Long black hair, blue tips in both bangs and ends of her hair, orange eyes, a pretty face and smile. Those are the details of Kohane’s target. Those details belong to none other than the daughter of a well known mafia faction, RADder, her name is An Shiraishi. It’s rumored that she’s going to take over it soon knowing her father is no longer in good condition. Kohane’s close to the target, well not that close, she kept a good distance. Observing her. Based on the information given An works as a part-time hostess at a bar and Kohane can’t help but think how good she is at her job. She’s got that charisma and charm, other than that she’s really pretty. Kohane then gets flustered for thinking she’s pretty, she hits the table where she’s sitting. “F-focus Kohane…” she says.
As of now, An is seen to be chatting with customers. Trying to find the right momentum Kohane waits for them to go away so she could approach An. A few minutes later, they leave and An is alone, leaning her back at the bar counter. Kohane then wears back the hat she put on the table before and stands up, approaching An. But as soon as she’s close… an ambush happened.
“FREEZE!!”
Everyone panicked and started running, shots were heard and a few got killed. Both Kohane and An got startled. An then confronts these intruders.
“What do you guys want?!” she yells as she shields the customers
“That doesn’t matter. Come with us” they say
“Huh…? Me? Come with you? As if!”
“Do you wanna be killed on the spot?”
“I’d like to see you try” An then smirks
Feeling intimidated, they then take out their gun and pointed at An
An shakes a bit but had an unfazed look. She slowly pulls out her gun
Kohane looking at the situation afar is now confused on whether she should let An die or save her. Her mission is to kill An but she just can’t let someone else take that chance. After a minute of fighting with her thoughts she takes out her gun and shoots one of them. Surprised, An then also shoots them. Resulting in a gunfight. Both An and Kohane shield each other from the enemy. After a while the enemies retreated and the ambush came to an end. The bar is now a mess with many broken furniture glasses scattered on the ground.
An then looks at Kohane, who hasn’t muttered a single word. She then approaches her, wanting to take her. “Hey, you”
Startled a bit, Kohane then responds “Y-yes?”
“Thanks for the help out there. You were so cool!”
“E-eh? Y-yeah… You're welcome…” Kohane lowers her hat. Not used to compliments and also thinks that compared to An, An is more cooler, and most of her shots were more misses than a hit on the target
“To be able to handle a gun… you must be working for the authorities huh?”
“Authorities?!” Kohane’s voice cracked a bit. Trying not to get An suspicious of her she tries to come up with something “N-no! I just… I just happen to know how to shoot people!”
“...eh?” An had a confused and concerned look
“I-I mean!! Er… I like to go to shooting ranges… yeah!” Kohane sweats, hoping An believes her.
One brow was raised by An but soon she was convinced. She then thought of something that would change both their lives forever “Oh and hey, if you’re bored with shooting ranges… How about you join me? We kinda do need people like you”
“Join? Join what?”
“My gang!” An smiles
Surprised by the offer, without hesitation Kohane accepts. “...okay”
“Yay! I feel like we’re gonna get along quite well …. What’s your name?”
“J-just call me Kohane”
“Kohane… nice name! We’re gonna be the greatest partners Kohane!” An then pulls Kohane into a hug
“WAH! Too tight!”
“Hehe!”
From here on, Kohane is part of a smaller group of the RADder faction that’s led by An. They were named Vivids. Soon other members joined. Kohane never thought she would be allies with her enemy. Her agency’s superior was rather disappointed but later realizes with Kohane joining and forming a bond with the leader’s daughter might make their main mission a success. That main mission is… to take down the mafia.
Kohane was later informed about the change of her mission, and so she tries to form a bond with An. She tries her best to not get too attached with An but that backfired. When she’s with An, whether that’s on missions or just regular hangouts, she can’t help but admire An even more. Despite living a life where danger lurks everywhere, she remains kind and sweet. It made Kohane frustated. She was supposed to kill her but now she can’t due to the questionable feelings she has for her. Instead she’s now by her side, aiding her in blind spots, becoming partners, and… both promised to protect each other. Everytime Kohane remembers that promise she cries a little. She knew one day she had to break that promise.
The worst keeps happening to her, and An just confessed her love to her. Kohane just stood there dumbfounded.
“It’s alright if you need time… I just want to let it out” An said as she held Kohane’s hand
Kohane finally understood the questionable feelings she had, the butterflies in her stomach. She too has feelings for An. This just makes her feel more and more bad. Out of all people, why her enemy? Kohane thought to herself. She then speaks
“I… I love you too. An-chan”
An’s eyes then widen and she immediately hugs Kohane. Kohane stood still. She later hovers her hands to An’s back, hesitant to hold, and soon holds her close. She gripped An’s jacket. Both overjoyed by knowing An loves her, saddened that An has to fall for a liar like her.
Just like that, things stayed the same. The two took on missions, raids, and had hangouts. Though An noticed how Kohane has been avoiding her. Pushing her away when An does affectionate gestures. Confused, An tries not to think about it until it gets to her head. She plans not to confront Kohane about it until one day, before a raid. She and Kohane had a talk about their plans. Out of the blue, An asks
“Hey Kohane… are you alright?”
“Huh? Yeah I am”
“I see… it’s just that. I can’t help but notice how you’ve been… rather off lately?”
“Off…?” Kohane sweats
“Yeah… uh… I know it’s not my business but. You can always talk to me when you got problems. I’m down to listen. You’re my partner after all”
“...” Kohane then headbutts An’s chest
“Ack!!”
Kohane then holds her close, nuzzling on An’s neck. An was surprised but then hugs her back. They hold onto each other for a few minutes. Kohane then speaks
“I don’t deserve you An-chan”
“Eh…?”
“I don’t deserve your love”
“H-hey! Don’t say that! You deserve all the love! Not just me!”
Kohane stayed silent. Staying close to An, hearing her heartbeat. What Kohane said is how she truly feels. She doesn’t deserve An’s love. As much as it feels nice, it also feels like a multiple stab through the chest. Kohane tries to ignore the painful feelings and just wishes to stay like this with An forever.

A year then passed. Everything went like usual, until one day. Kohane was confronted by her superiors as well as her boss. They noticed how Kohane hasn’t taken action and because of that they are going to help Kohane to speed things up. Kohane then tried to bargain with them and they gave Kohane time till the end of July. Back at home, Kohane went to her room, knees fell to the floor, she screamed and tears fell down her face. She hit the bed multiple times.
“W-why….”
“Why does it have to be like this…?”
“Why can’t I just…”
“Why do I have to fall for you…”
“I just can’t seem to hate you.”
She cried and cried, till her eyes swell.

If only, there was a reality where both her and An had a normal life. A life where they don’t have to face dangers everyday. A life where Kohane doesn’t have to hide the truth. A life where they can be together forever. Kohane has always wanted to quit the job ever since she was recruited to the gang. But she knows she can’t. She needs the job, for her family. She used to think that her job as an agent was her fate but after meeting An, things changed. She felt purpose for the first time. If only she was brave enough to quit her job and be with the one she loves. But the world isn’t as kind.
Time passes… It's now July.
In RADder’s safehouse, the members there decide to throw a party for An. After all, it's July 26th, her birthday. Everyone was dancing and chatting. An was having a blast with the other members as well with her family and friends. Kohane was there, leaning on a wall with a drink in her hand, away from the crowd. She’s not really a party person. An then sees Kohane and went up to her.
“Hey! Come on! Enjoy the party!” An then takes Kohane’s hand
“W-wah! I am enjoying it! Don’t worry An-chan”
An then grins and pulls Kohane. Taking her somewhere far from the crowd.
“An-chan?? Where are you taking me?”
“Hehe, you’ll see”
The two then took stairs to go to the second floor, and there she led Kohane to a balcony.
“I love the view of the city here” says An
Kohane then takes a look at the scenery, mesmerized by the dazzling lights at night. “It’s pretty…”
“It sure is”
An then takes a good look at Kohane, she later leans closer
“A-An?”
“I love you Kohane.” An smiles, she then cups Kohane’s face
Kohane’s face reddens, she intuitively leans closer as well. The two then locked their lips together for a while. Kohane melts into the kiss… she then pulls away, blushing really hard. An can’t help but find it so cute that she laughed.
“You’re so cute Kohane…”
“Am I really…”
“Of course!”
Kohane kept blushing harder. “An-chan…!”
“But I’m really happy, you know. Cuz I get to celebrate my birthday with you” An smiles
Kohane’s eyes widened seeing her smile. It really warms her heart. As well as hurting it “I’m glad too An-chan”
An then takes Kohane’s hand which startled her
“An-chan?”
“Let’s dance Kohane!”
“D-dance? I can’t dance!”
“Don’t worry I’ll teach you!”
Kohane had a hesitant look but later nodded.
And so they danced, the loud music from the first floor was able to make it to the second floor, the songs were upbeat and is something that would make people dance. Both An and Kohane had the time of their lives. Their faces were happy and free of worries. It’s like the world was theirs, in their private dance floor.
Soon all of that came to an end.
“AN!!” A familiar voice appeared, he had orange hair and was bruised up.
“H-huh?? Akito??” She looked at him with concern about his condition
“Kkh… The others are… crap…nngh!”
An then approaches him, Kohane stands still.
“Akito! What happened?!”
“Everyone was… everyone… nnh… they died.”
“Died?!!”
“An ambush happened… the authorities found us. And I don’t have much time left”
“Hey! HEY! I’m not letting you die!” An shakes Akito’s body
“Stop… just stop.” He coughs out some blood, he later looks at Kohane who’s behind An “You….”
“Huh?” An had a confused look
“I’ve got a lot to say about you… kkh…”
Kohane just looks at him, her heart beating fast.
“You… you fucking traitor…” those were then Akito’s last words.
“Hey! HEY! HEY!! AKITO!!” An then shakes Akito’s cold body, slapping his face multiple times to keep him alive to no luck. She later lets go of him and looks back to Kohane.
“An-chan…” Kohane had a guilty look on her face
“K-Kohane… what does he mean by.. traitor…?” An asks, trying to process everything
Kohane stayed silent.
“Kohane??”
“Hey. Kohane. Say something…”
…
“Kohane…”
…
“Say something… come on… you can’t be…”
…
“KOHANE!!” An shouts at her, her brows furrow, tears starting to fall down her face
Kohane shakes a bit. She later speaks.
“It’s true… I am a traitor” Kohane then looks away
An looks at her with disbelief. “No…”
“I’m an agent.”
“No… no… this can’t be… no way…”
“I’m sorry An-chan. I had to.”
“No… no… NO!!”
“I don’t deserve you. I really don’t”
“Y-you… that was all… that was all a lie? It was all lies?!!”
“An-chan…”
“These mean nothing to you huh… I always felt something was off about you.”
“No they all mean everything to me!” Kohane yelled
“Then why… why did you lie to me?”
“I.. I had to”
“...I don’t even know what to say anymore.” An had a disappointed look. She later charges herself to Kohane, taking out her gun.
Kohane immediately counters, taking the gun off her hand and throwing it away. An later hits her with her elbow. Kohane takes the hit but recovers quickly and kicks An away. The two then fight until the authorities made it to the second floor.
An was later shot with a tranquilizer dart. “Kkh!!” It left a stinging pain in An’s back. An slowly falls down. Trying to fight back against the chemicals. She later mutters her last words before she passes out.
“I… hate you… Kohane…”
And with that An was taken away by the authorities.
“A job well done Azusawa. You’re definitely gonna get a raise for this” said one of her coworkers
Kohane just stayed silent
They then picked up An and walked away but looked back at Kohane “You coming?”
“...In a bit.” says Kohane.
They then leave the place and Kohane is left alone. She takes a deep breath and sees An’s gun on the floor. She slowly walked to it and picked it up. She takes a good look and later cried.
“An-chan… I’m so sorry…”
“I never wished for this to happen. I really don’t.”
Kohane then looks at the scenery one more time, and looks up to the sky, a full moon so bright.
“The moon’s so beautiful tonight…”
She then gripped the gun.
She took another deep breath.
“I love you An-chan. I really don’t deserve you. I never will”

“Thank you for everything…”

A loud gunshot was heard.
