Two Phone Calls and A Massive Delusion

Summary:

Gibbs calls Tony. Tony calls his sister. Ziva plots.

Work Text:

He was a cute baby, but then again that was to be expected, given who his father was. There was just enough similarity to her own coloring that she could reasonably call it hers and no one should question it. She had already faked up papers that should get them out of here and over to a good safe house away from his father's reach.

Possession was 9/10ths of the law and she definitely would be possessing it. She was Mossad. She had superior training. Instinct told her to get out of the area quick after the acquisition, though it would be harder without her usual options but those were unsuited to traveling with a small one. She'd leave enough false trails to distract anyone coming after her while she made it out of the country with it. Also, she was going to think up a new name, a better stronger name. Something much more worthy of it.

Her father would be proud when she arrived with his new grandson, with baby Michael Eli. Yes, that would be the best name, to honor both the men she loved.

First, she just needed to get out of this cell.

Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs had a headache that coffee wasn't touching. The Metro Desk Sergeant had called to let him know one of his people was in lockup and no, they were not letting them out on their own recognizance considering why she was in lockup in the first place. After trying to communicate with her, he could begrudgingly see why. The sight of DiNozzo's wish baby had sent her completely over the edge. Which was troublesome by itself, but then the knowledge that his SFA had moved apartments without telling him was also something. He didn't like the feeling that fact gave him. Not at all.

He leaned against the outside of the Metro building, close to where the smokers area was and dialed the familiar number.

"DiNozzo."

"Are you safe?"

"Gibbs? Is this about Ziva?" Well that answered a few questions and raised a shitload of others. Dammit.

"Are. You. Safe."

"Yes."

"Good. Don't tell me where. Ziva's gone off the rails." He thought he heard a mumbled "further off, you mean" from someone else in the background, but he ignored that for now.

"Might want to check on McGee, boss."

"Copy that. Congrats, Tony." He hung up after saying that and pushed off the wall to head back to his car and then the Navy Yard. His Junior Agent needed checking on and there was going to be a political mess with Ziva. He couldn't wait to drop it on Director Vance's lap. Served the man right.

Tony arched an eyebrow at the phone he'd had on speaker before Gibbs had hung up on him. "Right so, where were we?"

Rabb blew out a breath before looking over at Mac. "Want to flip for it?"

"Oh no, Commander Rabb. The order of protection is all yours. I'll be drafting up the arguments for this Section 125 exception."

"I have a feeling you're going to need those sooner than you think." Miriam murmured. "Tony, did you tell anyone at NCIS, Theo's full name?"

"No, he didn't." Delores confirmed. "You think she might try to claim him as the other parent?"

"She's crazy enough to think it might work."

Mac nodded, "And in order to prove she isn't, you'd have to disclose who, if any, were the other parents named on the scroll."

"Which would open a huge can of worms if you hadn't already given us the heads-up." Rabb commented, "Well, I should say will open said can. Since we all know it will come out eventually. Birth records are public records after all, even for wish babies."

Brad nodded, "So order of protection and then moving, I think, needs to be priority number one on our list."

"Whatever help you need, we'll get it done. Between Marian's, mine, and Tony's contacts, we should be able to get you moved in a day once you've settled on a house." Delores murmured, making notes on the legal pad in front of her.

"The house thing we might already have a line on a place actually." Brad commented, looking over at Tony. "Didn't your sister mention something to you?" A week or so ago, Tony had been ranting about his sister being up in his business about how much of a liability his current apartment was and she had a perfectly good place for him.

Tony blanched before snatching his phone back up. "Shiz, I need to let her know. Rosie'll be pissed that I didn't call her second." He sent a quick text to her cell number with a picture of Theo and the caption,'Congrats it's a nephew.'

Harm's eyebrows had disappeared into his hairline, hearing this, while Mac just smirked a little down at her notes. Barely even a full 90 seconds later, the phone rang and Tony hit the speaker button again.

"Piccolo Cretino, you did NOT just-"

"Hi Rosie, please don't yell. Theo's just drifting off." Tony cut her rant off before she could really get going.

There was a moment of hold music coming out of the speaker before it cut back over to her now perfectly even tone. "Antonio, fratello mio, I require more details. Now, por favore."

"Theo's a wish baby. He arrived today and he's perfect, Rosie."

"Of course he is, how could he not be? Are you the only parent or was there another listed, dearest brother of mine."

"Do you remember Brad?"

"Antonio, no one can forget Dr. Bradley Pitt. He saved your life. Also you pine for him like Denali pines for his forbidden catnip treats. He is the other parent? Will you be having a fall or a winter wedding? Spring is too far away and I need to know so planning can be done."

"We're more worried about finding somewhere more suitable to live."

"Oh yes, your apartment is not at all suitable for my nephew. The good doctor's place might be better but children should grow up in houses, Antonio."

"Kind of my train of thought, yes."

"So you will move into the house over on MacArthur Blvd. Marco will bring you the keys. You will not argue with me or I will tell Papa." Typical sibling talk if you ignored the fact that Papa was one of the heads of the Five Families and currently imprisoned in Philadelphia for murder.
