“GUYS! It’s almost All Hallows Eve, and we don’t have costumes!!” Mira burst into the room, yelling.
“Oh crab, really?” Isa sounded surprised.
“It’s almost All Hallows Eve!?!” Bonnie yelled. You have no idea what is happening.
“What in gem's name is ‘All Hallows Eve’?” Odile, asking the real questions.
“Madame!? You don’t know what All Hallows Eve is??” Isa asked, surprised and confused. “Sif, you know what All Hallows Eve is, right??”
You don’t. “Nope,” you reply.
Everyone is looking at you and Odile like you’re both crazy. You hide in your cloak.
Isa steps up to the plate to explain it. “Basically, All Hallows Eve is a holiday where you dress up as someone other than yourselves and pretend to be them. We call it a costume. Then, you go around talking to other people's costumes. This is called Treating. Most people dress up as characters from books or plays.”
“So it’s like cosplaying?” You say, without really thinking about it. Everyone is looking at you weird, so you rush to explain. “It’s basically when you dress up as a character and go to a convention?” Your head hurts.
“So it’s just All Hallows Eve with a different name?” Isa asks.
You shake your head. “You can cosplay whenever, cons are just an excuse? And cons can happen whenever”
Odile is writing something in her book, and everyone else is looking at you funny. You feel very uncomfortable. “Uh- so, let’s get costumes??”
“Oh yeah, we should!” Isas got your back; thank the stars.
“Yeah! What do you all want to be?? I think I'm going to be one of the protagonists from ‘The Cursing of Chateau Castle’!”
You don't know, stars. Maybe you could be a character from a play you like?
“Perhaps I'll be a steryotypical old lady.”
“Yea, Madame! Getting into the holiday spirit! I'm gonna be a Werewolf!”
“I'll be [a character they are absolutely obsessed with, but they can't act too excited, or they won't be cool], I guess.”
Oh no, everyone knows what they'll be except you! “Uh- I'll be.. Siffrin from the play [play]?”
“Wow, Siffrin, very creative. Very good” Odile said, extremely sarcastically.
“You didn't have any idea what this was half an hour ago!” You pout. They're the only characters you really know, besides the characters in Blinding Cursing of Chateau Castle!
“I didn't know there was a play about you!!!” Bonnie's excited, at least.
“It's not about me, specifically. We just share a name! If it's playing nearby, maybe we can watch it sometime? But first, costumes.”
“There should be a costume shoppe somewhere! There are always some around All Hallows Eve! And if we can’t find anything there, then we can always try a clothes shoppe!” Mira says, saving the day.
“Ok! Let's go!”

Turns out, shopping for a character you barely remember, with multiple versions of themselves, is incredibly difficult! Who would have thought!? You know the *vibes* of Siffrin(the character), but an actual outfit would be nice!
Ok breath. Lists help; list everything you know about Siffrin(the character):
Darkless hair(this is actually very consistent!)
Cool hat (feather maybe?)
Set about 20 years ago?
Mostly light and mid-toned clothes(??)
No one can agree on the style of clothes (except that they wear dresses/cloaks/flowy things (???))
Cool little black heels
That's it. Ok. You have the hair and heels already, you just need a lightness dress and a cool hat w/ a feather. Styled about 20 years ago. Easy!
Ok, first things first, hat. You can probably find everything else at a clothes store, but cool hats are probably more common in costume stores, you think.
You wander over to the hats section and look at all the different hats for sale. There are all kinds of hats, from small hats with cool patterns on them to huge hats that you don't think could fit through the doorway.
After a bit of searching, you find it. The perfect hat. It's pretty fancy looking, so that's the style you’ll go for w/ the rest of the outfit. It's got a little piece of mesh, and a built in feather(!) And it's a bit lighter than lightness. And it's perfect for Siffrin(the character).
Next, you go looking for fancy, darker dresses. Not too hard to find, but you need a flowyer one for the vibes. Most of the dresses here are skin-tight, which you don't like. Siffrin(the character) has worn skin-tight dresses before(if you're remembering correctly), but you're not comfortable in them.
There are frilly dresses and clown dresses and long dresses and short dresses. None of them stand out to you, though. Mira comes up to you.
“Siffrin? Are you doing alright?” Huh?
“Huh?”
“You're crying again.” Stars, you are. How embarrassing. You wipe your eyes quickly.
“I'm fine Mira. Just can't find a good dress” You feel embarrassed just saying it.
“Oh! We can go to the clothes store next door! I'm done shopping, I can take you there! We just need to pay for our stuff first.”
“Ok, let's go then.”

At the clothes store, you have a bit more luck. You find a good dress, thank the stars, and wander back over to the costume shop to see how everyone else is doing.
Isa’s found wolf ears and a tail, and seems to be browsing for clothes now. Odile hasn't found anything, will probably have to go to the clothes store. Bonnie's found everything and is waiting for Odile to pay for their stuff. Mira has found everything, obviously, and is waiting for everyone with you.
You're very proud of the costume you found.

Everyone has everything! Isa is wearing a wolf tail and ears, with a plaid collared shirt and jeans. Odile is wearing a cardigan and leggings, with drop earrings you can barely see. Bonnie is dressed as a superhero, with a bright plastic-looking suit with a logo on it, a cool helmet thing, gloves, and boots. Mirabelle is dressed in some Victorian-era fancy dress. You’re wearing a lightless flowy fancy dress with darkless frills along the bottom and a hanging belt, and a fancy hat. You have your heeled boots and gloves on.
You can’t wait to go Treating!

You kind of hate Treating.
Well, you guess it’s the talking to people you hate. And no one knows who you are! It’s annoying! They're just coming up to you because they're supposed to! You want to go back to your room in the inn.
“Hi. um. Youre Siffrin, right? From [play]?”
You look. It's a kid, maybe 14, dressed up in a flowy, lightless dress, dark gloves, heels, and a really big hat. “Yeah! You know it?”
“Yep! It’s one of my favorites! But no one else knows it :(”
“Right? It’s so annoying! You're dressed up as Siffrin too, right?”
“Yeah :) I like how you did you’re hair, especially the lightless part!”
“Thank you! You’re hair is really well done!”
“Siffrin! Oh! I see you found a friend! I presume you’re both dressed as the same person?” Mira comes running on stage.
“Yep! I was just telling them how good their hair is!”
“Oh! You’re dress is really pretty! I like the frills!”
“Thank you! I found it at the costume shoppe just down the street from here!”
“My dress has frills too??”
“Yes, but they arn’t as good as-” The kid paused. “What are your pronouns?”
“Oh, my pronouns are she/her!”
“Mine are he/they.” You supply helpfuly.
“Mine are she/they/any! Anyway, your frills arn’t as good as hers.”
“Rude.” You sulk.
“Oh! Um- Siffrin. We need to go back to the Inn. It’s bedtime.”
“Oh, Ok. See you around, kid.”
“See you around! :3”
