"Nico, can I ask you a question?" Will asked. They were sitting on the floor of the Hades cabin. Nico was reading a book (Will's pretty sure it was Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: & Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty) while Will sat behind him, gently running his fingers through Nico's hair–or trying to, at least. Nico's hair was so matted it looked like he hadn't brushed it in years, honestly knowing Nico maybe he hadn't.
"Hm?" Nico responded, not looking up from his book.
"How long has it been since you washed your hair?" Nico went silent, his eyes shifted from the book to the floor. Will awkwardly removed his hands from their spot on top of his boyfriend's head as he realized he had just brought up what was likely a very touchy subject.
"...Bianca used to do it for me," Nico mumbled. Will felt his heart squeeze with sadness as he realized what that meant. Nico's hair really hadn't been brushed in years.
Will sat there for a second, unsure of what to say. "Is it alright if I teach you how to do it?" He asked, his voice wavering a little. Will was trying to be careful. Nico's hair was a serious mess. Something needed to be done about it, but Will didnt want to push Nico into having his hair done if he wasn't ready.
Silence filled the already eerie cabin. Nico slowly nodded.

Nico walked into the camp infirmary, carrying a six-pack of soda. "Will, I got the Stoll brothers to steal us some Dr. Pepper."
Will brightened upon seeing his boyfriend, walking up to him to take the soda from his hand and put it in the infirmary's fridge. "Thank you, my love," Will said, giving Nico a peck on the lips.
Nico noticed that Will seemed to be a little out of breath. "How long have you been wearing your binder for?"
Will pointed an accusatory finger towards his boyfriend. "How long have you been wearing yours for?"
Nico sighed. "Nice try, I took mine off an hour ago. Now, are you going to answer me or not?"
Will sighed and looked away guiltily. "...Ten hours," he whispered, as if he hoped Nico wouldn't hear him. The pure exasperation Nico felt in that moment was indescribable.
"Will!" Nico yelled. For all the preaching Will did about binder safety, he sure was bad at following his own advice.
"I know, I know, but—" Will started, gesturing wildly with his hands. He always gesticulated a lot; it was one of the many traits of his that Nico found adorable. His lack of self-care was one of Will's habits that Nico found irritating.
Nico stomped his foot on the ground. "No buts. Take it off. Now."
"But—"
Nico pouted, bringing out the puppy dog eyes. Will sighed, and Nico felt a small sense of triumph. He knew Will couldn't resist his big, sad, pleading eyes. "No kisses until you take it off."
Will gasped. "You wouldn't dare."
"Oh, I would."
Will raised his hands in defeat. "You win, you little rascal. I'll go take it off."
Nico smiled before reaching up to give Will a kiss on the cheek. "Yay!"

Will frowned down at his boyfriend, who was currently lying in one of the beds in the infirmary after nearly collapsing due to a mix of exhaustion and hunger. "So, let me get this straight," Will started, before being cut off by Nico raising an eyebrow at him. "Fine, let me get this gay. "You haven't eaten since breakfast yesterday because you...forgot?"
Nico nodded.
Will sighed. He wanted to be mad, but he just couldn't. He knew Nico had trouble eating sometimes. He also knew Nico could be pretty forgetful. Besides, he'd be lying if he said he himself had never forgotten to eat until he was shaky and he began to feel nauseous. "Just…eat some fruit, okay?" He said, grabbing an apple from the tray of fruit he kept in the infirmary. (Both as snacks for himself and for his patients)
Nico furrowed his brow and stared at the fruit in front of him as if it had just personally insulted him. "But an apple a day keeps you away."
Will paused, trying to process what Nico had said. When it finally loaded for his brain, he didn't know whether to laugh or to take the apple and throw it at his boyfriend. "Promise me you'll eat this apple, and you won't forget to eat again tomorrow."
Nico pouted, but Will's gaze remained firm. Eventually, Nico accepted that the puppy dog eyes weren't going to work this time and gave up. "Fine, I'll eat the apple."
"And?" Will asked, crossing his arms.
"I promise I won't forget to eat again tomorrow."
Will gave Nico a kiss on the forehead, though it was a little awkward with Nico laying down in the infirmary bed and Will having to dip his head down, but they made it work.

"Willll, please just take a nap," Nico pleaded, tugging on his boyfriend's arm to try to drag him away from the infirmary and towards one of their cabins.
"Babe-"
Nico kissed Will before he could get another word in. Will kissed back for a few seconds, then pulled away and shook his head.
"I love you, but–" Nico kissed him again.
"No buts, you got four hours of sleep last night. You are going to take a nap. Camp will be fine without you for a few hours. Piper's watching over Leo so he doesn't get into any trouble, and I made the Hermes kids promise not to pull any pranks that could injure anybody." Will stared at his boyfriend in shock. Nico had gone through that much trouble just so he could take a nap?
Will sighed in defeat. "Fine, I'll take a nap."
Nico smiled and kissed Will one last time before dragging him towards the Apollo cabin.
It was moments like these that made Will think about how lucky he was to have Nico. He had always been the one taking care of others. It was nice to have Nico (and his siblings) reminding him that he needed to take care of himself too.
As Will lay down on his bed to sleep and Nico was about to leave him alone, Will called out "Darling?"
"Hm?" Nico asked, stopping in his tracks.
"I'm not sure what I'd do without you," Will said, tiredness creeping into his voice.
Nico smiled fondly at his boyfriend. "I'm not sure what I'd do without you, either."
