Work Text:

Pangi’s blood was pulsing through his body, a heavy, sickening thud, thud, thud rang in his ears. He needed to leave before-

“Panji!!!!!”

Oh right. In his daze he must of logged onto the realm.

“Panji? Are you ok?”

That must be Pili, poor pili, he has to deal with my stupid problems, without him doing anything in return. He was so usel-

A pair of paws grabbed his face and forced him to look at a furry face. “Look, what happened on that server, stays on that server, you matter here”

Pangi felt a shaky sigh leave himself, it was okay, what Japex said, does not matter, he was wrong. Right?

Pili was ready usually, whenever Pangi would come back from a seemingly terrible session on lifesteal, but this was the worst he’s seen the pangolin.

Pangi had slumped over the cat and closed his eyes. He thought he had fallen asleep when a quiet sob vibrated into Pili’s shoulder, he didn’t know if Pangi even know he was crying, especially since he’s never seen Pangi cry while knowing Pili was present. Pili’s heart ached at the memory of Pangi sobbing in a corner, not knowing that Pili was present, and then quickly covering up and pretending nothing happened when he eventually decided to show his face.

Pili knew the server was cruel, and that -from the terrors he’s heard- Pangi was not built for it. He was so concerned that Pili brought it up with Tubbo once.

“That server is special, both Clown AND Pangi joined at the same time, really early, quite a few years ago. It’s a cruel place but it gives these guys a purpose.” Tubbo had stated.

“But, he’s just not built for it, how can someone like Pangi, find a purpose in so much violence? I understand Clown, but Pangi?” He had argued.

Tubbo’s eyes had then darkened, “You haven’t seen it for yourself, people on that server have nothing else, they join it out of desperation on the break of loosing themselves, and they find it a release. None of the people join it without a scars haunting their pasts. It gives them some sickening reason, and the knowledge the betrayals and death is locked to the server, provides a sense of security and safety for the members.”

Before he could end the conversation, Tubbo continued, “However the aftermath, the aftermath of a season is- it’s awful, and not something I would wish upon my worst enemies to take care of. If a season ends while this server is still up, comfort Pangi, but don’t bother him. Clown as well, they would need there time alone to fully recover and distance themselves form this season”

Pili sighed, and let himself snuggle into the sobbing pangolin, slowly whispering sweet nothings in his ear in an attempt at comfort. He can be there now, and that is what he should focus on.
