It's era 3, now that the gem empire it's officially over and all gems have been liberated ( and for some, forced away ) from the duties they had been created to fulfil, there was a lot of empty hands, some gems had been able to find activities to spend their days on, but others felt lost, useless, or just bored with absolutely nothing to do. But there was one activity that all gems still had to do in common.
Gems didn't have the necessities humans did, like eating, sleeping, or keeping themselves clean from their own secretions , but there is one thing that gems must do to keep themselves healthy and presentable, even the diamonds.
All gems must be polished and cleaned at least once in a while, to keep the gem shiny and presentable, ¡nothing could be more embarrassing, more unacceptable, more disgraceful than having a dull or dirty looking gem!.
And of course, it was easy to say that the group of gems that cared the most about their image would be no one else than the diamonds.
Blue diamond was in her pool, already submerged below her chest in the water, she watched the ripples that crossed the water due to any light movement, while she waited for her guest. After a few long minutes she heard the beep of the panel being pressed repeatedly across the door followed by the mechanical sound of it opening. Yellow diamond came into view and headed with her always straight posture and punctual walk (although visibly more relaxed) towards the edge of the pool.
"You finally arrive"
"Sorry for the wait, I only had a handful of shards left to collect and you know I can't stand leaving things half done" Yellow explains to Blue with her hands behind her back
"It's okay, you're here now, come on, the water is the perfect temperature" blue diamond invites her with a smile, extending her hand for her to take and helping her into the water in one fluid motion.
"It's been a long time since we met here, just the two of us" says Yellow, now also submerged up to her chest, without letting go of Blue's hand.
"It's true, I missed it. Do you feel nervous?" Blue responds as she caresses the hand in hers with her thumb.
"Uh, no, it's just that I've never done this in the presence of anyone else, besides Pearl." Blue notices how her cheeks gain a little more color, she was nervous.
"It's okay, we can just relax in the water, although with all that gardening work you've been doing lately you could use a cleaning... and if you'll allow me, I'd like to help you with that." Blue looks into her eyes with a sweet and slightly playful look, cheeks visibly turning a deeper shade.
"H-help me?" Yellow responds, feeling the intense heat rising to her cheeks and ears. That mere phrase caused a shiver to run down her spine. She had let Blue touch her gem many times before, but never in something as intimate as in the process of cleaning and polishing it.
"Oh, I'm sorry, that was very bold of me, I don't know why I said it" Blue looked away, embarrassed.
"No, it's okay, I'll allow it" Yellow says, regaining her composure, blush still present.
Blue's eyes shine, she gives a wide flirtatious smile and extends her arm to pick up a small brush with soft bristles and some kind of soap from the side of the pool.
"Lean back against the edge of the pool" Yellow did exactly that, as soon as she leaned she felt the full intensity of her nervousness, carefully observing every movement of the gem next to her as she stood on her right side, with the brush and soap in hand.
Blue added the soap to the brush and began to trace circles with it on the precious gem embedded in her beloved yellow's chest, and delighted in seeing how the muscles in her face and back relaxed.
"Is that okay?"
"Yes" was the simple response, a sigh leaving her lips at the sensation of the soft bristles caressing her gem. She soon moved from the center to the edges, scraping particles of soil from the pots at the edges where her gem connected with the skin, adding soap once again.
After finishing each of the 4 edges she made Yellow recline even more, leaving only her head above the water to rinse off the soap and dirt. Once she stood up straight again in the water, drunk with relaxation, she felt a soft kiss on her temple, she turned to look at Blue.
"Done" she said with a soft look and a complacent smile "was it good?"
"More than good. Can I return the favor?" She asked permission, smiling back.
Blue handed her the soap and the rinsed brush and leaned against the edge of the pool right where Yellow had been.
"I'm all yours" she said with that flirtatious tone back. With the color returned to her cheeks, yellow got to work.
