He could rarely tell where they were sending him. Wasn’t like anyone else could, anyways. What was this place called again? Planet Voss? Whatever it was, it was dark, and he could hear his pursuer.
Elliot had darted around a wall after being chased by John Doe, and rested on the other side of the wall, using a medical kit to try to help his injuries. He was so thankful the medical kit had a sling and cast in it..
His leg was twisted in a horrendous way from his fall. His face was entirely covered in bruises and scars, a black eye over his left. His left arm and left leg had dislocated from their sockets completely, leaving him hurt, and almost unable to run completely. A gash went along his side, stringing every time the cool night air kissed it, Elliot applied pressure to the gash with a cloth, wincing when it left a stinging feeling on his skin. Unfortunately, he couldn’t eat his own pizza, which had somehow gained an ability to heal people, and had to heal himself the old-fashioned way.
Elliot counted down to himself, before beginning this painful process.
He repeated the process again, popping his leg back, and beginning to work on treating all of his other wounds. Disinfecting scars, wrapping casts around bad injuries, and most of all, trying to keep himself safe.
That was when he heard loud footsteps.
Elliot scrambled to his feet, looking around in fear, before Chance ran up to him.
Chance hugged him tight, laughing and spinning poor Elliot around in circles.
“I thought you were dead, idiot!” Chance cried out happily, “Thank god!” Elliot rolled his eyes, but nonetheless, hugged back. His arms were both still sore, but Chance was supporting his weight, so he wasn't mad.
“It’s not that easy to kill me, Chance.” He replied with a quiet scoff. Chance raised his eyebrow, before deciding antagonizing Elliot wasn’t worth it, and let go of Elliot to flip his coin.
Ah yes, Chance’s coin. The thing that determined if he was able to shoot that blasted revolver. Everyone would always tease chance about when the damn gun would backfire. Well.. except 007n7.
Elliot did not like 007n7, but he had to admit, it took guts to keep moving forward in his situation. Imagine your son, the person you spent 10 years raising, becomes evil, and tries to kill you because he thinks it a game. Or your business partner, someone you’ve spent your kid’s entire life working alongside, suddenly becomes evil. Yeah. He had to admit that took guts. Courage. Both things 07 didn’t have but hey, at least Elliot was giving him time of day.
Chance and Elliot took a small walk through Planet Voss.
With 30 seconds left on the timer, they had to be careful, but everyone was at full health, and John Doe was nowhere to be seen, so why not stroll with someone you’re getting to know? Elliot sat against a wall, patting a spot next to him for Chance to sit down. Chance sat down, wrapping an arm around Elliot’s shoulders as the timer ticked down.

They were back at the cabins again. Elliot felt where the wounds had been. This was still so weird for him.
Elliot had made brownies, which were left on the nightstand. Chance was laying on Elliot’s bed, eating the brownies.
Chance stayed at Elliot’s cabin most of the time. Chance always argued it was warmer, the bed was more comfortable, easier to gamble, or food was closer. In reality, it was simply that this was Elliot’s cabin, and Chance adored Elliot. Both of them knew that whenever Elliot died during rounds Chance would pace around while missing Elliot, and when he got sent back to the cabin, he’d be glued to Elliot’s side for a day or so.
Elliot didn’t care. It was warmer, more comfortable with Chance there, so he didn’t mind.
“Are we going to bed now?” Chance asked, laying down in the middle of the bed with his arms out, expecting late night cuddles. Elliot rolled his eyes, but nodded.
“Now seems fine.” He replied, moving to lay down in Chance's arms.
Elliot and Chance fell asleep like that, Elliot in Chance’s arms, Chance stroking his hair, the two of them falling asleep, wrapped in each other’s warmth.
Wrapped in each other’s comfort.

When Chance woke up, a round had started.
Chance flipped his coin, whistling to himself.
Today was.. calm.
This run was.. calm.
But that was when it happened.
Right in front of him, Elliot, low on health, was cornered by John doe.
Elliot was lifted into the air, and snapped in half. Elliot's blood stained the grass, coating the blades of green in velvet. Elliot's intestines forcibly unraveled, other guts laid on the green grass below.
Chance paused. This happened so much, but it never got less painful.

Chance stayed alive until the end of the game.
And the game after that.
And the game after that.
.. And that.
Elliot never came back. Not to make food. Not to see Chance.
Not even to go to his own cabin.
Where was he?
Why wasn't Elliot coming home?
