Notes:

Welcome to my first work the the Phandom. I'm a long time reader but first time writer. I had seen prompts like this all over Tumblr and figured I might as well write the content I want to see into the world. I do have a plan and hope to update this often. Now on to the horrors of this new work.

Chapter 1: Through the Mirror and First Message

Chapter Text

Danny had been spending a lot more time with Clockwork after the whole “Dan” and Pariah Dark incidents. It had started off as just stopping by any time he had noticed The Long Now on flights through the Zone but had slowly grown into stopping by after school or just to hang out on weekends when Sam and Tucker were busy with family stuff. Clockwork had always been happy to see him and on special occasions would send him on small Time missions. Danny had loved the chance to help out even if it was for something as small as “go through this portal and pick up this very specific rock and move it next to a tree”.

Some missions were bigger and took some getting used to. There was one time where he got to interact with a young(?) or perhaps the better word would be the alive version of Clockwork. Danny had had a full on breakdown when he learned that Clockwork had been Kronos the Titan of Time but looking back it made sense. Clockwork didn’t like to talk about his past. But who would if you had been crazy and ate all your kids and a rock? He is so glad that Clockwork has given up the whole eating kids thing. That would make visiting him kind of weird if he was just going to eat him.

Visiting Clockwork was one of Danny’s favorite things to do right along with keeping his town safe and watching the stars. He had gotten to watch the different Timelines play out on the mirrors, watch history in “real time” and ace all his homework assignments, once he made sure that it matched with the textbook because sometime history played out very differently from what was written down and Danny can’t just say that he knows that it is wrong because he was kind of adopted by the God of Time.

Sometimes He got to bake with Clockwork. The Master of Time sure had a sweet tooth because whenever they would bake it was always something super sweet. They had made everything from cookies to cakes, cupcakes, and long forgotten sweets. On one memorable occasion they made a future sweet that would not be made popular for at least twenty years from Danny’s current time. Today was one of the laid-back days however, no baking or Time mission just watching as events happen at some point in time.

“Hey, Clockwork?” Danny asked while wrapping his arms around Clockwork’s shoulders and resting his head next to Clockwork’s.

“Yes Daniel?” Clockwork replied not looking away from the Timelines but leaning his head just a little toward Danny affectionately.

“I know you don’t like talking about your past and all, but I was curious, are your kids still out there or did they also make it into the Zone? Cause I would think people would know if the Greek Gods were still around right?” He said looking at all the mirrors but not really focusing on any of them.

“They are all still alive and well. I look in on them occasionally. Most people do not in fact know that the Greek Gods are around. Think of them in a way that most people do not believe that ghosts are real yet here we are. Just because people do not believe we are real does not mean we stop existing. When it comes to the Gods, the domains they watch over are still real and they still control them just now mortals no longer praise and thank them for their work.” He explained shifting his focus and the mirrors to Olympus to show Danny the Olympians on their thrones as they discuss some matter.

Danny looks into the mirror and tries to guess who is who based purely on how they look. Some were easy to tell like Hephestus tinkering with something in his lap almost not paying attention to the meeting around him. If Danny had to guess the burly looking man with a wicked cool sword was probably Ares, who other than the God of War would carry a sword like that with them. The meeting seemed to be almost over as the Gods appeared to be talking amongst themselves now rather than looking toward the one seated at the center, most likely Zues. The rest were harder for him to guess at, he was not the most attentive when it came to knowing all the Gods and the rest didn't seem to be holding anything to point out who was who.

Danny hummed for a minute, “That’s cool. I kind of want to meet them but how would I even introduce myself? Just pop in and be like “Hi, I’m Danny and it is really nice to meet you all in person! I got to see you in the Timestream while hanging out with our Dad.” I feel like that would be a little weird for them.” He said as he unwrapped himself from Clockwork and flew closer to the mirror.

“I could send them a message to introduce you if you would really like that. I believe I have told you before that I am quite fond of you and you are just as much a son of mine as they are. That would make you a new younger brother to them. In some of their cases an Uncle as part of the Olympians are Zues’ children.” Clockwork stated evenly as he privately looked ahead in the Timeline and kept a smirk to himself. ‘Oh yes Daniel meeting his children and grandchildren would be a riot.’
“Really! You would do that! I would love to meet them. I guess I should actually read some myths about them if I’m gonna meet them. Clockwork you are the best!” Danny said, flying around excitedly before screeching to a halt right in front of Clockwork. “Wait if I’m your son does that mean you have to eat me too? Cause no offence I do NOT want to be eaten, like ever.”

“Daniel, I will not be eating you. You would also not be the first child of mine that I did not eat.” Clockwork said with an amused smirk and poking Danny with his Time Staff, “Even if I did want to eat you, you have no meat on your bones. You would hardly make a good meal, let alone a snack.”

“And what baby Gods have a lot of meat on their bones? I don’t think that’s true.” Danny said playfully, swatting away the Time Staff. “Wait! Is that why we bake so much?! You were trying to fatten me up to eat like almost all the rest of your kids! Clockwork that’s so mean.” Danny floated away and crossed his arms over his chest with a little pout that he would never admit to doing.

“If that is what you think, then I guess I don’t need to share the new cookie recipe we were going to try tomorrow. It is too bad. You seemed to have liked them quite a lot and you were able to add chocolate chips to them. Now that time will never come to pass.” Clockwork remarked with a grin as he saw Danny gasp at the sound of cookie and chocolate chips.

“No wait, even if you were just fattening me up, those cookies sound amazing. I wouldn't miss it for the world.” He gasped and pretended to convince Clockwork that they could still have cookies. Both knew that no matter what was said those cookies would still happen.

In the distance a clock tolled and Danny perked up, “That’s my cue to head home isn’t it? Well I’ll see you tomorrow! I will even bring an extra bag of chocolate chips that we can eat while the cookies bake.” He excitedly announced as he flew up to Clockwork one more time for a quick hug before heading back to FentonWorks. Clockwork looked back at the mirrors once more with a grin and quickly wrote out a note for his children and grandchildren. This would certainly be an exciting turn of events.

_______________

The Olympian Council had just wrapped up yet another pointless meeting and were all talking about current events in their domains when a scroll appeared in the center of the throne room. This caught everyone’s attention as this was the most exciting thing to happen in probably a century. Each of the Gods looked at each other for who would be the one to pick up the scroll. Hermes shrugged and got up, quickly making his way to the message. He opened and scanned the contents, eyes going wide as he let out a not so quiet “Oh Shit”.

“Hermes, what does the scroll say?!” Zues demanded from his throne. ‘What could the scroll contain to surprise Hermes as such? One would think we have seen everything.’

Hermes took a deep breath and held the scroll out and announced,

“Dear children and grandchildren,
I know it has been a long Time since you have heard from me or even thought of me but I bring you good news. I would like to introduce you to a new younger brother. Daniel is just 16 years old so very excited to meet all his siblings and extended family. I intend to send him to you when the time is right. He is such a sweet child and I am most confident that you will grow to love him as I have. Expect to hear more from me and meet your newest brother soon.
Your always,
Kronos”

Silence filled the throne room as Hermes finished the message, a sense of dread and panic filled all the Gods. Kronos exists somewhere. Kronos has sired another son. Kronos has been watching them; he must have been to have sent the scroll at just the right time to have all of them in the throne room for the message to be heard by everyone. How had they not noticed the Titan rising? How long has he been active? Who is this new God and what would he have dominion over? All these questions were left unanswered as chaos erupted.

Each God screams a similar question to one another and plans to hunt down the newest God formed rapidly. Zeus stands from his throne and slams his bolt to the floor. Thunder echoes through the room and everyone once again silences. Eyes all turn to him, and he looks out at each of them before speaking,
“We are aware that this is a very serious matter, and this new young God needs to be found quickly. Who knows how long he has spent with Father and being twisted with false tales of us. But we cannot let ourselves fall into chaos over this. We need clear minds. Athena, Area, and Artemis you shall begin the hunt for this young God. I trust with each of your skills that results will be swift. Hermes, send out messages to all who will hear it that Kronos is rising and to be alert. We defeated Father once and we shall do it again if that is what is needed. We can only hope this young God will join us in our fight against Father. Everyone keep your eyes out and look for any sign that your domain has shifted. We do not know what domain this young one will have and with him being a child of Father’s it is with little doubt that he will be strong.”

Around him the others nod and set out on their tasks and attempt to keep calm. When the scroll had appeared they all knew this would be something new but none of them could have anticipated this. Each God had their own option on this new baby God. The scroll said he is only 16 years old. That is quite literally an infant in their sense of time. When Gods live forever and most of the Council being thousands of years old, a sixteen-year-old is an infant in the grand scheme of things. While Kronos’ children are anxious about the baby, the next generation was rather excited even if they were apprehensive over the circumstances that they found this information.

____________

Clockwork looked on in the mirror and smirked to himself. ‘Oh yes, this will be quite fun. It has been a while since they all saw something interesting happen. Daniel, you will love your Godly family just as much as your mortal family. All is as it should be.’
