That’s fine. I like it when you’re mean. It’s hot.”
“Merlin’s saggy balls, you’re so–” Severus rolled his eyes in exasperation, a smile already tugging at his lips.
“Handsome? Great? Amazing?”
“Insufferable.”
They’ve spent the next hour in bed, listening to the rattling of the windows from the still raging storm outside, just basking in each other’s warmth. Living in each other’s presence. By the time Severus’s stomach began to let out embarrassing growls in hunger, they had finally decided to get up and drag themselves out of bed, parting from each other like reluctant lovers who would never see each other again, afraid that this moment would end.
When Black had leaned in to kiss him on the lips, Severus evaded it swiftly, heart pounding in terror at the thought of what would have happened if he had allowed it. It would have broken him, that’s for sure. It would have been fine if not for the dejected look and hurt that flashed through Black’s eyes. That had only made the queasy feeling rolling in his stomach intensify. Though that moment of stillness only lasted briefly before Black excused himself to make breakfast for the two of them while he washed up in the adjoining bathroom.
Breakfast was as fine as it could get. With them tiptoeing this line between friendly and distant. What were they really? Severus tried not to think about it. He didn’t want to waste any effort into thinking about it knowing that once the storm calms, he’d leave and chances are, they’d go back to at best acting like they don’t know each other and worse, back to hating each other as they had always been. He's already overstayed his welcome. He has no doubts that what happened this morning was nothing more than a casual one-night stand for Black.
“You don’t like beans much do you?”
“What?” Severus snapped out of his thoughts and looked up from his plate, already regretting his action because of the tenderness in Black’s eyes when he looked at him.
“You haven’t touched your beans one bit.”
Severus hummed and scooped his beans onto Sirius’s plate like a picky child. “You can have them.”
“More eggs?”
“Alright.”
˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ˚₊‧⁺˖ ݁˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.
Come dinnertime and the storm has not lifted at all. Sirius prepared a simple meal for the two of them to enjoy while lounging on the daybed that Sirius had bought in place of a couch when he bought the house.
“You ought to eat some vegetables.”
“I had beans.”
“Those are not veggies, sweetheart. And mind you, you only had a bite before you decided you were done with them.” Severus never struck Sirius as a vegetable hater or a picky eater for that matter. It was kind of cute and concerning at the same time. Is this why he always looked so gaunt when they were young? Poor thing wasn’t getting his required nutrients. That’s alright though, Sirius will fix that in no time.
“Don’t call me that.”
“Why not?”
“I’m not-" Severus frowned, “I’m not sweet.”
How can he not see it? “Oh, you have no idea.”
“Black.”
“Fine, fine.” This will not be the end of it, that’s for sure. One thing Sirius lacks is knowing when it’s a good time to give up. Maybe it’s a Black trait, but they’ll stop at nothing until they get what they want. With Severus, it might take a while. Slowly but surely, he’ll make the Slytherin his.
Baby steps.
Baby steps are all they need. Just how well Sirius can keep to that plan though…

“What makes you think I’ll stay the night again?
“So we’d get to cuddle with the added bonus of it being a date night?”
“Who says we’re dating?” Severus felt his hackles rising, for whatever reason. They were heading towards unknown territory. Too fast. This was too abrupt, he wasn’t ready for it. It was just fine when they were fooling around, no strings attached, but now this mutt thinks it means they’re dating.
“Me.”
“I hate you, don’t you remember?”
“Lier, that’s not what you think, and you know it.”
“You don’t know what I think!”
“Yes I do, and I think you like me.” Sirius held him down, pressed him into the daybed in a way that got his heart to flutter. Grounding and electrifying. He couldn’t bring himself to look away from those silver eyes, so sincere and soft in the way they looked at him. Too soft; too genuine. It makes him want to run away and hide. It makes him feel – he hates it so much.
“I hate you.” Severus whispered, but who was he kidding, he had long fallen for the man since the moment he stopped him from leaving. Or maybe it was during dinner when the Gryffindor listened to him so attentively, spooning bites of food onto his plate every time he looked up to talk again as if he wouldn’t notice it.
“I like you too.”
Severus would’ve continued to protest, but those warm lips pressing against his wouldn't allow any more words out. To his dismay, he didn’t even fight it. The moment Sirius was on him, his body gave up any motivation to fight. He just melted against the man like a puddle of goo. It was like a dream come true, those moments they described in those disgustingly cheesy romances Lily and Petunia used to make him watch when they did sleepovers, only better. They weren’t lying when they said it was magical…
They’ve done much worse than kissing, yet somehow when they broke away for air, Severus was too embarrassed and flustered to even look Sirius in the eye. He blocked Sirius off with his palm when the man dove in for another kiss. He’s not sure his heart will be able to take another one. Severus shooed Sirius off him, “Go rewind the tape, you made me miss half of the movie.”
˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ˚₊‧⁺˖ ݁˖⁺‧₊˚ ˖.
“So, I’ll see you at the party?”
Severus paused mid lacing his sneakers. Five hours straight under the same roof with Potter? Still not a very delectable idea, but with Sriius there? That can be something he’ll put into consideration. He pressed a lingering kiss to Sirius’s cheek after grabbing a handful of floo powder.
“I’ll see you there.”
